    Ben opened the door and stepped inside. He almost did a double take at the extremely utilitarian surroundings. How could Rob stand the blandness, the boring simplicity? He didn’t even have a proper bed. Ben felt sadness for him. What had been done to him to cause him to want such a depressing room? He looked back at Rob. He was sitting up- that was a good sign. “Hey, Rob. How are you feeling?”

    “Sure.” Ben gently eased her back downwards. ”Stay lying down until I get back. It should prevent most of the dizziness.” Ben stood up and left Shana’s room, softly closing the door behind him. He went to Rob’s room and knocked on the door. ”Rob? It’s Ben.” @I think I am here.

    Ben hugged Shana close to him. ”But you didn’t. There is no use dwelling on the past, what you could have done, should have done. If we spent all of our time doing that, we’d never be able to enjoy or improve the present.” Ben paused, fighting to keep his voice from quivering. He needed to learn that lesson as well. Talking about it still brought up painful memories.
