  1. if only when I was doing commissions were people so easy to appease . Although, the bribery was mostly aimed at getting my husband to go to Taco Bell, haha. I think, though, with everyone's input I got a pretty good idea where to start.
  2. Ahh, pretty neat! It's like painting! Only instead of paint, you're using heat and scorching the wood. I'd like to try this! Thanks for sharing. I'll keep an eye out for your completed work too,
  3. You're fashionably late. That makes you fancy! I am definitely going to get started this week. I'll be sure to let you guys know if I get to something good and do some fan art ;). P.S. I am slowly being outnumbered by Rainbow Dash fans. That isn't even a real question. There is clearly one that is superior! You also missed an amazing chance to say: 'I mustache you a question'. Let no pun be wasted! As for your question: There is no answer, there is only Zuul. Aww. You know me so well. It's almost like we're married . No, no! I enjoy the banter. I'm having a good time, but thanks all the same! 1) I book marked that page! I love it! Especially since there are so many plot lines and strings raveling all over. It really is a big world, and a lot is going on. 2) I'll look into it! Everyone has had an opinion so far , which I really appreciate. Gives me a good idea where I should be starting. I love world building too. I think that's why I was such a fan of WoT. Might be the artist side of me too. The flavor is in the details.
  4. My hubby, JOrville, is lying. It's been like 5 centuries of listening to him talk about the book he continues not to finish and publish. I swear (Often, I'm working on it). I already introduced myself in another forum, so I will keep it short here. I'm a digital artist. Nobody pays me, so I guess I'm a hobbyist more than anything. I rather enjoy it though. I do enjoy reading, and writing a bit so I was intrigued to hop in here and see what hubs was making a fuss about. I signed up to do some reading and criticism. Prepare your egos, Grandpa is here (seriously though, I try to keep it helpful and uplifting unless you are JOrville...then its just me making him suffer).
  5. /salute I shall try my best not to do that anymore.
  6. I shall check TUBA out, but just so we're clear, I vote we name change to CLARINETS . We'll figure out the acronym later Creative Like Aristocrats Reading Intriguing Nonsense Everyone Typically Savors. ....Nevermind, that was just..awful. Lets stick with TUBA. Only if you agree to be my #1 Fan. Tell you what, what is your favorite part of the books? Book and page number. Then I'll know which books to start reading. I'll read up to that point, and try my best to capture it. Yay for inspired practice ! Then you can tell me my art is great even if it sucks and we can be best friends and live happily ever whenever. Darn it! That reasoning is flawless! Curse you Rainbow Dash! I can't work under this pressure! /Sweat dripping I mean, what are my benefits? Healthcare? Free cookies? Casual Fridays? Thank you, thank you. My alter ego is an old man with a bubble pipe. It represents my love for ugly sweaters and my desire to have wrinkles but never actually grow up. You're now on my list of favorite people and things (Who needs more than one list?). You're right between soft fluffy kittens, and people with fabulous mustaches. I beseech you good sir. My ears are bleeding from the whining already, don't encourage him ! There are other ways! And I'm not saying JOrville should buy me tacos. Cause that sounds like bribery. I prefer, 'loving incentives that may or may not have an alternate motive'. Seriously though, I can certainly try to draw something if you guys seriously want me to give it a shot, but first I need to immerse myself in the story, and see how the books are.
  7. My instincts tell me that I can completely trust you. My survival rate is getting lower by the minute.
  8. Welcome to my house.
    Baby, take control now.
And by that I mean; take out the garbage and do the dishes so I can nap.

  9. Mmm, cookies. How could I refuse? but I have to have it with milk. I have standards when receiving things from strangers. I'll have to let everyone know what I end up reading first. Also, I didn't know you could 'hide' things. I've now discovered that's what the spoilers thing is for. So handy for when linking overly large pictures. Ahh, learn something new every 16 hours, 15 minutes and 23 seconds.
