Sell Rial becomes a Stoneward.
-
So in a WoB I believe Brandon said that spren seek people who are opposite to them. Like for the two traits of each order, the spren satisfies one and the human satisfies another, it doesn't have to be the same for each bond.
-
I hope that Rock or Rial don't bond honorspren, but instead bond other spren types.

Ba-Ado-Misram's power is the ability to grant voidbringer forms and voidlight to power them. We also know that his Connections to the Dawnsingers must be powerful enough to damage their Identity. So I think that when Ba-Ado-Misram grants forms of power, he's not giving them spren to bond with, but instead have them bond with himself. When a spren bonds with a Dawnsinger, their identity changes to match their new form, but if their spren who was connected to both their Identity and Connection was sealed away, while still connected to the Dawnsingers. Their Identity and Connection could have been sealed with it, giving us the state the Parshmen are in now. But what happens to all that Identity and Connection when Ba-Ado-Misram is freed?

[OB] About Divine Attributes and the Making of the Heralds
MountainKing replied to AIAndy's topic in Stormlight Archive
So before they came to Roshar they access the surges by getting diseases. Now the diseases might cause them tonne able to bond with spren to grant surges, but if it did, they would only bond lesser spren. -
Glys is still a truthwatcher spren even if he's corrupted.
-
Corruption spren should look close enough to the original that you know what they were originally were. He matches the description of Ym's and Stump's spren except he was colored red.
-
So corruption works, by forcing your influence on another shard's investiture. They can do that because all investiture used to be assigned to Adonsalium, but now it's not. But because the spren is sapient, even if Odium's "hacks" in to his investiture, he doesn't have to follow Odium, but Odium can influence him, and he has access to Odium's version of the shards.
-
And what other red spren, the only red spren I can think off is anticipation spren, and they are of cultivation.
-
He swore the first and second ideal off stage.

[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
But the Unmade are called unmade because Odium personally unmade them, we don't know what that means, but we know they were changed in the same way that other greater spren like the Stormfather. -

Some spren did. There was WoB about how pre-shattering spren got assigned to shards, mostly cultivation. -
[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
Spren are probably like that because (I'm going to spell its name wrong) Adonsalium created Roshar. I forgot which WoB it was, but I think he said once that Roshar was created pre-shattering. -
[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power

So I was wrong about the lesser spren, but I think my theory still holds for already sapient spren. -
[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
So basically if you had a certain amount of investiture in a spren they would gain sapience, but if you had a spren with say half that investiture it would not sapient, but if you kept giving that spren investiture it will become sapient If you had a spren that was already sapient, then giving it more investiture won't make it more sapient, but instead it would make it harder for the spren's mind to be damaged when crossing over to the physical realm and staying there. The more investiture a sapient spren has the more influence it can have on the physical realm and the less damage being in the physical realm does to it's mind -
[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
So non radiant spren can be sapient, sapience is just a threshold where stormlight will stop making you closer to sapience, and instead improve a spren's resistence to the damage of the physical realm, and strengthen their manifestations. I only used radiance spren as my example as the threshold to sapience, because they are the weakest sapient spren we have seen so far. -
[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
Those are all regular spren so their power is directly proportional to their sapience. Its basically a graph, and the examples I pointed out were just points on the line. A point I didn't make in the OP is that after so much power the spren become sapient, and then after that any more power, just let's the spren live in the Physical Realm without aides, take less damage from being in the physical realm, and have more power and stronger manifestations in the physical and cognitive realm. -
[OB] Spren's Intellect and How it Relates to Power
MountainKing posted a topic in Stormlight Archive
This theory is about how the spren's intellect is proportional to a spren's power. Definitions Spren- Living Rosharian Investiture (Investiture of Odium, Honor, and Cultivation) Intellect- The ability to live, gain sentience, and keep sentience in the Physical realm, Spren's Cognitive Maximum Potential (I added definitions because when I write Intellect I don't actually mean Intellect, but a Spren's Cognitive Maximum Potential) There are five types of spren: Object Spren: The voices of the spheres in Shadesmar Lesser (Emotion/Condition/Nature) Spren: Like Anticipationspren, Hungerspren, and Windspren. These spren are bascailly the animals of Shadesmar, and behave as such. Radiantspren: These are the spren of radiants. They populate the cities of Shadesmar and is its civilization. Voidspren: Spren of Odium Unique Spren: Spren of immense power, that also have consciousness, and all have unique names: Stormfather, Nightwatcher, and the Sibling. ( In this post I won't be talking about Object Spren because they are the exception to my theory, so this theory only applies to free-roaming spren) Spren's intellect is directly proportional to their power(or manifestations of power.) In the Physical Realm. Lesser Spren have almost no power or manifestations in the physical world at all. They can not even manifest completely in the physical world and only a portion of there body can appear in the physical world. Or they are spren that only appear in the Physical world, but almost never in the cognitive. Life spren can really only detect plant life and float, while windspren, who can bind things together, have enough intellect to recognize and follow certain people for a short time. Radiant spren have the intellect of humans, but when normally crossing into the physical realm without a human partner, they suffer cognitive/mental damage, and also suffer cognitive damage just being in the Physical Realm for an extended amount of time. They can manifest themselves in a small form in the physical world and they can grant the power of surges to humans. Unique non-void spren seem to be able to stay manifested in the Physical Realm without a human partner, and they don't seem to suffer cognitive damage of recent memories, but memories of hundreds to thousands of years ago become foggy. Their manifestations greatly affect the world without a human partner. The greatest example was when the Stormfather caused a Highstorm to appear earlier (I think the void spren behave the same way, except for the Unmade.) Okay I think the Unmade's powers are inversely proportional to the Unmade's intelligent, but all Unmade are very power. (I will add more details when I have more time) Nergaoul- causes the Thrill. He forcibly creates Connections with individuals spanning multiple countries at once causing them to fall and an almost irresistible battle rage. But intellect wise he behaves like a lost puppy. While Ba-Ado-Misram- can provide voidlight and grant forms of power, but only if the Parshendi agree to it. He is most famously know who his intellect and his battle strategies, not his raw power. I think this is the affect of being Unmade, they behave in some cases opposite of normal spren. -
They probably were, a posted on a different thread that it would be impossible for the recreance to happen and the spren not knowing about it.

