  1. Tbf, Shai also says there are systems where Autonomy has entire pantheons of gods that are all her avatars
  2. Ngl, I always pictured it as gold with hints of red through it. Like a pearlescent shine, not sure why I thought it was gold. But the rest of the construct stands. Would be a different metal is all. I just figured that it would be bavadinium since they're supposed to be the "bearers of the final metal" Or perhaps the trellium we've seen is an alloy of bavadinium. Atium from Era 1 was retconned to be alloyed with electrum because WoB is that anyone can burn any god metal, could be something similar. We also don't see anyone try to burn it, which kinda makes me curious what it would do to someone... Returned and Fused are just Cog Shadows stuck back in a body. Fused I could kinda see since we know almost nothing about how Odium keeps them from going to the beyond, but Returned survive off investiture and need a steady supply. Another random thought occurred to me too. A number 5. If the concentration of invested individuals creates an opportunity for a perpendicularity being opened, could that be part of the reason the KR were disbanded? Don't want a tower full of invested people creating a backdoor. Elantris had one near the city too. Maybe there's one around the Court of Gods?
  3. I'm not saying Autonomy's home world isn't more advanced than the systems we've seen, it likely is, just in other ways. If I had to create the MoRaG with what we've already seen, I think you could do it by starting with something like Kalad's Phantoms, drill a bunch of anchor points all over and attach Bavadinium plating. You're only awakening the phantom for 50 Breaths, but it's now immune to investiture. Give them guns like Nahz had in the broadsheats and they're likely the most deadly army around and completely under her control. Plus, she likes co-opting others magic systems so it would fit. Elantrians sound avatar-ish at least. Powered directly by the Dor. Sustains and powers them. They don't need to eat or sleep and it heals them. Just felt similar to me.
  4. Yes, that's the WoB I was thinking about. I see Jaddeth in much the same way as Trell. Telsin wasn't Trell, she was taking up the mantle to become Trell. I figured that's what was going on with Wyrn, trying to earn the Jaddeth mantle.
  5. On my second pass through of TLM, I made some observations I thought I'd share. First, given that Kel was the Sovereign and helped the south immediately after Sazed changed the world, it drastically shortens the time frame in which he got his body back. He was a Cog Shadow trapped in the Cog Realm before Sazed took the shards then helping Malwash survive right after. Seems likely Sazed had to of helped because of this. Second, given that Jaddeth is likely another Avatar of Autonomy, it would stand to reason Wyrn was trying to take up that mantle. Considering his failure in Elantris, I think it's also likely Autonomy would have dropped him like she did Telsin. Third, while on the topic of Avatars, the way Autonomy sustains and empowers Telsin sounds similar to Elantrians in general. Is there any possibility that the Dor is choosing Avatars to protect itself? It might not even be an intentional thing, just a result of the power being in the Cog realm instead of the Spiritual, not enough of a buffer between the power and the physical realm maybe. Fourth, Autonomy isn't as technologically advanced as we think. She knows what is capable, but Telsin said that Autonomy was hoping the Set could figure out self propelled rocketry for her. Yet the Men of Red and Gold look to be highly advanced soldiers or constructs of some kind.
  6. Well, we know that the make up of alloys affects their potency, such that they need to be nearly exact for them to work and making you sick or killing you if they're too far off. Do we think perhaps the atomic structure, similar to gemstones on Roshar holding Stormlight better with perfect structure?
  7. That makes them sound similar to parshmen. Broken connection between two major parts of themselves... interesting
  8. So, currently listening to the Hero of Ages again. The first time since I read SA. I'm on the chapter Ten'Soon is in the cage and he mentions young Kandra losing their sentience and slowly regaining it after given a Blessing, a Hemalurgic Spike. I found the similarity to how Spren lose their sentience before forming a Bond. Is it possible the Mistwraiths are partially in the cognitive realm, and the spike gives them a growing connection to the Physical Realm, similar to a Bond?
  9. Would a duralumin burst of a burned metalmind change what you got out of it? If nothing else, the flask method would let you fill a few metalminds in an instant. Do you think structure of the metals plays any role (like perfect gemstones) in how much they can hold?
  10. Speaking of the Cog realm, wouldn't the Radiant be able to transport themselves in or out, or just make the approach from the Cog realm and soulcast the air to stone before the fullborn knows what's going on? Or potentially do it from the Cog realm, never put themselves in danger to begin with.
  11. Has anyone considered if the Radiant Plate could simply form around the Fullborn and decide they have to stand still? Could they harm the Plate somehow?
