If it was book related, how could it be scary? Since Preservation is a good guy in the books. Though I can imagine his wincon being something akin to making sure nobody ever does any action again (massive game-wide roleblock )

I guess you’re right. It’s a lot of assuming on my part. Indigo Yeah, I know I was the first vote on him here, but I think I need a little more time to consider everything’s he’s offering. I definitely do not want to have a repeat of last lynch.

Well, there was talk of Amber Vulture being Autonomy and the same Night they were Shattered, which is an ability only Odium has. If their wincon was not related to Shattering Shards, why would they waste a night action to do it?

Exvee paused. He took another sip of another alcoholic drink he’d been given from another Dave. “Well, that’s unnecessarily vague,” he mumbled. “The hell do you mean ‘we need to talk’?” Then it clicked. “Ahh, you want to be a Dave, well, just stand right there...” “You’re drunk, kid.” “What, you’re something like a couple years older than me and that makes me ‘kid’?” “I suspect time-travel,” The man said calmly. He had a look in his eyes, one of experience. He grabbed a stool one of the Daves had set up in the camp and sat on it, crossing one leg over the other. Exvee looked at his clothing. He seemed to be a fan of blue. “What, why would suspect that?” Exvee asked. “And why are suspecting anything at all?” “It’s the only explanation,” the man said without explanation. “It’s the only way we, you and me, can be here, in the same time. I should be way older than you, but it seems time has found a way to make us meet. I have to say, I’m pretty impressed that it happened, but looking at you, still sort of disappointed.” Exvee blinked a couple times. “You’re speaking more nonsense than me. What next thing you’re going to tell me what these Shard things are and completely ruin my blissful ignorance.” The man frowned. “Shards. Pretty much gods. I’ve never been a big fan of them, but as a friend once told me, some aren’t so bad.” He looked sorrowful, and for a second Exvee saw trauma in him. His eyes grew stern again, and he looked at Exvee, taking out a slip of a paper. “Let’s get to introductions. You must be Ex-Vee?” “Exvee,” Exvee corrected. “One word.” Raising an eyebrow the man continued. “Do you know your father’s name, Exvee?” “Yeah. Just as weird as mine. He was Exeyevee.” “And that doesn’t strike you as odd?” “Well, sir, I’m too drunk to care right now. Look, if you don’t want to become a Dave, fine, just get out of my business, we’re heading to Silverlight today anyway.” The man sighed. “I spent a lot of resources trying to find you kid,” he said, leaning forward. “What can I say? Once I learnt we were in the same time period, curiosity took ahold of me.” His eyes flicked up. “Let me guess then: you have a sacred family heirloom that you know is really old but you’ve never thought of using it because you’re afraid you’ll ruin it and it’s the only thing of value in your life, and the simple fact is it gives you that little bit of purpose that keeps you from ending it all.” The words pierced his haze and Exvee looked up. That... that was his most private fact. “How... do you know that?” His voice trembled slightly. The man didn’t smile, but he stood up, brushed the dust off his shoulders. “Now you’re ready to listen. That’s good.” He looked around, nodding. “I can’t say I like this cult of yours, but it’s practical. We can talk on the way to Silverlight.” Exvee just nodded dumbly, in awe of the man with the scar barely visible on his arm and a cloak of faded colour.

The Night had passed, and as the Selish sun rose once more Exvee turned around and regarded his following. 40 men, women, children, and stuffed bears looked back at him. Some looked tired. His group hadn’t slept at all, they’d spent the whole night looking for recruits. They were loyal, which was great. “Dave28!” Exvee called as he downed another cup of some Selish drink. Alcoholic, of course. Dave28 was an accountant, Exvee had learned. “Yes, O Great Prophet?” Exvee hadn’t told his following to call him that, but it wasn’t a bad title, especially for one the Daves thought of themselves. “Yes, Dave28,” Exvee said. “I would like an estimate on how many more converts you think we can have.” Dave28 looked troubled. “Prophet, I believe we have gotten all the converts we could from this city, I doubt we can get more.” Exvee thought about the words. “Well then, we’ll go to Silverlight next. They all said I was crazy for not knowing what the Shards are, we’ll see now.” “Silverlight...?” Dave28 asked. “Of course!” Exvee said. “What, you thought I was going to claim to be leader and then not show my powers?” “It was about faith, Prophet...” “Nonsense! You’ll see. All of my Daves, I’ll take them all to another planet!” “Wow, that would really show your powers, Prophet.” “It would. Let’s march on, Dave28. Tell Dave7 and Dave15 to round up the Daves, we should be at Silverlight by sundown.” “Um, yes, O Great Prophet.” As the Dave scampered off, Exvee looked around Sel another time. “Last chance!” He yelled. “For anyone who wants to join us and be initiated into the journey of Daves! Perks include having friends and going to other planets!” Finished and not getting a response, Exvee sighed and turned around. “Interesting set-up, you have here,” a voice said from behind him. Turning, Exvee saw a man maybe about 5 years his elder, crossing his arms. From underneath the jacket and cloak, a small scar on his arm could be seen poking out. “Who the hell are you?” Exvee asked. The man took a deep breath, and looked up. “We need to talk.”

