Anniversary Game 5/Anonymous Game 4: One Final Blaze of Light
Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The tracks lead through the woods, winding through massive oaks, and glowing mushrooms. Elsic followed them, and all the while thinking of the potential different situations he could get in. Almost none of them ended with him alive, or in good condition, but all of them were better then wandering the forest alone lack, potentially for years. As the day turned to dusk, he was able to see a faint light in the distance, in the direction of the tracks. “Don’t tell me they went to a waystop” he let out in an outburst, venting his frustration at his current situation. However, as he approached, he realized that the light was far too dim. In fact, as he watched it more closely, it was too dim. It didn’t flicker or change brightness at all. It was almost like a glow. Bioluminescence. Of course! It was obvious now that he thought about it. That was what the locals here used for transportation, so why not these illegals. Feeling much more bolstered now that he knew there weren’t any locals to deal with, he quietly approached the clearing that the light was coming from. From it he could hear voices, though he couldn’t understand the language. He got closer and closer trying to understand what they were saying. He approached the edge of the gap in the trees, and saw large lanterns, releasing a steady, if dim, glow. Inside were three figures, all in bulky armor, with visors over their faces, carrying large silver containers and spreading them around the perimeter. As they went about their task, Elsic watched. They went about stacking for 20 more minutes, continuing to talk in a language that Elsic didn’t understand. As the last container was placed, one of the figures turned and looked directly at him. “ELSIC” A loud voice boomed, reverberating in the armor. Elsic stumbled, then fell into the clearing, and as the figures watched, he got back up again. “I’m glad to see you found our tracks. It has made things so much easier for us. Here I was having to kill a local, but here you come, the perfect opportunity.” “What… What do you mean?” Elsic asked, his voice quavering. In response the figure raised a pistol, Taldain in design, and fired it directly into Elsic’s chest. “Why…? They’ll come for you too” Elsic said as shades began to flood into the area, and he fell limply to the ground. “Silly Elsic,” the figure responded “The shades do not attack what the Cosmere does not consider alive.” With that final message, the figures moved through the shades, going to the containers, and using them to capture the shades. When they were finished with their figures gathered in the center of the clearing, still ignoring the shades, and gave one final look at the body of the Orange University Professor, and Elsecalled away.- 1226 replies

Anniversary Game 5/Anonymous Game 4: One Final Blaze of Light
Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The light of the dawn awoke Elsic, and with it came relief. Relief that he had finally fallen asleep, and relief that he had woken up. He stood up slowly, groggily, and grabbed his pack. He checked the contents and ensured that all his equipment and his food was there. Relieved to discover that they were all there, he let out a long held breath, and began to follow his tracks through the forest. As he traveled his thoughts turned to his research. He’d gone to Threnody DeMilitarized Zone in order to finally discover the quantum signature of Ambition’s investiture, something that he had studied for years. He’d written his thesis on the origin for the bizarre waves that had come from this area, and had finally been able to confirm his theories himself. It seemed only fitting that he would be hit by a rogue perpendicularity, and had been sucked through. As his thoughts turned to his work, he lost track of time, and soon he found the end of his tracks. They lead directly to the trunk of a tree, and were joined by several others. “Impossible” The words slipped out without thinking. Only 2 or 3 researchers in the previous 20 years were allowed into the region, and though people could come in illegally, however considering how dangerous the region was with, entering was a risk most operations weren’t willing to take. Making a snap decision, Elsic decided to follow them. He knew that they likely didn’t enter the zone legally, but if they had a way to get out from here he would be willing to take the risk.- 1226 replies

Anniversary Game 5/Anonymous Game 4: One Final Blaze of Light
Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
There were laws everywhere, but none were as important as the ones on Threnody. Professor Elsic muttered the simple rules to himself over and over again as he wondered the Forests of Hell, looking for the rogue perpendicularity that had brought him through to this physical realm of this storming planet. The shades watched him silently as he wandered in the dark, not daring to turn on his flashlight. His colleagues still hadn’t figured out if electric lights counted as kindling a flame, and he was not storming about to find out. He had enough food in his pack to survive for a few days out here, assuming he couldn’t find any civilization. Storms, if he found an outpost he didn’t know what he would do. He didn’t have the clearance to interact with the locals, and if he did the amount of paperwork he have to fill out was horrifying. He checked his watch. 3:00 am. The watch had been a gift from Emily a few years back, and he’d worn it every day since. It had automatically set to Threnody Central Time when he arrived. Even after years of owning it, he still wasn’t sure how it worked, but he had the genius’s at Citron Corp to thank for it, which he audibly did. As he said the words, his mind finally processed the time, he stumbled over to a tree, slipped off his pack, and under the watchful eyes of the shades, slipped to sleep. Written on mobile, so apologies for any spelling/grammar issues- 1226 replies

