  1. "Suppose so," Liseran answered. "Though that's up to interpretation. It depends on what you would consider a god. Where I'm from, lots of people call themselves gods, but they aren't all that great and powerful." She paused, thinking about her travels and staring out into the vast expanse before her. It was incredible. "There are some places with what I'd consider to be real gods, like here. But I haven't found any I really care for." Soft cloth wrapped around her arms reminded her, though she didn't care for the source, she took advantage of what was out there. Liseran couldn't speak too poorly of the gods. "Scadrial's god doesn't seem too bad, if a little aloof from real problems. Trust me, there are worse out there than Harmony."
  2. Right as Liseran was about to reach toward the window, a voice pulled her out of her reverie. She could hear the anger seeping through the man's voice. "Realistically, Harmony has little to do with any of this," she said. "Few of the gods actually do something to help. More often, if they do anything, they hurt humanity. At least from what I have seen. If they do help, they don't tend to live long." Remebering her own world, Liseran was unimpressed with "gods." She had met many, none of which had impressed her. They all seemed to focused on themselves and their games.
  3. RP, because the thread has hit a lull. ----- "Quiet tonight, isn't it," Liseran muttered toward someone leaning against a wall. The occupants of the ship had gathered after discovering another death on the ship. It was unfortunate their albatross had been thrown out an airlock. Liseran had actually liked them. Quite a few of their number, Liseran included, found the Falcon to be rather unusual. But she could still feel the eyes of some of her companions following her as she stood and left the room. They were not friendly eyes. Quibbling. That's all it had really been so far. A bunch of talk over minute details. They were all so desperate to survive. But Liseran couldn't blame them, for she was among them. She didn't want to die. Not before making it back to her home world at least once more. Quick steps down the hallway helped her calm her nerves. She took a few deep breaths and found a center within herself. It would be okay. Her pace slowed and she started to inspect her surroundings. The metal of the ship was a boring, dull gray. She had never been in a space ship before. She preferred to keep her feet on solid ground, but she had no choice. She had a purpose, which had been delayed by the recent events. The sooner they could catch the brutal murderer, the better. Liseran became lost in thought until something caught her eye and brought her out of her trance. A window she had not yet seen. Looking out onto a field of space. Quintessential colors filled the sky before her. Deep purple and vibrant blues. Pinks streaked across the skies like banners glittering with a million sparkling diamonds. Liseran's breath caught as the colors dances before her. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
  4. Most of my reasoning for the vote against Falcon is they say they are not a refugee. They "knew" there was a third faction, which as far as I'm concerned, there is only speculation there is a third faction. As for the body-swap: That's what I mean when I say body-swap. That was in the initial call for signups. It's not a role swap, but an account swap. That's why I'm relatively certain there is that mechanic in play. I might also add, I'm not the only one who believed that, as seen in the first few pages of discussion last cycle. I don't get how my sympathizing with him, while still considering him suspicious, is toxic. Most of my first post about him was pointing out fallacies in arguments against him. If I'm going to lynch someone, I want it to be based on logical reasoning if at all possible. I didn't think the focus should be on what word he used to describe the win-con. But I do think there is justification when it comes to what he said after that. Again, he "knew" there was a third faction, and has stated he's not a refugee. He's said the village might want to kill him if they knew his role. That, to me, is enough logical justification for a lynch against him. If he's not an eliminator, then we have the chance to confirm what this possible third faction is. It's only C2 and that kind of lynch, while not ideal, would give us helpful information. I'm still willing to move forward with it. Also, of all the people voting on Falcon, why single me out? Yes, I understand there has been some suspicion cast on me because of last cycle, but I'm not the only one sticking to my guns on this lynch. EDIT: Also, why do people keep using my name in place of Falcon's?
  5. He has since said he is not neutral, but has a role that either the village or elims would want dead (but not both). That's suspicious enough for me to keep my vote where it is. But I'll keep an open mind of someone comes up with another option that's just as suspicious.
  6. I get you. That was my entire existence during D1... constantly digging myself a bigger hole. I'm inclined to believe you're not an elim, but what you said before this makes me hesitate to remove my vote. You say you're not neutral, nor are you village or elim. You say both would want to kill you if we learned what you are. That suggests a third faction with a strange win-con. Is it out to kill both other factions? Or could it be like the Cthaeh mechanic during the last MR, where one of each faction has to remain? Or does that faction have abilities that could be problematic for both elims and village?
