    Ben smiled back at Shana and got goosebumps when she brushed his arm. He didn’t dare move, however, for fear he would mess up his stance.

    Ben stood next to Shana and attempted to stand how she had told him to. He sucked in a tiny bit of stormlight, just enough to allow him to move faster and gain a bit of strength. He wasn't going to be using his surges. He was careful to hold his weapon in the correct grip.

    Ben was curious about what had happened that involved drowning and Rob. He decided to not ask Shana about it, though, as she clearly wasn't comfortable talking about it.

    "Thanks!" Ben accepted the blade and smiled. It looked very similar to one Glint would have formed. Shana was so thoughtful. "Wait, drowning?" Flid said. "Don't worry- I can heal practically anything, so we should be safe." Ben attempted to smile at him reassuringly. @Emperor Stick

    “Sounds good. I can just use my Shardblade in a dulled form.” He tried summoning Glint, but all he got in reply was a weak “Busy”. ”Erm, Glint doesn’t want to come, so looks like I need a training weapon. Uh, Shana, what would you suggest I use?”

    “I will be on Shana’s team, since she is my girlfriend.” Ben made sure to emphasize the girlfriend part. He felt extremely uncomfortable and had no idea how to causally mention something like that. He hoped he hadn’t messed anything up.

    Ben smiled back at Shana. He really hoped James would get her nonverbal message. Ben waved back. The backyard was starting to get a bit crowded.

    “Doc can certainly help with that. Wherever he is.” Ben paused for a moment, thinking. ”You said that you were a Junior last year. Are you still in school?” Ben was curious if he would see him in school at all.

    Ben shook his hand. Without Glint there, he had no idea if he had done it correctly. “It’s fine. Talking to people can be hard.” He internally winced. Did I really just say that? In front of Shana no less... He attempted to change the subject. He could tell it was making them both rather uncomfortable. ”So, James, how long have you been a Radiant?”
