@18th Shard did a gorgeous re-write of the Alleyverse creation story that could be useful to post here, so we all have a basis of what the Festival of Rebirth is all about when we begin RPing. If you're willing to share, 18th! :]

Probably yeah. If we want to construct a loose order of the evening celebrations we can do that, or we can begin the storyline as the main bonfire is lit and everyone starts to party.

I’ve had Generalized Anxiety Disorder for close to 20 years now, and it’s been relatively routine to cope with the low days/weeks and try to remember the more “normal” days where I can grasp some semblance of calm. I’ve managed to avoid medication and that’s something that I am personally quite pleased with, though I know it can work wonders for others. The last 5 months have been extra strange for me even pre-coronavirus since I found out I was pregnant in December. More anxiety than usual, to say the least. But I also have more of a reason to try and solve these issues in a more permanent fashion now. I don’t want to raise my baby with the ever-present specter of fear hanging over her that I’ve had over me for so much of my life. And now I have more time than ever to try and figure it out. It’s nice to have a reason outside of myself to motivate me towards positive change. Perhaps with enough work on myself, I’ll eventually believe that I’m worth the work in my own right. I have hope! Be kind to yourself, and find your reason - whatever it needs to be. :]

This is true. It could just be a single day and night of official celebrations.

In light of all the fun planning in the Chat Thread, I decided to dress Lita up for next Era's Festival of Rebirth

The "creation myth era" DA could be called something else in-world. "The Scientists" maybe, or the "Designers"?

Totally sensible. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if people dressed up as literally anything. We could have hordes of people dressed up as weird creatures from any and all worlds, heck, even people dressing up as Shards from their home worlds. When else are you going to get to dress up as Ruin, or one of the Hallandren gods? The point of archetypes though is that there aren't very many, because the archetypes play out the "story" of the party and then go back to sleep once the party is over. But yeah, I definitely could see people dressing up as literally whatever they wanted.

That could be the in-world reason everyone celebrates it. We would all celebrate it though because it was designed as a kind of meta-celebration.

Ooh, that is cool! The daytime period could be for looking forward through the year, mapping out plans or goals. Then once night falls, it's time to celebrate! I like the idea of the celebration lasting more than one day. Maybe three? Three is a fun number. I think it would be lots of fun to add in "archetypes" for masks or costumes the way that some cultures do during festivals like this. They could be based on the old timeline, but exist only as mythical people/creatures/or "roles". Since I believe Voidus and the Stranger will both be actual canonized mythology, we could have people dressing up as them (5 Boxings says the Stranger will dress up as the Stranger for some incognito irony ). Some ideas for dress-up archetypes: The Stranger The Lonely God (Voidus) The Spymaster (Mac) The Baker (an important TUBA founder/leader of choice) The Assassin The Scholar The Acolyte The Lady of Shadows (a reference to Aylitha perhaps, in her new role as the boogeyman) Any other suggestions?

We could start off the "carnival" period at its beginning ceremonies maybe, with lots of pomp and anticipation. It could begin in the early evening around sunset. Light a big bonfire, then the fun begins! Everyone is in "inverted time" aka normal rules don't quite apply. Food and drink is rolled out, everyone dances and laughs, and then things can progress through an evening in the way that things do: raucously, and with much chaos

I like the idea of a Summer rebirth festival! Maybe it could act as a hybrid between your more typical Summer Solstice fairs, Halloween [via dressing up], and how we conceptualize New Year celebrations - the masks could indicate resolutions for the coming year, goals, aspirations, that sort of thing. Not required obviously, but it could be fun to add that in there as a "thing people do." Masked events are also awesome for any kind of subterfuge plots people want to do. Inter-guild snooping, criminal fun times, etc.

Masked hijinks is always top of my list for fun plot ideas! I'm all for a "days of misrule" feel, that sounds like lots of fun, with lots of room for antics, capers, and other such plot-enhancing devices.

Maybe it could be something like Carnival or a Founding Day for the city.

