theory SA5 Connection: Ba-Ado-Misram, our new Voidmother
bmcclure7 replied to Wit Beyond Measure's topic in Stormlight Archive
Wrong I'm afraid, in rythm of war Ralian says specifically that the gods of the listeners are not fused but instead the unmade. -
This is just speculation but I thought it would be fun to map out Possible void binding orders On the theory that they are a more passionate version of the Knights radiant 1. Stormriders: Odium's equivalent to wind runners, They are hatred and malice in its pure unadulterated form. 2. Wrathbringers: Odium's version of skybreakers, Their passion is vengeance, There Similar to the storm riders but with more regulation Is and rules which direct That hatred only at those who deserve it. 3. Passion singers, odiums edge dancers, there passion is compassion. 4. Realised, odium version of dust bringers. There passion is Desire. Will breakers: void equivalent of wheelshapers their passion is chaos and Anarchy. Sightweavers, Odium's version of light weavers, Their passion is art, Specifically on losing your sense of self And becoming a vehicle for art. Secret takers: Odium's version of truth watchers, Their passion is uncovering secrets. That's all I have so far do you have any ideas for the rest of the orders.

Domination +devotion =authority Power Is the ultimate sign that 1 has been chosen for leadership authority. The power is pass from one individual to the next When the original holder of the power dies Retires that power is past To another who resumes his position of leadership and authority. Think of a system similar to the avatar cycle but without reading carnation. The power is only held by a handful of various leaders but they are overwhelmingly Invested. Odium + cultivation = freedom: This power focuses on losing control. On being overcome by your emotions and passions. The stronger your passions and emotions Or investiture you Can access. It favors people that are intuitive or impulsive. Do things out of instinct rather than rules are laws. Honor +cultivation =civilization. Civilization space magics systems are about learning laws and rules and developing skills and how to learn those world rules. Such as learning specific combinations of letters and words, Or tones to summon Investiture, Or the right combination of chemicals. It tends to favor magic systems not unlike aon door, Though usually less complex, And easier to access Without regional divides. It centers on learning what inputs produce what outputs. Valor +honor = chivalry? Very similar to the rosharon system but Magic users swear oaths to Do various dangerous or difficult tasks. The more difficult the task or roll The higher amount of investiture Think of the 10 labors of Hercules for examples. Odium + devotion = obsession. Magic users of this shard Will often become obsessed with performing specific actions, What those actions are will depend of course on the individual magic system. Some Magic systems may make their users obsessively clean, Others may turn them into arsonist.

Civilization for honor +cultivation

You are not thinking this thing through. If someone worship rocks They Imply that the rocks have will and have power and authority. That is the definition of a god in most religions. If an actual atheist says he doesn't believe In the rock god He is saying that he doesn't Believe in their will authority and power. Jasnah knows the shards have will, Authority and power. She's not making the same challenge That the atheist makes to the rock God, It's more akin to the challenge that the Christians were Jews Make to pagans. ( Still not quite the same but closer) The shinvar worship rocks because the rocks are roshar actually alive and do have power.Making them a god in most religions. I simply use the definition of a god exist in most world religions.

Each other the shards offer you power in exchange for servous who would you serve? Ruin Offers transformation into a kondra with 2 blessings of your choice. Preservation offers turning you into a mistborn Harmony Offers turning you into a full ferochemist Honor Offers any Spren who's ideal you can alone with Cultivation Offers any boon (you will still also get a bane) Odium Offers make you into a fused Endowment: You gain 1,000 breaths.

a·the·ism /ˈāTHēˌiz(ə)m/ noun disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods. Obviously This definition cannot apply to Jasna. By her own words and your own words she acknowledges that the gods exist. She however refuses to worship them. This is not the atheist position, so a new term such as Ashardic is more appropriate. What exactly do you think I am projecting anything? I'm pretty sure dawn shards stated very clearly that he created the universe. I understand that point of view and even agree but I don't think That's someone born in the world Would have that point of view. This point of view comes heavily from Christianity. In a world where it did not exist there's no reason to assume people would have this point of view of divinity. I would point out That few gods Both in the cosmere or in our own religions have anything to do with the After life. And some religions don't even have anything to say on the afterlife (see first temple Judaism).

beings with greater-than-human power, and authority that requires worship is pretty much the definition of gods in most religions. You might as well have said she doesn't believe in gods just in gods. All I'm saying is that she's not technically an atheist by are standard. I suppose in a cosmere sense she might be an atheist and I admitted she is an atheist by the old-fashioned definition. Not arguing in the bad Faith. Really I Like the idea of Calling her ashardic As I do feel we need a The new term that more closely Describes her position.

You're thinking too much like an Abrahamic. In most religions gods can and are killed. Being killed does not exclude someone From godhood. At least in most religions. Niether there does been a natural part of nature exclude someone from godhood. There are literally whole religions that worship nature. However I can see why you and Jasna have this pov since vorinism seems to have something closer to our definition of divinity.

How a modern person could really make a difference in the past
bmcclure7 replied to king of nowhere's topic in Other Stories
You are mistaken, quarantine is the earliest tricks humans discovered to fight disease. It origins stretch all the way into pre history. People of the past weren't idiots they could till that when one person got sick his associates got sick soon after. They could figure the rest from there. -
Non shardist. Good turm. Makes sense, another way of looking at is using the original definition of atheist mean he who doesn't give sacrifices to the gods. As for me if I was transported there a probably wouldn't worship the shards . However if was born there I would most certainly. Only reason that I can think not to would be if I worship adulnosium.

Name 1000 eyes A shadow creature covered in eyes, Vaguely humanoid but with ability to change shape, Different interpretations can have them more human-like or more Monstrous. The basic architect is that the powerful but shy and very curious They realize their appearance makes people frightened of them so They keep their distance.

Can't wait to homebrew this system, I'm a big dnd and Lord of the rings fan. While I appreciate what Brandon make his own fantasy races, I do love the classics. Already have some ideas on how to homebrew elves dwarfs and hobbits into roshar.

That not that they don't exist is that they can't exist. There body don't conform to the laws of are reality. I mean a cryptic head isn't even attached to his body. You can get away with that when in the cognitive or inbetween but not when fully in the physical.