Renarin shook his head at the chaos. He didn't want to get involved with assassins or eavesdroppers. He just wished Adolin hadn't been thrown out, he was far more use for such situations, at least when he wasn't being hotheaded.- 1062 replies

Dovie'andi se tovya sagain. I hope you guys are right about this, although I cannot support a lynch on Swan as I am 95% sure he/she is a refugee. Azure Mouse. Amethyst Scorpion. For the same reasons as earlier. If this is all some elaborate hoax, I'll not be impressed -

Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It depends on numbers. However the vote goes, next cycle we are down to six (assuming they get a kill in here and wherever they could, because why wouldn't they?). If we kill one of them, and they are elim, then the elim team is down to two, and we know who they are. That puts us at 4:2 in our favour, shenanigans withstanding. If we vote for someone else, and they are the elim team, there is nothing we can do. If they are telling the truth, and we kill one of them, and the elim team is 3 players, then there is nothing we can do. If they are telling the truth and the elim team is less than 3 players, we still have advantage of numbers, even without one of them. Edit: Replying to Crocodile, above. But you yourself pointed out that Falcon was acting exactly like you'd expect someone you were supposed to be protecting might act. Even if you weren't entirely sure, was it not enough for you to swing the lynch to save him? You had the votes to do so. Edit 2: I'm off to bed but will be checking in before rollover to see what else comes to light. Until then though, there are too many questions about this EIB story for me to be happy not voting for one of them. I'm not going to count on Azure's vote on himself, since that can be easily shifted, but he did volunteer to be lynched, and it has to be either Azure Mouse or Mauve Crocodile to confirm their story (unless we can find the tin spike, I suppose, but no guarantee there, this gives us definite role information), so Cream Tuatara, Azure Mouse. -

But if they are lying and they are the elim team, and we don't lynch one of them today, they win. Even if their wincon isn't to outnumber the villagers, but to kill the informants, we've seen there seems to be some kind of vote manipulation going on, supporting their votes. So after this cycle, they effectively have 4 votes to our 3, so control the lynch completely. If we kill one of them, we can verify their story or prove it false, and if it turns out to be true, they still haven't lost their wincon, and the refugees are more likely to support the pair that remain. That should still be enough to keep the game in favour of the refugees. This brings me back round to thinking about voting for Azure. He volunteered for the vote by voting on himself, possibly so we could use him to confirm all of this? From Crocodile's post just above, so I'm not double posting: Tuatara wasn't up for lynch. It was between Falcon and Vulture, pretty much the entire cycle. -

Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Something else that makes me question this claim. From Mauve Crocodile during the discussion about lynching Emerald Falcon: He points out that Falcon is specifically behaving like the people they are supposed to be protecting, and yet they still vote for him. That is too much of a colossal facepalm to sell the story. Sorry, but this is enough to make me believe that something else is going on. So, for now, Amethyst Scorpion. I should put my vote on Mauve Crocodile, since he's the one that said this, but Since Azure Mouse already has a vote, they can have it for now. I could be willing to change this depending on what is said, but I see this comment as a major hole in Cream's explanation. Edit: Upon reread, I realise that this vote seems unfair on Azure, since it was Cream Tuatara's claim, and Mauve's comment that clashed, so Azure Mouse. I'll wait and see what others think. Edit 2: Upon consideration, I've decided that, since Azure's vote is on himself, and therefore very easy to shift, I should disregard it from my thoughts. So, I'm going to place a vote where I think it belongs, for now at least, until answers are forthcoming. Cream Tuatara. @Mauve Crocodile @Cream Tuatara @Azure Mouse - Any explanations? -

@Cream Tuatara Oh, and #3 - Why do you want Swan dead? You slipped the vote in there, but without reasoning. -

The scan was used already - on Cream Tuatara. That's how he joined their little group. I've got to say, I do like the flavour touch. But, @Cream Tuatara - I do have a few questions... #1 - You gave up Mauve and Azure's roles, but not your own. Would you mind completing the set? #2 - This one is more interesting. In C2, Emerald Falcon said that if he revealed his role he'd be killed, but didn't know who by. Why did you all vote for him, if you were here trying to protect people who were on the run, even if you hadn't managed to identify him as a Fleeing Informant? It's probably hindsight on my part, but did you not suspect? -

Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Assuming this EIB Agent thing is correct, it takes two people out of the potential pool that could be a Fleeing Informant. Three if they accept Cream's insistence they don't know who the 'last' Fleeing Informant is, since that obviously makes it not him. There are only 8 of us left, so that cuts the pool almost in half. There has already been speculation that the elims are hunting someone, someones, or something, as opposed to the usual 'kill/outnumber the village' wincon, and our wincon confirms it isn't the usual, so hunting the informants, or maybe the agents, does make sense. This makes me dubious about Cream's claim, since unless the elims have multiple objectives, it means the EIB Agents wincon is basically the same as ours, if worded differently. Speaking of wording, I did get confirmation from Seonid that my plan to provide proof is not allowed So no-one else thinks about it, and because I said I would say, my plan was to take part of the text from the initial PM, then rewrite it in such a way that any other refugee would be able to recognise. But that much paraphrasing isn't allowed. Shame, I thought it was a brilliant plan. Anyways, that aside, if we get a mislynch tonight, it means the elims have won (assuming the speculated 3 players), so what better time to launch some kind of ploy that stops people looking at conveniently three players (speculated as the number in the elim team for this game)? It would be a ballsy move. I do see one thing though, that suggests this is all wild fantasy in my mind. Has anyone ever heard of an elim team that all voted together for the entire game? I'm still dubious, but this last fact makes me think I'm making it up. I'm going to continue to consider, reread old posts, so for now my vote stays where it is. Edit: Quick clarification about the elims winning based on speculative numbers, not knowledge I don't have but may have implied I did. -

I do see your point here, but Mr Doctor proved in one of our more recent games that an active elim, trying to build up trust, can be a very effective tool. Given it's recent success, I could easily see a cocky elim trying to pull it off. I suppose this would be an easier call if we knew who was behind the mouse mask. -

My vote patterns? I voted twice for Amber Vulture, and once to survive. What's so dodgy about that? I had suspicions about Amber, I still do, but I now have other suspicions that are a little more pressing. Like how Azure Mouse has been seemingly directing the vote. Maybe directing is too severe a word, and influencing is better, but under his influence, only innocents have died. Plus we have all seen how effective a "trusted" elim can be. Fair enough on Tuatara. It makes more sense now, but I would have phrased it differently in my first post. As for my proof, there will be a reveal once Seonid has replied to my question. This reveal will be either the proof I'm offering, or a description of what I was thinking of doing, along with confirmation that Seonid said I couldn't. I can guarantee though, that if it comes to it, every other refugee on the ship can use it to confirm I am also a refugee. Edit: While we're at it... @Amber Vulture You also say things like "his posts are off," but offer little in the way of evidence. What about my posts are off? -
Mid-Range Game 30/Anonymous Game 2: - Scadrian Black Ops
Melon Dingo replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Why me? I've seen a few people say they think my posts are "off," but I have yet to see any good reasons for it. If Vulture is, in your eyes, 'iffy,' why not a vote for him? Same with Tuatara. Why let him 'off the hook' to vote for someone you're not even providing suspicions about? Also, see my edit above. I can prove I am village, I'm just waiting to hear if my proof is allowed or not. If someone is about to confirm themselves village, why would you place a vote on them? Edit: Also, what is "idek"? Edit 2: Azure Mouse. Amethyst Scorpion. I don't like how I'm being targeted with nothing except "I feel like it." It stinks of him being worried about my potential proof, since if I can prove my innocence, then others may be able to as well. An elim would be worried about this. -

If only activity was an indicator of alignment. Azure Mouse. I don't like how you have been a driving force in every lynch so far, and they have all been innocents. Also, I think your claims of feeling guilty sound like you are trying to avoid sounding like an elim. Instead of going for TWTBAW, it's not wolfy enough to be a wolf, and your self vote ploy is just that. A ploy to make us all think you are innocent. Edit: Also, you are appearing on a lot of people's suspicions lists, but have managed to avoid accruing votes yourself. 2nd Edit: @Amber Vulture I think I have a way of proving I am a refugee, I'm just waiting to hear from Seonid to see if it's allowed or not. I'm hoping it will be. -

Might I suggest those claiming falcon is completely umwilling to help the village take another look at his speculation wit the info that he's non-village? We probably have to lynch him to get the most out of that info, but I suspect that's going to be a valuable final post. Lastly, can I point out that if falcon's an elim, or explicitly anti-village, there's no reason why he couldn't have just made up some answers to placate you all? The fact that he hasn't suggests that he doesn't have a team that could take over if he dies, and/or that such subterfuge would harm his win-con. I've said this before, but this is the perfect mislynch for the elims. We aren't gaining a cycle, as crocodile claimed, by lynching a non-village, we're losing a cycle by doing a lynch that'll get us almost no information on the identity of the elim team.
