  1. Just read the write-up and I gotta say, total bullcrap, if Coma's post is accurate, on both sides. Bendalloy would be the one to slow things down around the bubble, not Cadmium. I'd say he would've died right at the beginning, impaled on his own sword.
  2. Dang, Emeralis, Ambro is a jerk! Killing a crying man! Don't worry about going overboard though, just know that there will be repercussions for such things. If he goes around kicking puppies, well, he might just find himself getting kicked. Preferably by a giant puppy. As for the Claymore, define "half-monster" for me. To what extent are they non-human? Yes, Eero, this will be quite interesting.
  3. Marketplace, Crook of the Plains - Eerongal The merchant's grin broadens. "Well, certainly, good sir knight!" You can't tell whether or not he is making fun of you. "How many people, and how far or long do you intend to go? I can have the proper gear together in a number of minutes. As for your other needs, well, I can't fill a pothole without a light to see by, if you catch my meaning." His smile gets even wider, something that seemed impossible.Blacksmith's Forge - Jay'El "Well, if you have a few hours, I can get you ready by twilight, mid-afternoon if I really push it. It's a delicate process, so you might want to take notes. Or you could leave it with me and I can fix it up for you. You keep the essentials like the Mount and Formspheres. It's just the components and Grid that I need for this." The man's corpse is light of ill gotten goods for you to take. This man may have been emotional, but he wasn't stupid enough to carry any large amount of currency on his person. You find two copper fivers.
  4. If that's what happens when you call in the WoT fans, I'm scared to face off with Perrin.
  5. I don't think a lot about my first sentences by themselves. I think more in terms of a first paragraph or first scene. Two of my first lines: "The instructor across the desk from Stallix was staring at him." and "Thick eyebrows furrowed over midnight blue eyes." Not much, really. But here's the first paragraphs for these lines: "The instructor across the desk from Stallix was staring at him. He could tell exactly where her eyes wandered. The burnt wings, the horns, the odd patches of fur on his chest and arms. They attracted attention; and despite this being the fifth meeting they'd had together in three weeks, he was enough of an odd sight that she still couldn't stop staring. Stallix didn't care, he'd seen this and worse every day of his life that he could remember and probably before then. He just wanted it to be over." and "Thick eyebrows furrowed over midnight blue eyes. Long, pale fingers darted like spiders over polished plastic keys with a rapid clicking. Small white type displayed the secrets of a powerful database, secrets rarely seen by those without the hidden knowledge this man possessed. These encrypted meanings flowed like water for him, and while he reveled in the power, it meant little, for the power came so easily to him." Better, yeah?
  6. Went to the doctor for my mission physical today! Good news, I don't have cancer! Bad news, I have to go back for another shot! :(

  7. Ditto for Kaladin, but Szeth I kinda do a little ss but mainly zz sound to start the name.
  8. DOWN WITH WOT! Uh, I mean Jon Snow. This is terribly awkward.
  9. I don't think Inception's strength is the story. Everyone says it's the story because they don't have the right term for what they really mean. It's the worldbuilding, the structure of the dream, that was intriguing and cool.
  10. This is a great theory. Odium hates everyone. So he's basically...
  11. My instinct is no for Vasher. Why? He's a Returned, he needs a source of Breath. He can last for a while, but not forever. And that constant drain on his Breath would make him less effective over time.
  12. Well, Honor's "journal" could function in sort of the same way that Vin was picked to hold Preservation's power despite Preservation's mind being absent. We don't know what that is, but we know that it can take a person in a specific set of circumstances and give them some weight when it comes to Shard goings on.
  13. What happened to Honor's power then? When Preservation gave up his mind to imprision Ruin his power, his "body", became the mists. My theory is that the Spren are to Honor what the mists are to Preservation, an expression of his power.
  14. That's something I think you can get away with saying. I'll be Espousing it once I get around to espousing things. Though I'm not going to marry it, I don't like it that much.
  15. Yes, for you! As I told Zas, you can buy happiness with it. You're welcome.
  16. I haven't read WoT either. This number of commonalities between me and Chaos is getting scary.
  17. RINGWRAITH! Sorry, couldn't resist.
  18. The wording of the quote is weird. If Shadesmar is the Cognitive realm, how is separate?
  19. Do you like YouTube? Have any favorite YouTubers?
  20. That is an...odd...combination. "Missing You" from A Very Potter Musical. LOVE THIS SONG
  21. But exactly what form those technologies take is an interesting idea. Cars? Maybe, maybe not, maybe something completely different. Telephone? Who even knows.
  22. I know what happens when you burn a Hemalurgic spike! Brandon said in the Tor Q&A that is splices their SDNA onto yours.
  23. But Shallan is just ga-ga over Kelsier, but doesn't realize that he's already dead and she's actually been fawning over TenSoon. He actually does love her, but when he tries to reveal who he is, she is disgusted, but realizes that she her interactions with him have been genuine and she does love him just before she gets on a ship to Shin.
  24. He seems confused, but starts to talk, struggling to be clear despite his cracking voice. "M-my father in law was murdered a while ago. My wife-" he pauses, collecting himself, "she was heartbroken. She blamed me for bringing us here, said it was my fault he got killed. I guess she's right. I thought this would be a good place to make some good money to start off our lives together. I guess I didn't see the dragon for the jewels, yeah? She-she left me yesterday. Now I'm just gonna - just gonna take my boat and get out of here. Maybe find someplace in Suspension Point to - to, I don't know what I'm going to do, but I just can't stay here." His shoulders tremble and his knees start to buckle. He's going to start sobbing again.
