You mean Skybreakers? I have to agree with that; I’m just paranoid. You have a good day too!
-
“Exactly,” she said, enthused, then broke off as a man fell into the crater. What is he doing?
-
“You know. Investiture. Hemalurgy. Whatever the spike thing is,” Forr muttered.
-
I have never said that’s I agree with Nale, nor that I agree with their laws. Of course that’s a bad law. What I mean saying is that it is a law. I’m merely trying to look at all sides of the issue. I do agree with your opinion of Moash, simply not your opinion of Elhokar. But since I don’t want this to get toxic and many, many discussions along these lines do, I’m going to stop here. What did you think of it?

This was dangerous territory. Forr considered, then said, “Well, he was stabbed by spikes, right? Maybe that was how he died. Sounds like that’s a pretty fatal form of magic.” Had her voice gone too resentful there at the end? All this Investiture stuff sounded fatal to her. Ugh.

“I’ve asked around, trying to catch up, but it seems there have been a lot of wars here lately,” Myriad said quietly. “Just how many evil maniacs has this place had?” Shaking her head, she went on, “And there are so many forms of magic, as you said. So many worlds...it almost seems impossible to learn about it all.”
-
“No,” Forr said, though she could.
-
“No,” she admitted. “Though I suspect they died. What about you?”
-
“And...” She blinked up at the woman. “What else do you want me to say?”
-
“No idea,” she said with a shrug. “I haven’t seen him since then either. Think he ran into some trouble, or just decided not to come?”
-
Should she do the thing? Yes. She knew she should. This was exactly the type of situation in which you were supposed to. But Forr didn’t want to die. “One of your leaders died,” she said quietly.

*severely tempted to write a fanfic of Kelsier discovering all this stuff*

Myriad didn’t like that they were meeting at seven-thirty in the morning. That was when people started their jobs, and that was when traffic began. She’d had to get up at five to avoid most of it, and had been hanging around the crater ever since. At least being early meant she hadn’t been late, like last time. Thinking of how close yesterday had brought her to another death...she shuddered. She was still in the body she’d been in for the meeting. While she’d had chances to change it, she didn’t want to have to explain that the new person was actually her; too many questions, too much confusion. So instead she had used some of the woman’s chrysts to buy a fresh set of clothing, practical but still nice. Her bag, containing her Scholar’s Guild materials, Soulcaster, and painrial, hung over one shoulder, strap tangling with the black braid she’d done. Joining the queue of people surrounding the ACE officials, she noticed Kendul and waved at him. @ZincAboutIt @Lord Furret

The girl breathed in and out hard, trying not to faint again. “Forr,” she whispered. Attempting to get up her courage, she added, “Please don’t hurt me.”

The thing is, while that’s type of thing would look bad in our society(ies, I don’t know where you’re from), it’s perfectly natural for the Alethi to disregard darkeyes. Am I saying that the caste system is good? No. But you can’t condemn someone for following it when it’s their whole way of life. No governmental or societial structure is perfect. Please don’t curse. The Shard is meant to be a family-friendly site. Anyway, why did that sentence specifically pique you? I never said he did deserve jail time. I’m saying he didn’t make the right decision in a moment of anger, and the same is true for Elhokar (and frankly, everyone else in existence). If you hate Elhokar for his bad choices, it stands to reason that you should also hate Kaladin for his. Elhokar had many more appearances than the two when he was drunk. He also did plenty of political decision-making; not always the right decisions, but he made them. Budding architect? I don’t remember him ever having anything to do with architecture. Could you remind me of where in the books it was said that he had an interest in it? Not sure what you’re trying to say here. Yes, killing in general is wrong. I haven’t disputed that.

Why, did the story wrap up?

I accept dares. Also truths, but preferably dares. To anyone who wants to take this truth, can you do the Game Theory theme song off the top of your head?
