I found the video and yeah you're right, It was about WOR. Brandon still admitted to letting the editor pushing him around. I also think "The Book of Endless Pages" is a better title then "Words of Radiance" but I'll admit to being a little stubborn at the moment. I'm going to predict the last book in the series that will focus on Jasnah will be named The Book of Endless Pages.

I remember seeing the YouTube video Sanderson made about the title of Stormlight 5. Sanderson had said he was originally considering naming the book "The Book of Endless Pages." His editors made him reconsider because it didn't make sense to name the book that, solely because it does not, in fact, have endless pages. This got me a little hot and bothered. Does his editors think the fans are going to be confused because the book has a finite amount of pages? Like we are all going to say "tHaT boOK iS nOt EndLeSs!" It has really got me storming because I think "The Book of Endless Pages" is a great title. Come on Brandon, don't let your brain dead editors push you around. Sorry, this topic is more of just me venting my frustrations, but there's got to be more fans feeling this way. I kinda hate the title that was chosen. It doesn't even sound like a complete title. "Wind and Truth" really? I would like to point out that this title choice in no way discourages me from being excited about getting my hands on "Wind and Truth." I think it's going be storming awesome. It just could have had a better title, is all.

Just some interesting ideas of what some unknown god metals could do for Allomancy, Feruchemy, and Hemalurgy. Anyone have any cool ideas they want to share? Allomantic Pull - hear surface thought of any sentient being. Allomantic Push - Project thoughts to any sentient being Basically just telepathy. Feruchemy - Store physical realm presence. When you are storing, you become less tangible and can phase through objects. If stored more rapidly, you will be pulled into the cognitive realm. Tapping rapidly enough will pull you back into the physical realm. Tapping it in the physical realm will also hide you from those who have methods of sensing you through the cognitive and spiritual realm. Feruchemy - Store external kinetic investiture. Basically you can siphon other abilities that are actively being used. Tapping it will allow you to use that ability until your metal mind is drained. You can also take in external investiture like storm light as it is always leaking out of gems.

Brandon sanderson has confirmed that Mraize is native to Roshar, so they wouldn't be brothers.

It's when Shallan first meets the Ghost Bloods.

"Of the half-dozen or so people in the room, one drew her attention most. Straight-backed, with jet-black hair, he wore white clothing and stood in front of the room’s crackling hearth. He reminded her of someone, a man from her childhood. The messenger with the smiling eyes, the enigma who knew so much. Two blind men waited at the end of an era, contemplating beauty. . . ." (WOR) This got me wondering if there is some deep connection between hoid and Mraize. Why would Shallan think of Hoid by just looking at Mraize's back? I don't really have anything solid but the way this is written just feels like it means something. It has a feeling of light and dark, or Mraize is something like Hoids future adversary. Like they are the two blind men contemplating beauty. This is all based on the above quote and I wished I new more about Mraize. I am probably overanalyzing this but it makes Mraize someone to take note of.

I as wonder if things from different cognitive realm locations could even show up as a bead or flame. As Nightblood is from Nalthis.

Would Nightblood have a bead, a flame, or something different all together in shadesmar?

There are many more, but those two were the first to come to mind.

Atium I always picture as a black beed even though it is clearly described as silvery, I can never seem to mentally agree on the size of Nightblood, and all shard blades look like they come out of final fantasy 10. -

Step by step process of medallion creation.

Yeah. The Excisors plays an important role in all of this. A lot of the theories here make reasonable points, but I can't get behind any of this without know what the Excisors is.- 53 replies

How characters are described vs how the appear in your head.

I have the same problem with Renarin. He always seems to have feathery blonde hair. -
I have been listing to the stormlight audiobooks will working and driving and I found that I would sometimes subconsciously picturing the characters incorrectly. For instance, Kaladin has long loose hair, but I can't help but picture him with a ponytail. I'm sure that he could have it tied back but when his hair is mentioned it is always loose and covering his brands. I also never seem to picture the brands unless I am think about them. I also can't seem to help but picture Dalinar with a beard. Some times he is clean shaven but then all of a sudden he has a neatly trimmed beard. There are many more examples but I want to know if anyone else can't help but picture characters differently. Also do you picture the story play out like a cartoon or real life? I mostly see it as a cartoon but I sometimes subconsciously switch to life like.

Oh I know that she is the best choice for queen, dicpite being the second choice to Adolin, which is kind of an insult to Jasnah in a way.

I loved Denth, but to be honest this book did grab really grab my attention with the characters. Its probably due to Siri taking up a good portion of the book and I found her POV pretty boring. I also liked Vivienna and her character growth. I wish that she could have been more focused on over Siri. I don't hate Siri and the story was still pretty good. Can't wait for the sequel and get more details on Vasher, Vivenna, and Nightblood.

I don't know. I can't see Kaladin being as accepting as a lot of you suggest. I think there will be a lot of friction on Kaladin's end which will make their journey toward trusting each other more interesting. I did not start this discussion thinking Kaladin will never accept Szeth, just not right off the bat.
-
Szeth wouldn't fall under this. In fact Kaladin opposing him joining would fall under his protective nature. He's not protecting Szeth. (which you probably didn't mean but that's how it came across.) Yes they do. Kaladin as clearly been shown to struggle with his personal feelings and what is truly the right thing to do. And I'm not convinced that Kaladin would think Szeth has paid for his crime after seeing him still alive. I think maybe I could've been clearer about what I was getting at with this discussion. I'll focus on Kaladin because I pretty much agree with Jasnah taking a calculated risk. What do you think Kaladin might say in objection to Szeth joining ( if you think he would object) and how do you think Dalinar, Jasnah, or any other core character might respond to convince Kaladin to give trust the decision? I'm just trying to imagine how the conversation would go. I get why Dalinar would be forgiving. I'm mostly curious of how Kaladin will be convinced. I can only think that he would be unenthusiastic following Dalinar's orders, which is fine but I wanted to see if anyone had thought of a better reason. I guess I'll wait and see.
-
I get way Vader Syndrome would be a useful story tool and I don't find it unbelievable that they let him in. I was just seeing what people thought about how Szeth being allowed in went down. Also I'm sorry but I can't believe that Kaladin would be accepting because of his experience with Elhokar. It apples and oranges, both are fruit but pretty different fruit. And Jasnah is not always a calculating robot. If she was then Renarin would probably be dead. You might be right, but it's a little too shallow. But the characters are more then just what order they are in.
-
Why did the Knights Radiant let Szeth in? We NEED to see the conversation that had to of took place about Szeth joining the team in the next book. It drove me a little crazy that this was left out of Oathbringer, but I could understand way it might of been cut. The book was pretty long already and I wouldn't be happy with a rushed out version. It also probably did flow naturally with the ending. I'm curious about how all the main characters rationalized allowing szeth to join. I can kind of get way Dalinar might let him in, but Jasnah and Kaladin!? Szeth killed a member of bridge 4 which would be irredeemable for Kaladin and Jasnah being slow to trust others would be an understatement. Also Szeth killed her father which she spent so much effort trying to prevent. What theories does anyone have on how the group aloud Szeth in? I'm sure that Sanderson will address this in the next book.
-
Understandable I guess.

Thanks for the clarification. I will hold my hand over open flame to pay for my ignorance.

Exactly:) it's fun to imagine the two spren with personality similar to crowley and aziraphale. Lol

I don't think I hate any cosmere characters. But Siri was kind of boring, which made Warbreaker probably my least favorite book (All though I still enjoyed Warbreaker.)
