I believe we did ask Isaac about it and he threw out a few ideas, but he wasn't involved in the design process. This was a 17S project, we didn't need to ask Dragonsteel's approval (and in fact one of the reasons for one of the changes was so we wouldn't have to consult them about merch and things, because we wouldn't be using any of their designs). 

This is it for right now, but more site design and background changes are planned for down the road. We haven't started talking about those yet much, so don't expect anything soon - but eventually, the Shard will probably look different in addition to the new logo.

Canon doesn't always impact shipping - there are plenty of circumstances where a married character could end up with a different character

The Liar of Partinel is not canon, but in it the MC, Midius - who I'm fairly certain is Hoid - has a mentor named Hoid. I believe that is who Wit is talking about in TWOK. 

I don't think Frost has a Shard.
