Jenny looked up. Somehow Aaron was managing to become even more annoying. She reminded herself that he was only twelve, and kids that age were naturally prone to being annoying. ”You’re a really great brother!” She decided that Lucid was definitely a very good person.
-
Jenny tilted Gift so that she could see the back of her head. Her hair looked wonderful. Her grin widened. ”It really does look amazing, Lucid! You’re fantastic at this.” @Wierdo
-
Jenny smiled back and stowed the brush away. She stuck her purple flower in between the braids. Eying Aaron’s watch, she wondered what the stickers of a blue dog were from. They looked cute. @Scars of Hathsin
-
Jenny excitedly clapped her hands. ”Thank you so much!” She mentally asked Gift to please turn into a mirror again. @Weaver of Lights
-
Jenny resisted the urge to shift about as Lucid did her hair. She found herself relying quite a bit on Gift to stay upright after being on her feet for a few minutes.
-
“Yes!” Jenny removed the flower from behind her ear in case it would mess anything up.
-
“Yep!” Jenny dug around in her bag for a moment, then pulled out a brush and handed it to Lucid. She was practically giddy with excitement.
-
Jenny thought for a moment. ”Can you surprise me?” Lucid would probably know more about hairstyle stuff than she would.
-
Jenny blushed too. ”I think I’ll be fine if I’m careful. I don’t want to eat too much ambrosia at once, and our supply is dwindling.” She carefully fixed her bandages, trying not to mess with the scabbing. Jenny’s face immediately brightened. Lucid’s kindness dispelled some of the lingering sadness from the others’ rude comments. ”Yes please!”
-
“I’ll probably be fine to travel. My side feels better. I changed my bandages pretty late yesterday and haven’t bled too much more, so I think I’m fine for now.” Jenny very delicately peeled back a small section to look at the wound. It seemed fine, although she had no idea what it was supposed to look like. ”I don’t think the wound’s infected. It’s not green, at least. Infected stuff is green, right?” She once again waved at Lucid. @Wierdo

Granted. It’s the script to the Bee Movie. I wish for my favorite soccer team to always win. -
“I don’t think that’s a real possibility. I promise I’ll keep an eye on the flower and avoid leaning over people who sleep with their mouths open.” Roy was either wildly paranoid or just trying to be annoying. Maybe it was a bit of both.
-
“Thank you.” Ed seemed to be trying to comfort her. That must mean Roy had been trying to insult her. She didn’t feel quite as bad when Roy did that compared to other people. Roy was a liar who was just trying to hurt her. ”Why?” Odd that a flower worried Roy.
-
Jenny smiled at this, then closely scrutinized her reflection. She adjusted the flower once more, then nodded in satisfaction. It looked nice, at least to her. ”Thank you?” Jenny wasn’t sure if Roy was complementing her or not. It would be a strange compliment, although she supposed any compliment would sound strange coming from Roy.
-
“Thanks!” Ed has been honest about her braid, so he was probably being honest about this. People generally seemed to think that flowers were pretty, so ideally it would help Jenny look pretty too. She fiddled with the flower some more, wishing that she had a mirror of some sort.
-
Jenny hobbled over to her bag and rooted through it. She retrieved a small pouch and fished around inside it. Pulling out a red death flower, she inspected it for a moment. She then put it back and grabbed a purple one instead. Jenny carefully straightened out the squished petals as well as she could, then stuck it behind her ear. Maybe an accessory would help her look better.
-
Jenny gave a weak smile. She didn’t want Ed to be sad too. ”Thanks.” That was for both Ed and Gift. She leaned on Gift, testing out its new form. It improved her mobility quite well, although the quickest she would be able to reliably move was just below speedwalking. Hopefully it wasn’t too far of a walk to the train.
-
“Oh, ok.” Jenny wasn’t sure if Aaron was being genuine or just trying to make her feel better after realizing his comment had hurt her. She took her bun down. Best for her face not to be shown in the paper regardless of the reason.
-
Had Aaron been talking about her? On the surface his comment made sense. Having her face in the newspaper would be bad. But something about the way he had said it, calling her appearance “that”, felt like it was mean. Like there was something wrong with her face. Her expression saddened slightly. Ed thought she looked great, but was he just exaggerating to cheer her up? Maybe he was the only person who thought she was pretty. Maybe she looked ugly to everyone else. @Scars of Hathsin

I saw baby hummingbirds once, although only their beaks sticking out over the side of the nest were visible. They’re super adorable! TPBM is wearing green.
-
“I think I’m ok for now. I can walk on my own and talk at a loud volume again!” That last part she said rather loudly and with a grin. Jenny cocked her head, confused. ”A picture of what?”
-
“Well then it’s too late to do anything about it. If someone other than Terrance collapses, we can just give them gorgon blood. We’ll give Terrance ambrosia first to make sure it’s not the other thing that happened yesterday.” Jenny finished her bun. Raising her arms too much hurt, so it was a pretty messy one.
-
“I’m pretty sure we would’ve been killed in our sleep already if monsters were nearby.” Jenny briefly glanced around, anyways. Everything seemed clear. ”And maybe having two people per watch from now on is a good idea.” @Wierdo
-
“To test how much it hurts. Yesterday, poking it was more painful. That means it’s healing pretty well.” Was Roy concerned that Jenny was hurting herself or just curious? She decided that she didn’t want the answer to that question and started putting her hair back up into a bun. That was the most convenient hairdo in the event they got into yet another monster fight.