  12. My theory is that Honor died shortly before the False Desolation, his cog shadow and the largest portion of his power go to Stormfather as we know, but I think BAM scooped up the next biggest portion, enough to also ascend and become "a little god." I think she was already the spren of Roshar before she was Unmade and thus connected to everything native (strictly going off the result of her imprisonment). She then binds herself to all the singers and tries to take her planet back from humans and Gods alike. Knights decide they have no choice but to lock her up in order to protect humanity. Afterward, the guilt, fear, and the lack of Honors guidance all added up to abandoning their oaths as well.
  13. So, what if it's a reverse loophole, a check-mate by none other than Cultivation. TOdium is still bound by the agreement he made with, well, himself. Odium the shard is bound by the agreement made with Taravangian that Karbranth and its people were to be left alone. If the Coalition chooses anyone from Karbranth, it's an auto-win. By defeating the champion TOdium wounds himself enough that Cultivation could shatter him, but if he doesn't, they get the thousand years on repeat, even easier if the blood of Karbranth disseminates over that millenia. Biggest issue, only Taravangian and Odium for sure knew about the deal, maybe Cultivation can assume it because of the boon she granted tho, if she didn't plan for it to begin with
  14. What is going on with his Honorblade? In RoW it is described as being designed not to kill thunderclasts, but people. And (minor sa5 prologue spoiler)
  15. On my re listen of RoW currently. A little past Navani and Raboniel making the new Rythm for the first time while Navani is given then plates. Was also considering Hoids flute being in Lifts stash and what it could mean. So what I'm thinking of is Hoid playing it for Kalading at the chasms. His strange technique of harmonizing the echoes. A possible way for a single person to create the rhythm on their own. Until they create fabrial music boxes of course
  16. Some more ideas for grenades: Awakened clusterbombs filled like a barrel of monkeys with mini lifeless. Fabrial grenades that pulls all the oxygen to them. Assuming they figure out surge fabrials soon, we could get anti grav grenades, healing grenades, maybe you could throw people into shadesmar with transportation grenades.
  17. Do you think they could load a gemstone with anti investiture of another shard and use it to severely damage them by releasing it in their perpindicularity? I can't help but think the future of the cosmere is gonna be a war against the shards themselves. They all seem to be intentionally bad or simply so incompetent they might as well be
  18. So TLM gave us some interesting throwables in the form of time bubbles, are we gonna get some hand held nukes from SA? 2 gemstones rigged to break after the pin is pulled. One with stormlight the other with anti light. Maybe put it in a little ball to be lashed a few times at the nearest enemy planet?
  19. I feel like that's an acceptable loss. A few wooden handles for ranged, nearly unblockable weapons that can permanently disable body parts of nearly anyone. Especially since you could probably use just about any roughly handle shaped object you pick up once you practice forming the blade
  20. Theoretically, could you use a wooden handle and form the Shardblade into a ring with the handle in the middle? If so, would you then be able to lash the wooden handle and launch the weapon through basically anything? Just contemplating potential uses down the line
  21. This is more what I was thinking. Millennia of fighting the Heralds, you'd think at some point they'd want to take a peak at where those humans came from.
  22. Did Ashyn's current magic come from Roshar? Leshwi tells Venli of a disease Raboniel released to kill all the humans that only got one in ten. Could have evolved and been transferred since then
  23. So, I've recently been doing another read through of SA and a few things keep bothering me. Thought I'd put them out here and see if anyone else has thoughts on them. First, if Vorinism places so much religious significance on symmetry, why did the change the names of the Dawncities, and they don't call the Heralds their full name. Why not? Is there any significance to this and the state of both herald and those cities? Second, what were the Fused digging for under the Palace in Kolinhar? Wouldn't make sense to try and find a cryptic by digging, they're stuck as a pattern on the surface, giving them more uneven surfaces would just make it easier to hide. Third, what's up with the screaming people hear? Not the Deadeye thing but like Szeth. Are they actually hearing the people they killed? Or is it just more of the mental health stuff the books focus on? Last, assuming the Fused were, well, fused to spren, why do they only get one surge each? Lesser spren? Why do spren bonds grant surges in the first place? On Ashyn it seems to be disease based, so what's the deal with their magic system changing when they moved.
  24. The fixing the shattered plains thing reminds me of: So maybe? Especially since all the major cities seemed to be made with cymatics (spelling?) At least from what Kabsal shows
  25. I guess that makes the first Parsh to bring Stormlight over the Car'a'carn! Lol