  10. Yeah, but I'm worried Fluttershy will feel betrayed by my lack of representation. Fluttershy is the best pony and I refuse to believe otherwise. Should probably do a redraw sometime..
  11. You told me there was a place to lay down the crit on other people's work on here. And I was like: These are my people.
  12. Ahh! I actually do recognize the Librarians. Jorville was reading those aloud to the kids and they sounded hilarious. Arriving late to being shot. The ability to trip and fall . Too funny! I didn't actually know those were by Sanderson.
  13. That sounds just like me. . Obstinate till I reach my grave. When I inevitably die from strangulation. Please put on my tomb that I made it my life goal to be as stubborn and impossible as possible.
  14. Ghostbloods sound cool. I had to look it up ;). Guess I might be getting a tattoo on my arm later. Three Diamonds huh. People won't be able to tell if I'm a Sanderson fan or really like Rarity from My Little Pony . Hear that Jorville? I'm getting a tattoo babe!
  15. Sweet! I'll keep that in mind. I'm finishing up another book quick but should be started on one before the end of the week. I go through books like I'm breathing air.
  16. I've read -none- of them. Like, my hubby tried to explain the premise behind it and I think I responded with: 'So..a bunch of people are running around doing drugs for magic powers. Ok...What a ridiculously stupid idea!' Shows what I know! I am starting with Mistborn I think. Not actually sure which books are first. Guess I'll have to update you or have my hubby respond for me. Jorville? Any input? It's seriously awesome every time we meet a homeschool graduate . I do it all by myself. Publisher, Khan Academy, Workbooks from wherever, white boards, and field trips. We don't Co-Op exactly although sometimes I'll do some trading with the neighborly homeschool families. Nothing official though. Our kids scored really high this year (Required testing for 3rd, 5th grade in Hawaii). You could say we're loving it :). Mmmm...Sorry, can't respond- Braaaaaains....
  17. ..because my hubby won't shut up about the forums. (He's JOrville on here) Hello, hello! I'm popping in for the first time here. I'll confess, I haven't read the books. But, I hear my husband talking about the 17th Shard, Brandon Sanderson, or the forums all the time. My interest is now peaked! I guess I'll finally crack open a book (I'm highly critical of books though, Brandon, you have been warned). I just might be Brandon's only fan that read the books ONLY because said Hubby spent a whole day bemoaning that he wasn't there to get a leather bound copy (That's a thing?) and talking non stop about getting good criticism on the writing forums. Anyway, a little about me: I'm more of an artist than a writer, and while I've now been doing digital art for a few years...I don't really have the time to practice . This is in part due to a well defined, practiced, and consistently established daily dose of laziness, and taking care of my spawn of which we've made four . We home school (Which is kind of like saying: We are sacrificing all our time to do K-12 four more times), and for some reason the minions demand that I provide them with sustenance and care. I enjoy reading, but I am super picky. I didn't even finish Wheel of Time because R.J. passed on . (I'll assume you guys know who finished the series). Now, however, I'm curious and after I test and see how Brandon writes, I might look into rereading the WoT novels. Don't get me wrong though! It's not like I've had writing lessons, or go around criticizing everyone just to be rude! For the most part, I keep my lovely opinions to myself unless it is asked for...or my husband wanders by (He receives no mercy. None at all. Poor bloke. I'm pretty sure his work trembles every time I walk by at this point). Anyway! I'll be around. Lurking...waiting...watching. And of course reading these books..finally.
  18. Cool, woodworking :3. Don't have a lot of talent for that myself. All I can carve are ducks . As an artist myself I am very curious what you come up with though.
  19. I'm right there with you. Although I wasn't so much as convinced as my curiosity got the best of me with my hubby talking about it all the time ;). Welcome!
  20. My parents were just in India, they're doing an around the world cruise type of thing :). Welcome to the forums.
  21. :3 hey babe! I finally found my way onto the forums. Now I can criticize your work online too! You can't escape.