  7. This was from the original post of the game (I bolded the word), and why I'm not putting a lot of stock in anyone's use of the word refugee on D1. Anyone who read the initial write-up could have picked up on that being the village role. It's part of why I didn't even take notice of Weasel and Albatross' italicized interaction. I remember thinking "why would they italicize those words?", but I didn't equate it with being village because I thought everyone knew that already. For a point toward Falcon, I didn't see him using the word "survive" as anything odd. A village win-con usually comes with the inherent order to survive in order to win. When I read his first post, I equated it with his description here. However, him admitting he's not a refugee does give me pause. It could be he's another "Fleeing Informant", which very well could be a village faction with a slightly different wincon than just kill the eliminators. However, I'm of the mindset that this is more of a "role-madness" style game, where there are special roles that the village can hold. I'm less inclined to believe "Fleeing Informant" is a sub-faction. That leaves Falcon as either an eliminator, or the unknown faction. The first part of this quote from Emerald Falcon leads me to lean toward the latter. We don't know there's a third, non-elim faction. We have guessed based on the body-swap mechanic, but we have also speculated that might be part of the elim team's abilities. The third sentence gives me pause. He's already admitted to not being a refugee, so he wouldn't know that was part of the win-con unless he picked up on that when someone mentioned it D1. Only now assuming there's an elim team feels strange to me. It's like he's attempting to distance himself from elims by saying he wasn't sure there were any. Either way, I'm suspicious of of Emerald Falcon.
  8. An informant in a past game based on Scadrial was a scanning ability. They could discover someone's role. My guess is a Fleeing Informant would have similar mechanics.
  9. Perhaps this could be beneficial to Liseran. But deep within, she could tell it was a very, very tenuous alliance. She couldn't fully trust this V, nor the Denestra woman. But it would do for now. People continued to shoot glances in her direction, but it seemed to be ebbing for now. The vote seemed to come down to two people. Liseran hoped whoever fell victim to the mob's bloodlust was truly deserving. "Your bloodlust," she reminded herself. "You voted, too." Possibilities of a brighter future we're quickly dimming. None of this would end well.
  10. A tie has the potential of showing us what's kind of vote manipulation mechanics might be out there. Then again, so does a close lynch if one side is worried about the other side also having vote manipulation. But it's something to consider. If it does remain tied and both die, that's another mechanic we know. Yes, it would be unfortunate for two to die, but we'd know moving forward to secure a solid lynch if we don't want a multi-person lynch.
  11. I believe Swan removed his vote from Weasel here:
  12. I kind of put myself in a catch 22 situation by siding with Magenta that first time regarding the Ivory lynch. As I said, that was mostly a useful segue into a conclusion I had reached prior to even reading those posts. That one post had a few people tying my alignment to Magenta's. I knew it, too, which is why I've mentioned it. That one sentence could effectively mean my death no matter how they flipped. It's a catch 22 for me, for if Magenta is village, I will be seen as having tried to pocket them at first. If I stuck with the sinking ship (as I apparently have chosen to do despite my best judgemet), people will say I am an elim trying to appear as a helpful villager by trying to protect a village. On the other hand if they're elim, people will say I was an eliminator trying to waylay suspicion before it grew too much. If I had stopped my defense and they were elim, people will say I was trying to distance myself from the sinking ship. Any way it goes, I'm dead because of one statement. I just decided to roll with it, because I didn't really have any other option. ----------- "Not really, no," Liseran said, relaxing slightly. "I was trying to help, but it seems I've made a mess of things." Never again would she attempt to help a stranger, if this was how much actions were greeted in the part of the Cosmere. If she died here, on this colorless hunk of metal... No, she couldn't think of that. She couldn't resign herself to that date yet. She still had a mission. "Noticed you've pretty well stayed out of things," Liseran said, nodding toward the man in the brilliantly blue coat. "Though I did hear some whispers earlier. How did you avoid the attention, if you don't mind my asking?" ---- EDIT: Ninja'd by a new RP, so I'm joining in. ---- "Oh, hello," said Liseran as she noticed a woman with a metal arm. She eyed the woman suspiciously. Could she be trusted? Liseran had to take precautions, but being alone on this ship sounded about as appealing as a day spent with "gods". Only one thing could help her live just a while longer. Allies. So she held out a hand to the woman, offering it up as a gesture of good faith.
  13. "Move. Just keep moving," thought Liseran as she continued to walk through the crammed corridors of the Pride of Terris. She did not care for the enclosed spaces, nor for the smells brought by having so many people stuffed into them. Maybe it would all be over soon. If they did not discover the threat, she could easily be killed. Liseran saw how people looked at her as she passed. Those stares told her it might not even be the threat that got to her. Movement in a dark shadow caught her eye and she reflexively twitched the end of one of her arm wraps. She felt the light, almost pink, purple cloth loosen, but it did not fall. "Mouse," she muttered as she saw the small animal scamper down the hallway. She twitched the cloth again and it tightened. Then she noticed a man step out wearing a vibrant blue coat. It was one of the best colors she'd seen since appearing on the ship. "Morning," she said. "Or evening. Whatever time it is. It's quite difficult to tell here." ------ Azure, I was working on this when you posted. I'm up for RPing, as noted in the last paragraphs. As a side note, I keep imagining your character wearing a Guy Fawkes mask.
