Pardon my *cough* cough. I seemed to have developed something nasty overnight. Back in my day, people talked more. I'd expected *cough* more than one comment after my sleep. @Melon Dingo, @Pearl Chameleon, you've yet to show up at all! And on top of that, hardly any *cough* discussion has sprung forth and we're past halfway! Speaking of which- I've heard that those called @little wilson and @Elbereth are in charge here- can one of you kindly supply a tally of the *cough* current votes?- 1222 replies

Really amazing poems, Hyena. Pity they're not rule specific. I'll enjoy them all the same. I hope Lion is actually going Ratatouille. That'd be fantastic, and warm my old soul right down to my arthritis'd toes. Prudence, along with my request for Sapphire Elephant, I ask for one with Coral Swan. Much appreciated and thank you. While I'm here, sitting around this fire... you folks deserve a story. My story, one you never asked for but will get all the same. Let's see... It all started many, many years ago. I'm not going to calculate each second or we'd be here for eons, but I personally doubt there's more than, say, sixteen of you folks older than me. What also doesn't matter is which world I was born- They're all the same once the cosmere comes into play. You can rest easy knowing it wasn't Braize or Ashyn; I'm not one of those freaks. Perhaps I don't say because I can't- once you've lived as long as me you have so many memories you can't store them anymore. I was born Garrison Elitrude Morgasian Brockett, from a long line of Brocketts, dating back to before the whole Shattering mess. My family has records of Adonalsium's reign, and of course I'm not going to share them. 'The more you know' is simply hogwash. I have pieces of information that would shake your realities, burn your brain cells, bubble and burst your veins until blood oozes from every pore. Depending on where you're from, of course. But I digress. As hard as it is to believe, I wasn't always this old. Sometimes I think I was born sixty, but as far as I know I was born zero like any other man. My parents were decently well known merchants and travellers, and I never had a true home. Like Ostrich, in a way, but perhaps less tragic. At least until my very own parents were killed, our moneybox stolen. I'm confident the killer would have slain me had I not been running the streets in a moment of rebellion. When I returned my mind was forever scarred with the image of their broken bodies. That is one memory that will not be pushed to the brink. That night, I took what left we had not stolen and sold it for a fraction of its value, living off scraps until I was about ten. Or fifteen. You should know by now my memory isn't the best. Regardless, I was eventually hired at a local bakery, provoking what I like to call my pastry phase- those were the days. Rolling dough, snitching cream from the stock out back... By now, I was getting a reputation. But it wasn't for baking. You see, along with my pastry phase I had decided to try a few alley games. Those shell chance ones, and cards, and things like that. I would bet my wages, and I would lose. But I'd always come back. Gambling cheaters took advantage of my glossed-over eyes. Hence you can see why I then took up alcoholism, drinking in my own pity. I never got as bad as Al is, dear friend Al, though I do believe I came close. Then, (or before, I can't recall the exact order of things) I met a girl. And- *Yawn* That's all for now. My life story will continue later. I can tell you're all just hooked. One more thing: Some of you refer to things you say as 'OOC'. In all my years I don't think I've ever come across such an abbreviation- though that beggar on the corner there told me it meant 'out of character'. Such a statement makes little sense to a brain such as mine- are some of you fakes, beyond the name? Why, I would be very disappointed if I were but a character. Such a backstory as mine can be only be fact.- 1222 replies

Why would I argue against poke voting if I did just that in my first spoken words? When I speak distaste of hasty votes, I mean votes like Gorilla's, in which I see no reason to reiterate my thoughts when they're recorded for all to reread. (Gotta love modern technology- back in the day we had paper and pencils.) I would think if you had been in enough poke vote discussions to be annoyed by them you would know some form of difference. That being said, they irk me as well, so let's cut it here- 1222 replies

Pardon, but I doubt Gorilla's vote was a poke vote. It sounded serious to me. It might just be by withered brain forgetting definitions again, but I believe what you would call a 'poke vote' is what my original distaste of Scorpion was.- 1222 replies

I see your point, though you exaggerate the emphasis I placed on waiting, making it sound like I suggested doing nothing. (Which, granted, I'm very practiced and able at doing nothing- comes with being old.) I'm not opposed to you calling out Kangaroo the way you did, like I mentioned I was wondering the same thing, but I found the vote itself hasty. Like it was begging for others to follow, which I almost did.- 1222 replies

Instead of waiting for anything else, yes. It's my viewpoint that those opposing Odium are more likely to consider and wait for the best execution option, which children of Odium would gladly take any excuse to run with a false suspicion that seems grounded, but really isn't.- 1222 replies

