The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
NameIess replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
The Witherlord reached up to Antagonist, his crown of darkness. With his hand, he broke off one of the crown’s points. ”I am looking for a right hand. A Dragon, to do my bidding, to spread destruction and chaos… to share my power.” He held forth his hand, fragment of Antagonist hovering above it, flickering with black flames. “Prove yourself worthy, and I will bestow this gift upon you.”- 111810 replies

“It is not. I would not discard so useful a tool.” The Witherlord’s violet eyes glowed, the sole light in the nearby Void. “Not when I have other uses for you.”- 111810 replies

“It is good that you know your place.” The Witherlord said. “Though I doubt you have internalized it. Likely, you think I have summoned you planning to kill you for resisting Malevolence.”- 111810 replies

My wife says you should wear a wedding ring. and speaking from experience, mom’s friend’s daughters are a pretty good option, assuming your mom is nice.

My wife would tell you that you can go talk to women on you own. But then again, the first time we met it took me quite a while to even suggest Stormlight to her, so… yeah, it’s tough.

The Witherlord sighed. “I had hoped you would see the truth.” He raised a hand, and ten thousand dark blades formed from the void all around Atlas. “Child, I grow impatient. You have one more chance: serve me, or face the consequences of your own actions.”- 111810 replies

No, he’s a weird chimeric thing that switches between alignments. Without any Luxite around except for very trace amounts throughout the Thread, and without any Luxsprites to make more, it is very unlikely. “There will be peace only after all life has ended. Then and only then will the pain truly stop.” The Witherlord extended a hand to Atlas. “Join me, and bring peace to the Thread.”- 111810 replies

Their civilization was destroyed, the most powerful of them were corrupted, and the rest were killed. The only surviving Luxsprite is no longer in the Thread, having vanished long ago.- 111810 replies

I’d give you advice for finding a good wife, but mine just kinda appeared out of nowhere so I don’t have any. I could probably give advice for avoiding a bad wife.

Hm. It could revive some fragment of Plot’s consciousness (which is already implied to have survived in some way by the Priest of Plot, Vengeance and some other hints), but I think a full revival of Plot is not possible. The Blade of Unity, which could theoretically have been used for such a purpose, has been shattered into like three separate pieces. The opposite of the Witherlord was the Luxsprites, but they’re all dead or gone.- 111810 replies

Possibly, although that would be a near-impossible task. Ironically, Plot existed during a very not-plot heavy section of TLT. From what I remember, Plot was a villain that was in like two posts, whereupon he was promptly killed in another post, leaving behind his Blade, which bounced around between characters before eventually landing in Platypus’s hands, and eventually I made a character with a different Plotblade, and it kind of grew organically from there.- 111810 replies

He is bound in that if he does not fulfill his end of the bargain, the guardians are free to hunt him down and try to kill him. Being the Witherlord, that will be a bit more difficult than just Malevolence.- 111810 replies

A little bit. Never actually built a team, just played random battle formats.

Well there’s a short win to counter it out.

“True. And though I am not him, I was him. So I shall take responsibility for his actions.” The Witherlord placed Malevolence on his back, a sheath forming from shadow. “If you wish to fight me, I will allow it. But consider: if you slay me, you will merely win a continuance to suffering. Those around you will continue to suffer. Death will still plague this Thread. As long as life exists, so too will suffering.”- 111810 replies

Technically Malevolence is not dead. His soul is still there, as is his body, they’re just transformed by the Witherlord’s power. Other hosts have still existed, one has even survived being the Witherlord. Malevolence was a bit of a drama queen when it comes to evil and would say that he’s an entirely different person, but whether that’s entirely true is kinda up to interpretation.- 111810 replies

Do aluminum and chromium allow one to seal cracks in the spiritweb? I know WoB’s have said they could purge unwanted investiture, but sealing up cracks seems like a different thing.