  14. Magenta, you'd better flip village. Otherwise, I'm in a lot of trouble. I've always been partial to lynching inactives early on when there are few clues to alignments. I like keeping people alive who are willing to talk and add to the discussion, unless there is good reason to lynch them. When it comes to Magenta, I just don't see it. I'm probably digging my own grave here, but I can't in good conscience move forward with a lynch against them without trying to help.
  15. Thanks! I can't get my tagging function to work and was desperately trying to figure out how to alert someone. As for Tuatara, I'm not against it. They've had two posts, both fairly NAI. However, like Magenta said, it was basically the same kind of thing the lynch against him was about. So, Charcoal Hyena Lots of Oops Awards!
  16. No one has really stood out yet to me. My spidey-senses (Vulture senses?) are telling me something is off about Dingo, but I haven't been able to peg it down to anything specific. I'll look into things a bit more.
  17. That is quite the predicament. Much like the one I'm in currently. Weasel voted on me because of my defense of your vote on Dragonfly. Now I'm defending you yet again. If you die, either way you flip will put me under more scrutiny. They'll say "See, Vulture was trying to pocket him" or "Of course they are both elim. Vulture was trying to save a teammate." But I really don't think you're elim, and I find little justification for the lynch against you. I, however, like Weasel, can't vote on Coral without a reason. I'll do some analysis of him specifically to see what I can find, but thus far, he hasn't stood out.
  18. Here's my vote count so far: Coral Swan (1) - Amethyst Scorpion Magenta Albatross (3) - Azure Mouse, Cream Tuatara, Melon Dingo Amber Vulture (1) - Indigo Weasel Azure Mouse (1) - Magenta Albatross Charcoal Hyena and Chartreuse Penguin are the only ones who have yet to place a vote, though there are several (myself included) who do not have a current vote. Charcoal has only posted once. I would tag him to get his attention, but I'm on mobile and it doesn't seem to want to work. Charcoal, what say you about the current debate? EDIT: I forgot to add my own thoughts on the debate. I find myself disagreeing with the lynch on Magenta, mostly because after reviewing posts, I didn't find anything that was really outright suspicious. At least not any more than half of the players. I also don't agree with Magenta about lynching Azure. However, a lynch on either Magenta, Azure or Indigo would give a bit of information regarding possible alignment of players they've interacted with. Each of them have interacted with quite a variety of people so far.
  19. I'm quite gorgeous, if I do say so myself...
  20. I had been hesitant to phrase my statement the way I did because of this reason. No matter how Magenta flipped, I could easily be seen as elim for having defended them. However, my intention was not exactly to defend Magenta, but to defend my own vote on Ivory. Magenta's post and the previous discussion just made a good segue for me. I had already been in the process of taking note of who had and hadn't posted yet with the intention to vote on someone who had yet to join. The only person left happened to be Ivory. The bandwagon has pretty much disappeared, but as far as my count shows, there had been about 4-5 votes on Ivory before they posted. I hadn't thought about that aspect of things. A true swap would make things... interesting, to say the least. However, it's not impossible. It very well could be not a Kandra. It could be a mask-swap based on the people discovered in Mistborn Era 2. Also, it could be a village role designed to help infiltrate the elim team, making a swap with an elim member the ideal situation (though, admittedly, imbalanced if it were to happen). As for the lynch, I'm not dead set on Magenta as the best option. I'm going to hold off on a vote for now while I review and take a few more notes. In the meantime, here's a bit of RP: Liseran walked confidently through the halls of the Pride of Terris. Light purple strips of cloth wound around her hands and up her arms to her elbows. A similar piece of cloth wrapped around her waist. It helped disguise the slight bulge at her hips, the gun she'd acquired before their departure. Let people say what they would about this world, she enjoyed their technology. Liseran watched the people she passed. Even if she couldn't feel it, she would be able to tell most were in a state of languid despair. Their eyes betrayed them. The death of their captain, brutal as it was, had taken a toll on the people. A lack of leadership was not the concern, for someone would always step up. It was the uncertainty of knowing who was friend and who was foe. It was the fear of the dark corners where an unsuspecting victim could easily fall to an even darker threat. It was the fear in their eyes that betrayed they would be willing to kill anyone in order to survive. Liabilities. That is what each of them were in the end. Liabilities that could get in the way of what she was hunting. But they were liabilities she would try to protect, as always. That was a promise she had made when she had become who she was.
  21. I see Ivory Dragonfly has posted, so as promised, I'm removing my vote. I haven't had time yet to read through all of the posts (just woke up), but I will and will place another vote before turnover.
  22. I'm with Magenta on this one. We will likely only learn a bit more about alignment options with the kill, as there are usually very few clues about actual alignment this early. Because of that, I'll also place a vote on Ivory Dragonfly until they post. If they post, I'll reevaluate and see if there might be a better candidate.
  23. I could honestly go either way with a D1 lynch. But I do agree that someone eventually has to get lynched, so why not on D1. It might give us clues about what alignment options are out there, no matter who we get.
  24. Well that's unfortunate... Seeing as my own animal is my least favorite.
