"Snap out of it, don't you understand what he wants? He wants us dead or captured. You would never turn yourself in, AJ. This is not your fight."

"What can you do? If I had my Shard, I could find a way to fix this. What can you, with your bluntness, do at all? You're powerless against this. And despite what you think, you would not be a monster to let it happen. Not many have the strength to go through with it anyway."

"Oh, trust me. I've felt deaths before. Felt guilt like that. This is not something you can help. Not a fight you can win."

"He's done something to you. Can't you feel it? Stop for a moment. Wait. For me."

Thought sprinted after, grabbing him around the waist, hauling him back, trying to get him to the ground. "What is wrong with you?"

Something was not right. "I need you here, you have no obligation below." She gripped his shoulders, turning him to face her and staring into his eyes. "Look at me. Forget whatever is bothering you and sit.

Thought glared, standing up and grabbing his arm. "You will stay. Right. Here."

Thought reached for his mind, before cursing herself. "AJ, stay here," she growled.

"Stay," Thought said firmly, not even looking at him.

What's weirder to think about is that Stormlight will end eventually.

Dalinar is amazing. And yes, it's mildly frustrating that we don't know as much about all of the Orders. All in due time, I suppose.

Thought had leaned forward, putting her hands on the table.

When you freak out and start fangirling when you realize that your 5th grade teacher was named Mrs. Edgli. (seriously)

Thought listened intently. She was genuinely curious.

Thought was captivated by the story. It was like standing in a tunnel and hearing her own voice echo from the other end, just barely reaching her ears. This story was about someone from another life. But she knew it somehow.

"Please continue," Thought said to Tom.

Thought turned to AJ. "Oh really? You don't know what I was. I danced in the sky, I ran with creeks, and I sang with the wind. And then, because of you, I lost it all. It's gone." She shut her mouth, realizing AJ's expression and the words coming out of her own mouth. Flooding in to fill her anger came that sinking feeling from when she had first understood what she had lost. The pressure closed in on her chest, making it hard to breathe. "I'm sorry," she said, shutting down again.

Thought took a shallow breath. "And now I'm nothing."