What makes you think he won’t still keep his oath? Atlas appeared in the Void before the Witherlord. Around her, reality was consumed by a legion of withergeists. ”Here for revenge?” The Witherlord asked with an amused expression.- 111810 replies

But she was too late. Even as she leapt for Malevolence, the Mantle came upon him. Power. Power flooded Malevolence, driving away the influence of Redemption, restoring his natural evil impulses. Power such as he had never dreamed. The power of the Void, of pain and death. Darkness. Darkness enveloped Malevolence, expanded to cover the entire mountain. The darkness brought terror to the living and empowered all creatures of the void. It was the darkness of a smothered star, a killer’s heart, an open grave. Evil. Evil filled Malevolence, transformed him, unmade him. Malevolence looked upward and saw nothing but the darkness about him. He closed his eyes and was content. Thus was Malevolence ended. Thus was the Witherlord reborn. The Witherlord opened his eyes. Darkness surrounded him, and he was pleased. But darkness could not hide the stench of reality. And so, he withdrew it. The cloud of darkness covering the whole of the mountain imploded. It rushed inward, revealing the Witherlord’s form. The Witherlord’s irises glowed a sinister violet, the only of Malevolence’s features distinguishable among the shifting shadows that covered the Witherlord’s form. Dark flames flickered along his arms and shoulders, and atop his head he wore Antagonist. In his right hand he held a dark Blade, fully six feet long. The glowing halo manifested itself again, a mere glimmer before the darkness of the Witherlord. He ripped it from his head in disdain, holding the glowing Plotblade of Redemption before him. Shadows pooled, and the halo shattered. “So shall all Plotblades be.” The Witherlord said. “They shall perish with this Thread.” He held his Blade before him. “I name this Blade ‘Malevolence’. For it shall bear his legacy.” The Witherlord raised Malevolence high, then swung the Blade down. Darkness By the Dreamsmith My own creation! The Blade forged by My hand tore the mountain, Cut the world, released the Void. What price for my weakness? Friends lost, stories cut Short. What price for my hope of Light? The Witherlord hovered in the Void. To either side of him were the two sides of the mountain, the world cut in two, laid bare before the ravages of the Void. All around him were withergeists, countless numbers of them. “Go forth. Consume this world and all life upon it. Let them know the fear of the Witherlord, as has been forgotten since times past.” Farewell Bacon. -- Subversion stood at the end of a road, watching the traveler's approach. Even at this distance, she felt the tremors of the Witherlord's return. She tried not to let that terrify her. Instead, she focused on the task at hand. The traveler had decided to end her journey, and Subversion would hear her out. Then Subversion would kill the traveler, and all her worries would be over. Have a good break!- 111810 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
NameIess replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Malevolence grabbed the sphere and ripped it free. His suit, though not armor, had anti-Mordite technology. In essence it stabbed into his leg before the Mordite could, coating the edges of the wound with a field of light enulling energy to prevent Mordite contamination. This did not stop him from being injured, but it did prevent an unhealing wound that could plague him even as the Witherlord. Balitan appeared, holding a cloaking device made with Nullite to remove all traces of his presence. He stood rigid before Malevolence, eyes horrified, but onmoving. Malevolence heard the final voice. It shook him, the mountain, the Thread itself. The roiling clouds above froze in place. The rain halted, and thunder ceased. Watching withergeists ceased their swirling and raised their voices in a final, baleful scream. Malevolence raised Darkseeker to lay down the final blow. As his arm began to move, Antagonist roared alight. The shattered halo fully manifested. Change. It whispered. It is not too late. Never too late. BE REDEEMED. In that moment, Malevolence saw the scene from his sacrifice’s perspective. He felt the fear of death, saw himself as others saw him: Evil. In that instant, all of Malevolence’s evil was stripped away. Every hateful instinct, every negative emotion, his very way of seeing the world was righted. Malevolence saw his goal, and it revolted him. He saw his deeds, and despised them. He saw himself, and hated him. Malevolence lowered Darkseeker as the halo above him sealed back together, complete and whole. Then he smiled. It was not a smile brought upon by emotion. It did not reach his eyes, nor look particularly happy. But it was a smile nonetheless. Because he chose to make it. “I see the right way.” Said Malevolence. “And I choose to reject it.” He ignored every instinct, every desire of his heart, and rammed Darkseeker into Balitan’s heart. He watched as his brother died, feeling every moment of dying agony. Malevolence felt no glorious victory, no satisfaction. But he was resolute. He had chosen his path, and would not change it. The ritual was complete. @xinoehp512- 111810 replies