Violet Axolotl replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The way I see it is plain and simple: Autonomy has the ability to stop Odium's kill, if the stars align. Now, if I were the big bad, Odium himself, the last thing I would want running around is a Shard that can stop my killing spree. So while I understand your reasoning, I disagree. Survival is another matter. They might actually benefit from showing their face. Not that I would do it if I were them, but it likely wouldn't be as risky as an Autonomy claim. I'll lay off Scorpion. I still want them to show up, as long as they stay far from me, but I dislike how Gorilla looked to obvious places to find someone to accuse. Even I thought deeper, and my IQ has been diminishing for at least ninety years!- 1222 replies

Ha! Even with my memory I remember this. I might join you, barring on when Scorpion decides to show their mandibled face. I am curious to know what Kangaroo thought about those two Shards would warrant a safe claim. For those concerned, my voice has recovered. The water helped nicely, even if I did have to steal it from out of a barrel.- 1222 replies

Six minutes! By jove, I don't know what I would have done! My frail body would have been blown away and snapped like a twig. I am a stick, for all practical purposes. It would have hit me hard, being on Roshar and all... Say, would any of you protecting types feel obliged to help an old man like me? With residing on the 'Big Bad's' territory and all, I'm a tad scared of getting struck down. Even I couldn't withstand a direct blast from Odium without help. Forgive my memory, comes with being elderly, but I seem to have forgotten to yell at the one I disapprove of: @Amethyst Scorpion. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go take a drink of water to help my wounded throat. The mention does negative wonders to the old voicebox. Edit: As an afterthought, @Prudence, I'll take a PM with the drunkard. Even in all my years I've never seen anything like him.- 1222 replies

Well I'll be. This fellow is simply ghastly, though I suppose I can't blame a drunkard. I haven't ever been under as far as this one, thank the... whatever planet I'm on, but I suppose sympathizing with the man is within my abilities. He isn't the worst drunk I've seen; once I witnessed a Horneater drink so much Horneater White he was convinced he was a chicken from Shinovar on the butchering pile! Figures you’d leave it up to your elders to break the ice. My life hasn’t been easy, you know. Naming the years gets confusing with all these worlds, but suffice it to say I’ve been around a long time. Maybe not as long as some of you god-types, but the years start graining on the bones and tearing at the mind after staring at the sun for decades on end. The name’s Brockett. Sir Brockett to you, that is, though my frail memory can’t recall where the title came from. I feel it is legitimate. My veins would tremble and blow open before I went by a lie. That’s no further business to you. I’ll say what I like and you can be content with it, and that’s that. You lot remind me of that skirmish that took place some fifty years ago. I can’t remember which planet it occured, but it doesn’t seem to matter. They all died in the end, ‘cept for me. I’ve always had a knack for survival. A Boon and a Curse, some of you would say. Anywho, I’m hoping that we can avoid another victory for Death. Death’s been gunning at me for years, and I’ve always said a firm no, though now I’m not sure. My aches get worse and worse day by day... But I’m here now, and if my title doesn’t influence me to help weed out those turned to the power of hate I don’t know what will. That folk calling himself Scorpion can’t be anything but trouble. I remember an infestation of those things back in the day. The forsaken creatures were under the floorboards, crawling in the walls- gave my wife a near heart attack. After the swarm became too much, we were forced to abandon the residence, and I’ve hated the things ever since. As for my chosen name, Axolotl was the hardest thing to spell I could think of. Welcome to the real world, kids.- 1222 replies

Darnit the failsafe failed Good job elims with that victory And well done for making me so unsure meerkat. To me it was honestly a 50/50 who was evil. Its not apparent since no vote count, but i put in an order to cancel your vote in case you lied about lightweaving. I was more comfortable rigging the vote so it could tie and have a chance of lynching you than a guanrantee that if im wrong its over it seems the odds were not in my favour and the coin saved you but ah well, I cant be mad at a coinflip cause at least i tried I had a lot of fun this game, even though tht last cycle was quite stressful and why did yall have to make me the one to choose those who kept my pms fun and active, yall awesome, but specifically rhino, gorilla and toucan v2, those were the funnest pms, but you all died so quickly The most interesting part of this game for me was my self imposed rule of no backspacing (other than minor spelling errors) because i always overthink my posts. Was interesting just having to go with whatever i said and not changing it. Certainly helped me be more active in thread than id normally be, and i think its helped me be a lot more confident in a thread context so, glad this game happened and facilitated my experiment on that note, very good job to the gms. So many excellent write ups! Mucj respect Oh! figured since this was a thing only in one pm, id share the other parody i wrote (to albatross cause i was bored (also was another fun pm))