I’m curious. Why swan? Anyway, for the most part I agree with Falcon. As for Autonomy and how Odium found them. People in the Sel doc will know we were discussing how Amber Vulture could bea Shard due to how they erratically worldhopped. That’s why we think Odium, or a faction member of Odium, was at Sel at this time. The Sel doc was also inactive, and only two other people than me had even coloured their names in the doc, Saffron Iguana and Salmon Meerkat. To to discussion with Saffron, this gives me some reasonable suspicion on Meerkat, who would be my next target for the lynch. (Edit: due to doc conversation, not anymore) Regarding Chartruese. It seems it was either a Dakhor, Mistborn, or Ruin just targeting random people. I’ll edit this with RP if no one else posts later.

I’m also doing a character arc, you know, just in case anyone is thinking of killing me . But I’m going to vote Indigo for leading us on a wild Weasel chase for the lynch and basically making us waste a lynch. It is highly probable this may change to a certain other player I have my eyes on right now (I’m watching you) so I’m watching them too of any suspicious activity.

Exvee looked up from his crowd of people. Some weren’t exactly the brightest knives in the pantry, but they were something. One brought him some sort of violet wine as he gulped it down in one go and immediately became more confident in his enlightenment. Soemone came up to him. Vahir? Vaire? They asked him what this was about and complimented his ability to convert. “Thank you,” He mumbled. “Though most of the credit has to go to Dave, Dave2 and Dave3. They seem to be the best at carrying out my work.” He marched onwards, waving to the most recent recruit, Dave14. The young girl seemed to have brought back another recruit, a stuffed bear. That was ok, Exvee didn’t discriminate. Resting his hand on the bear’s tiny forehead and chanting his usual phrase, he dubbed the bear Dave15 and marched forwards. “Come forth, my children!” He yelled, marching into the streets. “The night is coming, and more shall join our cause!” —-////\\\\—- Just so everyone knows, this RP is in no way indicative of my goals. I don’t have a conversion role, as was asked to me in a doc.

Vote tally: Indigo Weasel (2): Cream Tuatara, Indigo Weasel Scarlet Octopus (1): Magenta Albatross Magenta Albatross (1): Scarlet Octopus Sapphire Elephant (1): Quartz Zebra Ok, so Indigo’s being voted on because he might have Odium in his faction, Octopus is being targeted because he pushed the Toucan lynch, Magenta is being targeted for pushing a lynch against Octopus, and Sapphire is being targeted because they’re inactive. Order of who I want to lynch: 1. Magenta 2. Indigo 3. Sapphire 4. Octopus. Octopus’ reasoning seems to make sense, I believe Sapphire will probably die anyway to an inactivity filter and I’d prefer to get information from a lynch, I want to look into Indigo more before assuming he’s in the same faction as Odium and lynching him. That leaves Magenta, who pushed on a lynch to Octopus, who has explained himself in what I think is a reasonable way. It seems odd to me. This vote is not final. I will RP later. Vote tally: Indigo Weasel (2): Cream Tuatara, Indigo Weasel Scarlet Octopus (1): Magenta Albatross Magenta Albatross (2): Scarlet Octopus, Onyx Flamingo Sapphire Elephant (1): Quartz Zebra

Meanwhile, on Sel: “Just who exactly are Shards anyway?!” Exvee’s shaken voice rang through the almost empty Selish streets. He’d hoped he’d get answers here. He rolled his eyes. Like that was going to happen. “Join me! And together, we can ignore this whole fiasco!” Some beggars and commoners looked at him like he was drunk, which to their credit, he was. But he was already confused, dazed, and pining for answers he couldn’t comprehend before the drink, what difference did it make now? He’d been parading for four hours. That drink had been some strong stuff, evidently. He had almost begun to think it a lost cause. “We don’t have to be afraid! We mus-“ A tap on the shoulder cut him off from his manifesto and Exvee turned to a small man, who seemed to shrink under his gaze. The man scratched his head quickly. “Who might you be?” Exvee drunkenly boomed. “Uh, Kaon, sir, I mean, mister.” His voice was nasally and high pitched at the same time. He spoke quietly and quickly. “And why must you join me on this quest, Kaon?!” Exvee said. The man, Kaon, fumbled with his words before saying something. “I mean, it’s like that you, you know, seem very big and confident and it’s like that I sort of want to be like you.” Exvee looked over the man, and his gaze became pitiful. “Oh, you need friends, don’t you!” He said sympathetically, still shouting. The man looked around for a second then nodded. “Please,” he whispered. Exvee frowned. This called for serious measures. Dramtically taking a hand out, Exvee laid it on the shorter man’s forehead, angled up. “From this moment on!” He shouted. “You are no longer, uh, what was your name?” “Kaon, sir - uh, mister.” “You are no longer Kaon! No! From henceforth, you are renamed to... DAVE!” “Uh, thank you mister.” “You are reborn! And you shall follow me on my quest to blissful ignorance!” “Um, yes sir,” Dave said. “Great! Step one: find more converts. I send you forth, my child!” Dave nodded nervously, and scrambled away to whatever alley he’d come from. He would be back, hopefully with more recruits. Exvee smiled. This was the start of something great. And he drunk as storms. One convert down. Only the rest of the Cosmere to go.

