  1. Riva’s eyebrows shot up. “Oh, calm down, Caden, this is good for you.”
  2. “They’re so tight. How do you go day to day walking around like-“ there was a large crack in Caden‘s neck and shoulders. “Well that’s ought to feel nice.”
  3. “Fine with me,“ said Riva, continuing to massage Caden‘s shoulders with her thumbs. She had become a master of anatomy in her years of service to the crown and using her knowledge to help instead of hurt was more gratifying than she had originally expected it to be. “Although,” she continued, “if we are going to share a room, I’m going to see you with your shirt off sooner or later. I can sleep somewhere else, but I keep my clothes in here to change. I’m assuming you do too.” She came across a muscle muscle that was particularly tight and grimaced, applying more pressure. “Darling dearest, your poor shoulders.”
  4. "Awwww, you poor thing, you're so tight." Riva appeared genuinely concerned as she rubbed him. "You just relax, I'm going to make you feel like a new man." She paused. "This would be easier if you were laying down. And if you had your shirt off."
  5. With a scoff, Riva walked around the chair and put her hands on Caden's shoulders, rubbing them.
  6. "You're clearly in pain and I can help," Riva said, folding her arms.
  7. Riva glared at him. "Chiropractics is not witchcraft."
  8. Riva sighed and got up off of the bed. "You know, I'm not surprised you have joint issues. The way you slouch is horrendous. If you stand up, I can help you."
  9. There was a moment of silence. "So..." said the Raven. "About sharing tonight..."
  10. "Neither am I in any way beautiful, general, but you complimented my eyes as if they were. So here we are."
  11. "Don't worry, you're too cute to murder, Mr. Praetorium." Riva winked.
  12. Riva cackled suddenly. "I WOULD GET THE BED."
  13. "But what shall I do when you die?" Riva said flatly. "You would leave me on my own?"
  14. "What, would you rather die in battle because your legs cramp up?"
  15. Riva nodded. Interesting. “Well, the nice thing about a quiet skill like painting - or potion making - is that you can do it up into your old age. And you’ll need a hobby like that for when you do retire one day.”
  16. Thanks for the well wishes, everyone! Today was a truly magical day; I got to meet @The Ward's Guard for the first time and I have to say, he is truly an angel and I love him so much. (We are, by the way, an item, in case anyone didn’t know)

  17. “Well I don’t know.” She sat back in the pillows and picked at her fingernails. “You sure liked my art though. Maybe you could be…. An artist. A painter.” Again, she watched closely for his reaction. Acalia had said she’d taught Caden how to paint.
  18. “Hmm.” She smirked. “Liar. terrible liar.”
  19. “What if you could though?” Riva mused. “What would you be?”
  20. “Oh yes. Someone with your skill would have had to have been trained…. Oh practically since they were a baby.” She eyed him, recalling Acalia’s tales of Caden’s brutal childhood training.
  21. She simply smiled at him. “Well, are you? Retiring?”
  22. “Awwww, poor Cady,” said Riva, using Acalia’s nickname for him. She would be carefully watching his reaction. “Well, I’m old too. Older than I would like to admit.” She paused. “Do you plan to retire soon?”
  23. “In theory, yes, but she’s got the guards in her pockets.”
  24. “Oh she wouldna hurt Alienor. But she’d a-hurt me for sure.”
  25. "But it shouldna be!" Nico sighed, head in hands. "I feels like I shouldna told ya nuttin', but I'm a terrible liar, so I guess it's Allivia's fault she roughed up me face."
