Finished volume 15 of ReZero, and I'm very excited to finally go on to volume 16 and read content I haven't read before. I'm very curious to see where the story goes.

Thomas is known as the Partitioner, but that's just his title. All of the Dominion have a title. Kevin's is Thousand Hand Guardian, and Gaius' is Soaring Phoenix. Thomas is technically above Kevin, however. Thomas is the second in command of Ein Selnate, the leader of the Dominion. But in terms of title, they're the same.

When you say "Paladin/monk dude", do you mean Kevin? If so, he's actually the main character of Sky 3rd. He's great, one of the peak characters in the series. And then Falcom promptly forgets about him after this game. They give him a small reference in CS4, and a small reference in Kuro (THAT THEY HAD TO PATCH IN, it's insane, in Kuro there's an image of all of the Dominions we know but originally Kevin wasn't there, they had to patch him in later because they straight up forgot about him, it's baffling)

It's determined via a bunch of choices you make throughout the game. Basically any time you're asked to choose between Elie, Randy, and Tio, you're raising their points. There might also be other things that boost their relationship points with you? I don't remember. It should be noted that none of the final bond events have anything overtly necessary in Zero (they are all canon however, as both Randy and Tio's are referenced in CS, even though you can only do one). However, in Azure, there are three full backstories locked behind the bond points (though thankfully in that game, they can be grinded out I believe by using a new mechanic).

She can do that because she's not the Detective. She couldn't do that in 5

Starting the ReZero light novel, at volume 15, which is the last volume adapted into S2. I wanted to read it rather than jumping into the next arc to get a refresher for the end of S2, as well as to see if there's anything at the end of the book that wasn't adapted because it was being saved for S3. I'm going to be reading this while at home (because I'll be damned if I walk out in public with some of those book covers, volume 17's cover would bring me neverending shame), and continuing to read Darker Shade of Magic whenever I go out.
