Negation stepped out of the shop, one arm heavy with a bag full of food supplies, into a slap of cold wind. He stopped in place for a moment, startled, but it died down after a second, and he started walking down the street. He avoided the gazes of the people who lived here; he wasn’t certain of the population’s size and whether or not they’d recognize a new face.
After some time he reached the corner he’d left Izzy and Infinity on. They were still there, and he leaned against the wall next to them, setting down the bag. Gati had been considering his next move for a while on the ride to this city, and finally he’d chosen it. The odd feeling of his Power sloshing inside him, growing and lessening in every moment that passed, made his previous plan teeter dangerously on the verge of unviable.
“Could you please send her to one of the spaces you make with Reality?” he asked the other goddess politely, gesturing just slightly at Izzy. He heard the girl’s quick intake of breath, and went on before she could ask why. “I thought I might be better suited to protecting her right now than anonymity, but with the state of things I don’t think that’s the case. Ideally, she can stay in there without being harmed until you bring her back out, correct?”