[OB] Melishi hurt the Nightwatcher
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
Melishi was a Bondsmith. Bondsmith are masters of Connection, one of there primary powers is to create Connections. Melishi not understanding how people can be damage by sudden loss of Connections is unrealistic. Dalinar has been a Bondsmith for six months and while managing the coalition, learned how to listen to spren and make Connections between people and him. Everytime Dalinar mentioned spren like the Stormfather, the Nightwatcher is always mentioned in the group. Stormfather is a Bondsmith Spren. The Sibling is the spren of Urithiru. So why if the other two spren in that category are related to the Knights Radiant, why wouldn't the Nightwatcher be connected to the Knights Radiant. -
[OB] Melishi hurt the Nightwatcher
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
Sly loss her memory due to the damage sustain from crossing into the physical realm. The spren that Kaladin and co. meet in Shadesmar know of human nature and humanity in general. Also epigraph mentioned someone warning them of unintended consequences, but Melishi ignoring them anyways. -
[OB] Melishi hurt the Nightwatcher
MountainKing replied to MountainKing's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think Honor would have the Stormfather bond with a bondsmith then because he had the Stormfather making new honorspren during that time. And how do feel about theory that Melishi purposely destroyed the Parshendi's Identity and Connection while on the mission to seal Ba-Adi-Misram? -
The Nightwatch is damaged. She doesn't understand was forgiveness is, but she is a Bondsmith spren, she was bonded to an human yet she doesn't understand humanity. The only good reason that she doesn't understand humanity is she was damaged. One of the only way to damage a spren of her level is a Knight Radient breaking their oaths or a more powerful being hurting them. From what we know their was no more powerful being around that was willing to hurt her so she must have been bonded to a Bondsmith that broke his oaths. At the time of the Last Desolation, there was only one bondsmith. The SIbling was retreating from Urithiru( we know this because the last messages of the radients were talked about both the prep with finishing the False Desolation and the Sibling leaving Urithiru.) and the Stormfather probably wasn't bonded to him because he felt betrayed by the Heralds leaving. Leaving only the NightWatcher So Melishi must of done something to break his oaths. He is most know for entrapping Ba-Ado-Mishram and turning all the Parshendi into slaveform(no spren or no song), so what if when Melishi captured Ba-Ado-Misram he used his bondsmith powers to damage the Parshendi, so that they had to stop fighting, and couldn't try to retake Ba-Ado-Misram and start a new False Desolation. By stealing/destroying their ability to take forms and removing any chance that their chrildren can inherit the power via spiritweb. He secured his people fate for no more Desolation fought against the Parshendi because they lack the ability to take in voidspren, the fused, or work in an army. But in doing so he broke his oath of uniting instead of dividing. The Parshendi can never has close family bonds, have peace treaties or form connects (the spiritweb kind). He has divided them by making them from an well organized army to a listless group of poeple that can bearly think. The NightWatcher didn't suffer complete damage like Sly or the dead spren we see in the books becuase Bondsmith spren are much more powerful than normal radiantspren. PS: Can anybody think of a better title for this thread.
