    “Yes. One would think. I would like to search for the thing.”

    “They’re not fairytales. I have seen things and now I believe. You should believe too.”

    “Yes, actually. Ive been told you have a sword in this castle. One that belongs to me.”

    “Clearly.” He glared, a chilling expression with his white eyes.

    “Perhaps. He loved me though. What little brother doesn’t love their older siblings?”

    “I could have helped him,” Maverick said. “He was my brother.”

    “Well yes.” He stoked his cat. “It…. Rather upsets me that you disposed of him.”

    Maverick put his feet up, making himself right at home. After feeding on the guards' fear, he felt completely renewed from the journey here. He had taken Forge with him; the cat hardly cared about his new appearance, his new aura.

    Weeks had passed since Maverick had been transformed. He'd felt different ever since. There were they physical changes; his white eyes, his enlarged muscles, his pale skin, the new growl in his voice. And then there were the... other differences. The stranger whispers in his head, the ones he was inclined to follow. Even the way he saw the world had been altered slightly. The only way he could describe it was that he saw people's souls. And he... he hungered for them. His master hungered. And Maverick was all too inclined to serve. And so it was that today he served his master by entering the castle, requesting an audience with the king. The guards were frightened by his white eyes and strange purple robes, but let him through anyway. It probably had something to do with Maverick's new aura. The one that bathed everyone around him in paralyzing fear. Maverick was slowly learning that he could absorb that fear, use it as sustenance. What other powers had he been blessed with just weeks ago? Maybe his excursion would help him find out. @Channelknight Fadran

    Oh my Shards. So, I'm listening to RoW and it said, "Kaladin picked up his sacks," but since I'm in band, I heard, "Kaladin picked up his sax(ophone)."

    Inktober thread is up!

    I know it's not October yet, but with how busy I am, I've decided to do the prompts every other day. No, I am not just starting early because I'm so excited, why would you think that.

    Prompt 1; Crystal, featuring Pheonix Blaze from CBST with a dream crystal. Okay, so I gotta say right off the bat, I'm not ridiculously proud of this one. I do think there are some things I did super well, like Pheo's hand and the crystal. But that said, I really think the pencil drawing turned out better than the final product. That happens sometimes. A big reason for that is his fire hair; fire hair is hard, y'all. So, I tried a few new things with this one. One of them was the shine on the crystal and holy crap was that an experiment that worked. The other one is something I'm still working at. Pheonix is Asian (which is a more recent change) and I'm really not used to drawing that. I'm definitely getting better, but I have a lot of work to do. Anyway, I hope you like this first installment. I will be back again not tomorrow, but Monday with more art.

    *fanfare plays* It's that time of year again. Artists! To your paper! Grab your ink pens! On your marks, get set, DRAW! Okay, so it's not technically October yet... BUT holy Shards am I busy this year. So I have decided that instead of drawing every day, I will draw every other day. And I'll start today! Which means that y'all will get your first piece tomorrow! Seriously, you guys have no idea how excited I've been about this. I bought new markers and paper for it months ago and on September 1st, I just kept refreshing the site, desperate for the moment the list came out. Since then, I've worked VERY hard every day to plan for each drawing and get references for it. The line up of drawings I have planned is gonna be wild and I think y'all will love it. I know I'll certainly be having fun! I'm so excited to go on this journey again with all of you! Now, I know that a lot of you like the drawings to be surprises, BUT I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a discord server where I post my process in depth.     The pair ventured out together side by side in the crisp, autumn evening air. Their destination was a pawn shop where Riva had spotted some puppy supplies earlier. As they entered, the bell above the door rang.
