  1. Nameless walked up holding a massive stack of books and scrolls. "You can help us read all this stuff. This should be every book the clinic has on injuries to the soul."
  2. “Yeah. I’ll go get it.” Nameless helped TAAron to a seat, then walked off to find a librarian and request a catalog.
  3. “All right.” Nameless supported TAAron as he walked towards the library. “I don’t think there’ll be anything though.”
  4. Nameless waited for TAAron to uncover his ears before continuing. “Many have tried, including many legendary heroes. There are probably other ways to heal soul damage, but I don’t know of any.”
  5. “So far as I know, only two expeditions have ever been successful.”
  6. "Yes. They would kill us before we reached the Chamber."
  7. "The Aelfinn and Eelfinn. They can heal injuries such as yours. But they won't do it without a deal, and you can only make one if you get to the Chamber of Bonds."
  8. Little did he know, the poison that had almost claimed him still lay dormant within him, waiting for the right time to burst forth.
  9. Nameless finally spoke, reluctant. "The Chamber of Bonds, in the tower of Ghenjei. We'd never reach it. And even if we did, we'd never make it out alive."
  10. “I-no, I don’t.” Nameless hesitated, doubt flickering over his face. “It wouldn’t work. We’d all die before we got anywhere near the chamber.”
  11. "The problem? Your condition, of course." Nameless "I wish I could do something to help you. Really, I do. If there was any possible way for me to help you, I'd do so."
  12. "Alright... could be one of those side effects. And I don't feel guilty. Well, not really."
  13. "What?" Nameless turned back towards TAAron, shocked. "How would you know that?"
  14. Nameless glanced back, guilt only growing stronger. "I know that. If I'd known the situation better I would have acted differently, but I didn't. There's no use grieving about it."
  15. Nameless shook his head. "No need to apologize. I would be scared in your position too. In constant pain, spirit damaged irrep-" Nameless cut off, looking away. "I'm sorry this had to happen to you, TAAron. I truly am." He turned to leave, and to TAAron's eyes he looked almost guilty about something. And scared, more than he'd admitted.
  16. Nameless grimaced. "No, I'm not afraid of you. In some ways you do remind me of something I could have been, something I fear I could still become, but your condition is different from mine in other ways."
  17. "I'm afraid of a lot, but the biggest ones are going insane and killing everyone close to me, Brandon Sanderson dying before finishing the Cosmere, dying, and chickens."
  18. Nameless turned, face conflicted. "Are you scared?"
  19. Nameless picked TAAron up and carried him back to the medbay, where the doctors explained the unconscious patient's condition.
  20. The claws clattered to the floor, then launched themselves into Darth Barnacle's chest, where they began the excruciatingly painful process of twisting him into a servant of the Named ones.
  21. They found a Named one there, sharpening its claws.
  22. Nameless stepped back in shock. "I'm Nameless. Don't you remember me?" He glared at Thaidakar. "Not helping."
