  1. I think Nightblood would probably be able to overwhelm a dragon, though, if we’ve already seen it can consume a Vessel. The Spiritual Realm might be limitless, but a dragon’s ability to draw upon it doesn’t seem to be–especially considering how the Dakwara was able to interfere with Starling’s healing.
  2. Thanks for the Word of Brandon. I hope we see more about how that interplay works between the perspectives of a Radiant and their spren. It seems to me that the spren's opinion seems to have priority.
  3. Did Sylphrena revoke the powers, or did they just leave him because of how he was breaking his oaths? It seemed more like the latter to me. I wonder how far this goes. Like, could a Windrunner use a Lashing to kill someone they were sworn to protect, or would they lose the Stormlight before they could?
  4. You know, that's actually a decdnt theory. I can't believe it never crossed my mind. It would certainly be very dramatic, given their history. There might be some Shard thing that prohibits Odium from acting so directly, however. But maybe he'll ignore it, being so new. Storms, I just wish we knew more about what the contest entails. It's been implied it'll be more than fighting, but what does that even mean?
  5. My whole point was that, ultimately, Dalinar was responsible for the final terms—not Hoid. He didn't leave himself vulnerable to anything—if loopholes exist, they do so because of Dalinar. Hoid wasn't present during the establishment of the terms, and Dalinar does not magically know that Hoid shared that gambling story with Jasnah in Oathbringer. So thanks for not answering my question or engaging in a real dialogue. I really appreciate how you chose to attack my opinion on Mr. Sanderson's writing instead—oh, and the part where your only other supporting evidence for your assertion is invalid because countries have explicit procedures to resolve ties? Absolutely riveting point.
  6. But they aren't using Hoid's contract—Dalinar and Rayse agreed to different terms. Can you point to how their terms guard against a draw being the loophole? I think these are all reasonable points, but I'm not sure I'm convinced. The way I see it, if Dalinar loses, he agreed specifically to become a Fused and lead Odium's forces in a war against the cosmere. One could argue that doesn't necessarily require him to do every little thing Odium commands. Also, the Knights of Wind and Truth excerpts kind of gave me the impression that Szeth and Kaladin weren't going to make it back to Urithiru before the contest. I suppose it's still possible.
  7. I feel like it's obvious Odium has another trick up his sleeve, besides the loophole Wit discovered. So, one thought I had was inspired by the Sibling saying that their Light "makes the Radiants here virtually invincible." Add to that my theory that the way Dalinar has set himself up to fail, as Odium says, is that there is no provision in the contract for what would happen in the case of a draw. I'm not sure how that would happen, but here's my unlikely, probably-not-going-to-happen theory. The contract states that the champions must meet at the top of Urithiru. So, what if Urithiru has no top? Just send some Skybreakers in there with some supercharged Division and bam, the top of Urithiru is now impossible as a site for a contest. Again, I don't think this is the direction things will go, but I would still like to bring it up to get some gears turning.
  8. I definitely think Taravangian has another loophole about the contest up his sleeve. I don't think I can wait another two months to find out...
  9. I did forget that the False Desolation had no Fused—thank you all for the correction. Of these theories, I do think Number Five is the most likely. I hope we soon find out more about how difficult it is to unkey Investiture, or what Voidlight and Stormlight could realistically be used for. We see in one of the preview Interludes that Galladon can use Stormlight for his AonDor, though, so maybe it's easier than we think.
  10. First time posting, thought I'd share my theory about why the Ghostbloods (Thaidakar specifically) might want to capture Mishram. We know from Mistborn Era 2 that while Kelsier has a body now, he is no longer Mistborn. Mishram Connected to the singers and provided them with forms of power, and assumedly also allowed the Fused to be reborn. The Fused, obviously, are able to use Investiture. So, my thought is, does Kelsier want Mishram so she can Connect to him and make him a Fused? He could then be reborn in a singer body and have access to Investiture. If he gets his hand on some lerasium, he could even be Mistborn again. Are there any other theories about why the Ghostbloods want Mishram so much?