Yknow i envy you two. Its an easy decision who to vote on for you guys. I have to make a choice >> and knowing me I'll probably make the wrong one. But I'm going to side with meerkat. At the end of the day, i feel like i have good reason to vote on either of you, and decent reason to trust both of you, but given that one of you must be evil, i guess i can't rely on my trusts. I feel that Weasel has a greater opportunity for evil. And when it comes to the lack of role use, weasel you've had vote manip two cycles in a row- two opportunities to prove it couldn't be you and you've chosen not to. On the other hand Meerkats had two roles that we couldn't prove so easy. So you both have equally been able to put in kills. Yes either of you couldve just made up what roles you had but i dont personally think thats been the case. Ive been bouncing between both of you this whole cycle tbh, hence such a delay in my vote, and theres so many different factors going into this but yeah. I think this is what I'm going with. Bleh even right now im hesitant to hit post lol because i have so many doubts. I somewhat wish a tied lynch killed all so i wouldnt have to choose >> blaaargh normally my hesitation would tell me i wouldrather lynch meerkat but i know for a fact id be doing the same thing if i did because im equally O_O about the both of you and i know i shouldnt be and that its probably obvious who it is but im frankly overthinking everything so welp. Hate lylos
-
Hm thats a good point about the lack of use of their role. Even though yours is not provable, meerkat, did you end up using yours, and who on?
-
Seriously? -_-' Well then. I doubt there's dustbringers tonight but if there are, i'd highly recommend you don't- there's 4 of us left, and one will die tonight due to elim kill. A 2v1 lynch can work, a 1v1... that is less likely to. unless we can go nuclear and just ensure one villager survives and the rest dont buuut thats not ideal imo Its not me or flamingo- we did actions that weren't the kill, assuming no ones lying. so its weasel or meerkat. bleh time to do lots of thinking
-
I think when it comes to weasel, while sure theres no reason an elim cant scan someone and tell people theyre village, theres no reason an elim can't just let a villager dictate their kill. Its just So if weasel and iguana were teammates. One a dustbringer and one using the elim kill. Albatross contacts weasel and tells them to kill scorpian. An elim would know scorpian is innocent so no reason not to contest this. But then when it came to people revealing actions, why would they both claim the same action? I feel like if i was iguana and i knew weasel had been the one to kill scorpian, id probably try claim ownership of herons death instead, since there would be a chance whoever killed them may have died, whereas you know for sure theres someone to contest that kill if your own teammate was the one to do it. And no one did claim herons death. Idk i feel like id have chosen sharing the kill with someone unknown opposed to someome you know is still alive and had coordinated ahead of time so would have backup concerning actually having done it. I mean anythingd possible, but in my head i feel like it makes more sense for iguana to be just claiming a random death and hoping it goes uncontested, which given the innactivity at the time was entirely plausible That being said theres always opportunity for evil and people ive trusted have turned out evil and people i suspect turn out good so who knows. Ill be voting kangaroo but i will say as far as order of trusts, for me it is: flamingo, meerkat, weasel, kangaroo. I believe flamingos claim on that kill (albatross claimed bondsmith to me so they definitely didnt do the kill, and toucan didnt kill themself (well i hope not) so whoever killed toucan would be alive, and the kill has gone uncontested so, im happy accepting they did it. Which clears them) and with meerkat- the lynch on iguana, and also the fact that theyre willing to vote differently to the rest of us even with so few rather than just follow the pack because any target will do, makes me feel good about their alignment. It would be much easier for an elim to just go with the flow Thing is atm, as i probably mentioned before. I feel like i have a reason to trust basically everyone, but kangaroo has barely contributed at all, even though they condemned iguana in their anon message, anyone can thow suspicion on a teammate, and it was something more obvious in thread that was easy to comment on imo. Idk. Everyone else is willing to work together. Kangaroo is not helping in any way. Also yeah I'll just use my thingy on flamingo. Stops vote manip, and they have no need of beng scanned so shouldnt be a problem for anything. Doesn't achieve much but its something
-
Well then. 5 left Presumably only one evil left. I would assume albatross was the elim kill Axolotyl - Edgedancer Flamingo - Claimed Dustbringer Meerkat - Claimed Elsecaller Weasel - Claimed wilshaper Kangaroo - Unknown I... feel like by now we should know for certain who it is. I feel like i have reasons to trust everyone to a degree which makes this problematic. I'm inclined to suggest kangaroo since they are the one we know the very least about but I'd like to hear if anyone else has any ideas so far. Even though there's some un-provable actions with people concerning last cycle, i'm more willing to believe people who have contributed and are willing to work with each other than someone who's said very little Also can confirm that that edgedancer message was mine. It's a parody of 'Quiet' from Matilda
-
I've claimed my action to albatross, toucan has a hint sorta as well (enjoy over thinking that its really not clear at aall) oh yeah, been talking to toucan in pms so yes theyve pmed others I admit I'm surprised by the lack of scans myself. Unless we're either been killing the scanned people off as soon as they are scanned, or the scanners have been taken out in the kills or something. I don't have any to share at this point- last time i had the chance to scan they went and died a day later so isnt helpful for us now at all.
-
Good point. Unless its someone they definitely trust and via pm. That sorta thing def to keep out of thread though for sure. Ill be letting people know mine via pm since its a night specific action but yeah. I appreciate you letting us know though
