Ax just went along with Jace, tripping over himself a little with how focused he was on Jace's face.

Ax nodded dully, grinning like an idiot and looking at Jace with adoration in his eyes. He set his hand in Jace's absently.

Ax got back after fifteen minutes with a pizza box balanced on his head, then almost dropped it when he saw the room. "Jace..."

Ax nodded and sat up. "Okay. Be back in ten minutes or something." He kissed Jace on the cheek and walked out.

"Does pizza from that one place on the corner sound good?" Ax asked, turning his head and raising an eyebrow at Jace.

Ax was sprawled on the bed, holding a pistol up in the air and pretending to shoot flies.

Seom nodded at him, her expression blank.

Seom set her hand on his arm, not knowing what to say.

Seom looked at him, concerned. "Well... that's hard. But can't you try to magnify the good traits of the difficult ones to make up for her?"

Seom scrambled over and went to her knees next to Mike, then pressed an unkeyed goldmind to his chest and tried to make him heal. "Hush..." she whispered, feeling herself start to collapse but holding up anyway. She hated it when people cried.

Seom jumped, then took one of her Goldminds and threw it at the little spren.

Tena looked up at him and cocked her head. He was still her kid, wasn't he? Well... "Yeah. Remember when you were twelve, and I'd just adopted you? So you got in a fight with a bunch of bigger kids, and came back home all beat up. Then I got their descriptions out of you and made 'em do whatever you said?" She grinned. "You're still my little kid, Silas. I have all these memories with you, and they make you a person. I don't know what happened, but..." She stared him in the eyes. "You're still my son, kiddo."

"Hi!" Seom called to the spren.

"Sure thing," Seom said. "That guy is giving me the creeps."

Seom saw Mike running, then looked at the guy again and turned, running with him. Her legs were longer than Mike, so she managed to catch up. @Sorana

Seom picked up some rubble herself and threw it, glaring at the guy.

Tena ducked the punch. "Nice one. Okay, I surrender. Don't hurt my baby, though."

Seom crouched as she looked up at the weird guy with the weird voice. "Lo and behold, another thingamajig we have to kill," she said to Mike. "You got any grenades on you?" @Sorana

She nodded. "They're just people. They can be beaten. And yeah, I'll keep standing with you."
