It's time for things to go down. Rand is walking right into Suroth's trap and we're inevitably about to get some huge scenes for sure. This is probably gonna make his trust issues even worse. He's still messed up from being locked in that box, I cannot IMAGINE what having an a'dam put on him is gonna do to him.

Oh my god Tuon calls Mat toy even in her internal narration that's funny Also I didn't comment on it before, but it's really interesting how it seems the Seanchan also have hand talk. It's very interesting how two very different cultures from entirely different parts of the world have a similar method of private communication.

Mat is a character that really grows on you as the series goes. Perrin gets all the immediate meat right away, but Mat is the slow burn. He starts fairly unremarkable but as the series goes on he just slowly becomes the best character.

BTW may as well rank my favorite to least favorite POVs for the main characters My POV ranking as of KoD are: 1. Mat 2. Rand 3. Egwene 4. Perrin 5. Nynaeve (this one is awkward because nynaeve doesn't get a lot of povs anymore but this is probably where it'd be that last chapter was really.good but it was one chapter dammit) 6. Elayne Its kind of hard because the ranking is changing constantly depending on what's happening. Perrin would normally be higher, Egwene's plot.is just more fun rn

I've heard that people really dislike Egwene. I read that on TVTropes and then saw a few people say she was their least favorite of the main cast.

This book is doing such a good job at portraying Aes Sedai as the most incompetent group imaginable it's insane. It took Egwene NINE DAYS to basically get every Novice in the Tower on her side. Elaida. All you had to do was kill her. You had ONE JOB! It would have been the easiest thing in the world! Good lord.

I didn't put that in my predictions. I don't know how that's gonna go, it could end this book or it could be something to deal with next book, I have no clue

God damn it's been a hot minute since we got a fight with Trollocs. Have we had a proper fight with Trollocs since Perrin fought them at Emond's Field? I don't think so. Oh my god Lews Therin made a moving Gateway gilloutinne that's so sick Logain knows how to be a more effective WMD now, let's hope he's on our side Jordan is very good at fights. He and Sanderson have such different styles to their fights but I'm so compelled by both of them. Sanderson is really good at getting you to imagine everything that the characters are doing, every single action they make, it's like watching a fight scene from an anime in your head. Jordan is really good at just creating massive setpieces and then showing the sheer destruction

Yeah I remember that Brandon said that he couldn't do it in one without forcing them to make a whole new method of printing. Then of course he goes and does that with Words of Radiance, and subsequently pushes that envelope every Stormlight book afterwards. As you do.

Yeah when I was talking on the Discord I was listing everything that still needs to happen and realized it could easily fit into three books. I think this book will finish one of the three ongoing plotlines, most likely Perrin saving Faile (Egwene and Elayne's plots just got small developments this book while Perrin feels like we're coming up to his conclusion). I think Gathering Storm will be giving Egwene the Tower and Elayne the crown, as well as setting up the fight between Rand and Taim, Mat saving Moiraine, and maybe getting the Seanchan in place to assault the Tower. Then I think Towers of Midnight will be focused on those three things. Rand and Taim will get into a major conflict, the Seanchan will attack the Tower, and Mat will save Moiraine, followed by setting everyone else in their places for the last battle (Rand getting the Seanchan to stop invading and actually help people, getting the Horn to Mat, etc), and the end of the book will be Tarmon Gai'Don starting properly. And then obviously A Memory of Light is just the Last Battle. That's the whole book. That one seems pretty obvious. There's obviously a lot of other smaller things that need to happen, this is far from comprehensive. But those are what I think will be the major conflicts. We obviously still need to resolve a lot of other smaller plot points as well

Alright since Logain has taken most of the Asha'man who aren't under Taim's thumb away from there, I think I can safely put the Black Tower in the "villain" category now Man with all this buildup, I can see why Jordan wanted to finish the series one book after this. It FEELS like Tarmon Gai'don will be next book. How in the world are we gonna stretch this for three more books

I don't like that Renaile is being sent out of the Palace now. I didn't like that right after Elayne said that they had no idea whether Kara could be trusted on her own, they left her on her own with only another former damane for company. That gives me a very bad feeling and I think bad things will happen because of that.

Shannon and Kanon's relationships needing to be mutually exclusive isn't related to the family. It's because they're Furniture, and as they say, Furniture is only half human. As for what that means, that's for you to figure out She does use them for more than eating. It's never established but let's not lie here.

I'm very surprised that the whole "Tuon putting a'dam on three women" thing didn't prompt an actual conversation about it. This conversation has to happen.
