  1. This would be extraordinarily difficult. We don't know that. It does not seem to do much to magical senses otherwise mistborn burning it with bronze would notice.
  2. This is also my assumption. In the SA darkest timeline we will have Kharbranth alone as the sole human outpost as the rest of Roshar is destroyed and starts to look more like the shattered plains where small bands of singers claw out a meager existence.
  3. I am also pretty sure that Jasnah knows something. She claimed to be certain that the oathgate was destroyed. Perhaps she orders the mission to help her mother with historical research into fabrial science?
  4. It is more of a this Spren liked humans from this family. Would you also like to review this one?
  5. Perhaps we get another oathgate opened and a valuable resource on Aimia?
  6. Yeah it is one of the most cited WoBs. It even inspires some roll playing and a bunch of jokes.
  7. We know. That does not make the location a more attractive place to live though.
  8. To be fair Odium only promised that he personally would not order the destruction or Kharbranth he made no promises that any Kharbranthian who attempted to interfere in his plans would not be killed by one of his servants.
  9. That is one theory. Someone came to the same conclusion several months ago. It does require a large number of things to fall into place perfectly but it is defiantly possible.
  10. It is also a word that torments Kaladin's memories and a major theme throughout all the stormlight books. Remember the flashbacks are from his perspective and the windrunner oaths we know have generally been worded by him specifically.
  11. Edit the topic do not double post. Why? It is a perfectly acceptable interpretation but many other people would disagree. I personally think this is just standard rules of triage established by Heralds for the purpose of treating sick people.
  12. Aha a question for which my expertise is called! A lightsaber is a beam of ionized plasma contained in a force field. We have seen shardplate block energy attacks(Adolin on the shattered plains). This indicates that plate can resist the kind of damage that a saber can do and so most likely would be able to survive a number of hits before cracking. Against a shardblade would actually be much more dangerous as neither party could parry the other. Shardblades can go directly through what is in state of matter closer to a liquid but the saber would not be damaged by the event.
  13. I always assumed he was just naturally gifted at a high level and due to some training from a very young age.
  14. You make good points but at least for the second ideal I am fairly confident because of the consistency we have seen across four different orders that are not known to have much in common. Additionally even if telling the truth is a virtue to use your example. Swearing to tell the truth is in service of the ideal and could still be considered service or selflessness.
  15. Perhaps "public order" would be a better wording. We don't know how the oaths originated but they seem to have been developed by sapient beings with the concept of ethics. I really don't see many people going around arguing for a school of ethics that advocates truly selfish behavior. The urgency and desperation of the situation. In a battle situation that is going badly you can't take chances. If you do the same in politics it becomes problematic. Look at Sadeas's death. The consequences were both good and bad for many different people. In the calculus of a battle the only calculation that really matters is does this increase my odds of surviving.
  16. Brandon did mention he was enjoying writing her portions.
  17. That is a theoretically valid interpretation but I personally think that she would have to wait until she new there was no better alternative. Yes Aesudean was a threat but sometimes dealing with a threat is to costly or dangerous to be worthwhile. In Renarin's situation he was a threat. Killing him would have been the safer move. She decided not to a la the fourth oath. The "service" in this case is upholding justice. I personally don't see much point in an order who does not benefit other people. This is quite possible. Excellent reasoning.
  18. She could only kill Aesudean after objectively stating that doing so was better then any alternative. Thanks. A bit much but thanks.
  19. Adolin notes that it looks like it was made from two different metals. You can check Oathbringer
  20. Depends where in his development. He is very chaotic but on a good day he has some good leanings.
  21. To be fair even at the inefficacy rate that Szeth used Stormlight they could be almost anywhere in the entire mountain range. I personally think that they are some of the Tu Bayla people who have settled down. Also welcome.
  22. She was not really bonded then. I also think Jasnah decided not to kill her yet because she had not finished weighing all of the problems that could be caused.
