  1. Okay, I am seriously so proud of this one and so excited to share it with everyone! Today's prompt is "Swing" and I've drawn Xino, the tried and true. That's his title now, I'm calling it. I was surprised to learn that he has glasses just yesterday - kind of embarrassing, considering he's been around for as long as Star has. Xino has always been this sort of larger than life character, so I tried to turn that on its head. He's wearing a T-shirt and jeans and the edge of his shirt is coming up as he's going to swing. Yet the bracers and flaming sword scream that he's more than just a regular person. It's no wonder Sophie has a crush on this boy, he's a keeper.
  2. Including Xino... Sophie thought. Including Ember and Heather and... "Me."
  3. "No... no it doesn't... But... Michael. CBST is safe. Why isn't it affecting them there?"
  4. Sophie paled. "Oh. Right. Um... how are we going to get out of this?"
  5. "That's okay..." Sophie muttered, wiping her eyes. Then she brightened. "I'm 150!!"
  6. Granite swallowed. He wore a Mistcloak now and his pockets were full of different vials containing his metals. He glanced at Jay, then back at Astral. And he shook his head. "My mother left me," he said, eyes dark. "She doesn't care. So why should you?" With that, he dropped a coin and Steelpushed away. Astral drew her lips into a frown. Ah, well.
  7. “Hello, Granite.” Granite turned. Standing behind him was a tall woman, wearing all black. She seemed to suck the light out of the air. He paled, stepping back. “Who are you?” he said. “You don’t remember?” she said sadly, edging forward. “Why, Granite, I’m your mother.” “S-star?” “No, darling. But close. I am called Astral. Star’s better half.” Astral came close to him and leaned down, touching his face. Her fingers were cold. “I haven’t seen you in so long,” she said. “My, how you’ve grown. I remember holding you in my arms. Now look at you.” There were tears in her eyes. “You look like your father. Those eyes…” Granite stepped away. “I don’t know who you are,” he said. She sighed, sorrow written in her bearing. “No, I suppose you wouldn’t. But you are my son. A mother knows her son.”
  8. Astral looked at her long, black nails. "That you failed," she said in her low, silky voice. "What else?"
  9. "Just means I have to get my hands a little dirty," Astral sighed. She slit the throat of her nephew, letting Max's body drop to the floor at her feet. "Not that I don't enjoy that."
  10. The dark something raised an eyebrow. "You don't get as angry as Star."
  11. It had lodged into eye instead, going through his brain.
  12. Xam had, of course, thrown a dagger through Max's heart before the withergeists got to him.
  13. But it melted before he could do so. And Max died. Because the above post was not bolded.
  14. A dark something grinned. "That's lazy. Try again."
  15. Which the withergeists had eaten in their game show.
  16. And Max, Jay's godson. The poor boy was writhing in pain on the floor. Nothing could save him.
  17. Such as french fries; everything was exotic to them.
  18. Withergeists were black creatures that faded in and out of reality. They had glowing red eyes, thin wings with holes in them, and wicked teeth.