Hello everyone! I'm getting excited for the new Era, I don't know about you all. Now, we've got the talented Fatebreaker working on the big, large-scale plot of Era 5 with the world shift and the re-spiking, but I've been wondering what the more tertiary "initial" plot is going to look like. What will everyone be doing with their time before realities begin warping and people start having mental breakdowns remembering alternate timelines? Will it be something similar to this Era, where we have a few side plots going that all eventually converge on a single point? Does anyone have any ideas for things they'd like to pitch as side plots or guild plots, etc? I know there are still some unknowns but the sooner we nail down what kinds of questions everyone has, the sooner we can find out the answers and get things smoothly running on the 15th!

Ahh, now that I do not know. I'd guess sooner than later but I have no idea.

Lita slipped the grey metal coin from the Stranger's palm and turned it over in her hand, feeling the cool surface against her skin. It was smaller than her Coin, and it... felt different. It was a tool, not a talisman. Not a gift. She looked over at Laurelai; the two coins were the same. An odd sense of relief washed over her, followed quickly by confusion, then embarrassment. Don't worry, that little voice whispered as Lita pulled the heat destined for her cheeks into one of her Brass earcuffs instead. You're still special. Out of all the little chess pieces on his board, I'm sure you're his favorite. The words were truth, the cruelest sort of poison. Lita gritted her teeth against the taste of it. "And in that vein I need to know another piece of data. I want both of you to tell me your greatest desire, even if it's impossible. Not here, you may use the coins when you are ready, but soon." Lita looked up at that, and the blurred echoes of what she had seen in the Chapel of Rain pulsed with recollection - even though she could make little sense of them. But this was no idle fancy the Stranger spoke of. Somehow, Lita knew he was serious. Her greatest desire... She had so many desires, so many ambitions. Which of those was her greatest? The Stranger was still speaking, his voice ringing through the room, the air resonating with light and shadow and magic as he spoke. For a moment - just a moment - Lita allowed herself to become enveloped in that power, to be swept up in the kind of possibility that was only visible to gods and fools. She let herself believe the lie, a beautiful lie, and a dangerous one at that. The most dangerous kind - the sort that was very nearly the truth. Light filled the room, filled the Alley, and it swirled around them all in a glorious wave of sound and wonder. Then, Lita was alone. The light faded, and the world resolved into... her room. Her room, behind the blue door. She started, looking around, half-expecting to see the Stranger sitting in one of the chairs at her little table like he had the first time she'd met him. Your work begins, a path of shadows to tread. I am waiting... Lita turned at his whispered voice, flaring her Tin for any signs of life around her. But there was nothing. Just the grey coin in her hand, and the gold Coin in her pocket, and the work to be done. The work. Over two years and a universe away, and she was still someone's little Tineye. Anger warred with awe within her, and fear with fascination. She was being used, and she knew it. This was the way of the world - of every world. The worst part was that even as she hated herself for it, she wanted to impress him with all her good work. She wanted someone to follow, even if it meant following a hungry shadow ever further into darkness. With a sigh, Lita slipped the grey coin into her other pocket and crossed toward her little kitchen, flicking the switch on the electric kettle. While the water boiled, she dropped a tea bag into a mug and got a pad of paper and a pen out of a drawer. Then, she began to write down everything she could remember of what she had seen in the water. This was her one advantage, the one card she had to play. Lita had seen the Stranger in that moment between heartbeats. No, she hadn't seen him, she had Known him. In that frozen place, he wasn't a stranger any longer. He had a history, he had a name. And he had a plan even grander and more terrifying than he let on. If she could just remember it... Then she might finally have some real power. And maybe she could be her own little Tineye for once. @Fatebreaker @Voidus

I would think initially, no. Since the entire timeline will have shifted, any stored memories will also be altered because history literally happened in other ways. However as things begin to leak through your character might be in a better position to realize that something weird is happening. This is just my guess however.

Voidus and the Stranger as they near the end of the Era. "What have I become, my sweetest friend? Everyone I know goes away in the end."
