Okay, I just had a huge influx of RP ideas, and this one just happened to be the first one I decided to pop down onto the internet. Let's set the scene. The year is 1429 on a planet somewhere (I think it could be fun to RP new years eve, with the turn of the decade at some point in the RP), the height of the middle ages in the kingdom of Mendahar. (Yes, this is a Masquerade prequel, fight me. No, you do not have to know anything about Masquerade to participate) The king's firstborn happened to be a girl of great magic abilities, but with a fragile mind. She has since been exiled, both for her powers, and her less-than-ideal mental state. Presently, a would-be-king tries to overthrow the kingdom with a group of lackeys promised positions of power. The princess (Nyx Thadel - my character) can be manipulated into joining their forces. Anyway, please let me know if there's any interest, and I'd love to start this up! This can go any number of directions, and will probably have a Mistborn-y feel with the crew and whatnot. Plus, there's room for lots of people to participate!

Nyx Thadel - Riva Praetorium's mother - was a very powerful witch. So powerful in fact, that after using her to take over the kingdom, king Jahrdor imprisoned her under guard in a hut in the woods. Here she is in all her fabulous glory.

Update on the neck; we saw a neurosurgeon and HE said he didn't see anything wrong with me on the MRI. Which just... absolutely pisses me off. Apparently the radiologist was wrong? Apparently I'm insane for having so much pain every day for three years? I dunno. But we're going to see another specialist in June down in Iowa City.
I cannot tell you how upsetting today has been. I thought that we finally had answers and that there was a clear path to fixing things, but now that hope is just gone. Hopefully we'll get some more answers from the next doctor, but who knows... in the meantime... I guess I'll just keep trekking like I always have.

So. For those of you who aren’t aware, I suffer from chronic neck and back pain. Recently I had an MRI to see what the problem was because my dad was worried I had a herniated disc. Normally they would not check a 16-year-old for a problem like this, but my dad had a herniated disc, my grandpa had a herniated disc, and my aunts and uncles had herniated discs. Well, the results of the MRI are in and not only do I have a herniated disc, but I have bone that is growing weirdly, very inflamed muscles, and my other disc is about to herniate. This might not sound like good news, but I am elated. I’ve suffered from these issues for long enough and now that we finally know what the problem is, we can work on fixing it. It’ll be a long road, but I’m willing to take it to finally get better.
We won’t do a surgery immediately because the surgery puts strain on the neck and they’d rather not have me live the rest of my life like that. They’re going to try a lot of different things like a (painful) steroid injection in my spine first. I will have to also go through weird acupuncture electricity tests to see just how bad it is. So… Wish me luck I guess.

“Spheres, please.” She poured the wine into a glass.

“That costs,” Zeoy said. “But okay.” She went back to the wall of bottles.

Zeoy ran her fingers over a few labels, finally landing on a horizontal alcove with a tall glass bottle. She pulled it out, then shook it up. The liquid inside had bright blue bubbles that floated around like oil in water. She poured it into a shot glass, then pulled a large lighter from beneath the counter. For a whole thirty seconds, she held the lighter above the liquid. The blue bubbles floated to the surface and burst, forming into crystals. Zeoy smiled, pushing the small cup across the counter. “Here. Enjoy.”

Zeoy smiled. “I can mix something up. Give me a moment.” She gracefully poured the water into a decorative glass cup, pushing it over to him. “Here ya are.”

Zeoy looked at him flatly. “We stopped serving that ages ago. Had an incident a while back.” Zeoy waved with one hand, the other one grabbing a jug of lemon infused water for Thaidakar. “Greetings!”

“Just water, sugar?” Zeoy asked.