“Hey!” Exvee yelled, as he stalked the street. He was more than a little drunk. “Can SoMeOnE pLeAse explain what this whole Shard war thing is?!” He staggered into an alleyway and then tumbled out. He felt dizzy. His father would not be proud. But then again, his father hadn’t been in the middle of a war where he didn’t even know who the fighters were or why they were so important. “I mean, everyone says they’re gods and stuff!” He passed by a mother who shielded her child away from the scary drunk guy. “But, I (hic) mean, surely if they were so important, I would have (hic) heard of them?!”

I guess that makes sense for now. And to Quartz, agreed. Though I think with the amount of people who don’t want Yolen, the planet will probably just never get created anyway, since it needs at least 4 different Shards’ Investiture in it. Anyone want to RP? I’m sort of wandering around here. ——————(R.P)—————- “End of the world!” The homeless man yelled. “It’s the end of the world!” Exvee stepped closer. “Isn’t there more than one world?” The homeless man seemed surprised someone had noticed him. “Er, yeah. It’s the end of the Cosmere! End of the Cosmere.” “But... why?” “Uh, why? Shards, kid. Shards.” “See, everyone mentions Shards like their gods or something, but no one stops to explain. What, are they like Kandra or something?” “Eh- I mean - no! You honestly have no idea what Shards are?” “Well, the name gives me a hint, so not exactly no idea.” The homeless man looked disbelieving. “Autonomy?” He said quietly. “Survival? Odium? You never heard of them?” Exvee shook his head, looking to a semi-empty bar. “Nah. You know what, I’m probably just going to get a drink. Shards are confusing, especially when you start naming them after emotions, like they’re spren one something.” With that he wandered over to the bar, opened the door, and stepped inside.

Again, it seems weird how they would assume all of this. Assuming that is secret wincons related to the Shards, then assuming Cultivation’s, or if what you’re suggesting is correct, assuming that Cultivation would be against theirs.

Yes, but anyone with the Elantrian role could’ve done the same. So unless you were in a particular rush, I don’t see how that would factor.

I doubt your wincon is compatible with every faction otherwise you wouldn’t have signalled Cultivation in particular. So, you’re assuming that Cultivation’s faction’s wincon has something to do with Cultivation. But why? Unless you have a Shard in your faction and your faction has a wincon similair to that Shard. As for Yolen, I find it interesting that someone would already try to Invest in Yolen, and seeing how lots of people don’t want Yolen come to be (and assuming some of them are Vessels) I don’t see how Yolen will actually come into creation. Maybe it’s a wincon related thing. Like they want to have control over creation over the planets or something similar to that.

I’ll quote Indigo Weasel: Hi, so what did you mean? This implies you know another Shard’s/Faction’s wincon, And since it was Day 1 there was no action you could have took to get that information. Seems odd you’d say that, you might know some information the rest of us don’t..

Exvee continued to walk down the street. He finished his Chouta. Rusts, he didn’t have enough money for a second one. He considered trying to con another one, but that would’ve been hard, considering everyone was worried about something or the other. Now it apparently was a Shard war. But Exvee found things often sounded worse than they were. “Hello,” He said to a man on the street. “Do you happen to know why a Shard war is so exciting?” The man, who Exvee internally named Dave, appeared baffled. “You... what do you mean why is it so exciting? It’s a Shard war!” Exvee sighed. “Well, that wasn’t very helpful, Dave,” and continued on his way, leaving Dave confused and asking who was this ‘Dave’ guy anyway.

So, most of the discussion seems to be centered around Toucan and him being neutral. Do to the urgent clarification, it seems he is telling some version of the truth, at least. I forgot, has he shared his win condition? If his win condition really does not hinder any faction, then why not share it? I can imagine he might really be part of a one-man faction, but there’s no way to tell whether he’s actually neutral or has a win-con based around tricking us.

Exvee didn’t know what he was doing here. He was new to the Worldhopping scene, he’d only heard brief mentions of Shards and now they were having a war. He recounted what he’d been told about the gods and then realised he hadn’t been told much other than ‘they’re prices of a much bigger god’, which left quite a lot to the imagination. “Um, hi,” he said to a passing worldhopper, who ran past without a second thought. He attempted to gather the attention of multiple worldhoppers this way. None of them seemed particularly cooperative in explaining just why a Shardic War was so worrying. Humming as he walked through Silverlight, Exvee realised ignorance was bliss. If he didn’t know why a war of gods was so frightening, he had nothing to be frightened about. So he bought a Chouta and tried not to listen to the talkings of war spreading through the city.

Long Game 49/Anonymous Game 3: Window to the Past
Onyx Flamingo replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@SE_Klade, are you referring to Thaidikar and Restares? I believe those are the only ones we don't know who was responsible for from the first half of the night... And by "men", do you mean "woman"? As you are the only male parshendi inside the palace. (I do believe there is a parshendi drummer outside... Why no one has let that person in yet is beyond me)- 1062 replies
