  1. "Their true state? it absolutely doesn't work like that."
  2. Moni rolled her eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about. it doesn't work like that at all."
  3. Moni pulled the survey out of her pack, but watched Nowhere warily, ready to grab the device if he tried to make another connection.
  4. "Why should I trust you?" Moni glared at him. "You don't even know what this will do. You said so yourself."
  5. Moni grabbed the machine from him. "Stop this nonsense right now."
  6. Moni shoved the survey in her pack before he could finish. "What do you think you're doing?"
  7. "Do you know another way? Maybe we could imprison him? Or perhaps separate the Witherlord from your avatar?"
  8. "I refuse to accept that. There has to be another way."
  9. Moni glared harder. "Have you ever died? Do you know what it feels like? Well I do."
  10. Nameless shrugged. "She can do what she wants. And I have to say, I agree with her. Partially. X's avatar is a friend. I don't want to kill him. But the Witherlord needs to be stopped, and if X's avatar's death will do that... well, I'll do what I must."
  11. "I don't know how he feels about it, but I know that it's wrong to kill an innocent person like this."
  12. "No, he's not. His avatar is the Witherlord, and tried to kill him. And you're planning to kill his avatar."
  13. "He's the Witherlord. X's avatar is the Witherlord. And you're planning to kill him."
  14. Moni glared at everyone. "You're really just going to kill X's avatar?"
  15. "Yes. So the plan might work. If we can figure out how to protect the bonded one from the Witherlord's influence, at least. It's an... interesting possibility." Nameless nodded to himself, ignoring Moni's horrified look.
  16. Nameless nodded. "This should still work on the Witherlord, yes? While the Witherlord itself is not a corporeal entity, it's avatar is."
  17. "That's an interesting question. I'd guess that it means you're a person with a mental link to a withergeist."
  18. Nameless scratched his head. "Wait, can't withergeists bond people? Not that I particularly like this plan, but I've heard of it happening."
  19. Moni was slightly concerned. "That's your name. Do you have something to say about all of this?"
  20. "The Witherlord won't need to talk. He'll manipulate whatever connection we form to suit his own ends. You'd need an entity of equal or greater power to the Witherlord in order to resist him, but if we had someone like that, they could beat him in some other way."
  21. "That would have to block the bond as well. We can't make a connection like this one way."
  22. We interrupt this program to bring back our regularly scheduled TLT plot. Nameless rolled his eyes. "No, you don't need that connection. This whole plan is useless. If a weak withergeist like this can have a voice in your head, then if you try to do the same thing with the Witherlord, he'll be able to have complete control of you."
  23. "Look, we need to fix this. I say we kill the withergeist."
  24. Nameless summoned his Narrationblade. "I told you this was stupid."
  25. Nameless groaned. "This is such a bad idea. We should kill the withergeist and stop this nonsense before it's too late."
