  1. The survey was very disappointed that the journey was over. "She could have done all of those things to trick you," pointed out the Wanderer.
  2. Sort of yes but not really. It's a complicated topic. Anyways, calling on the Authors is essentially Deus Ex Machina, which would not make for an interesting story device in this case. "But Sequence died," the Wanderer pointed out. "She's a withergeist now."
  3. "If they appeared to switch sides they were probably deceiving you. A withergeist would never fight for the side of Light. Unless... well, the bottom line is it was probably a deception. I wouldn't count on it." The survey inserted a quick friendly reminder that talking about Authors was dangerous for continuity and should be kept to a minimum.
  4. "Wait," said the Wanderer. "That's impossible."
  5. I would not call the Lunar Chronicles "fluffy".
  6. "I felt pain before," said the Witherlord. "A long time ago..."
  7. The last of the corruption was burned away.
  8. Oh, it's awesome so far! I'm learning so many new cool things! How are you enjoying it?
  9. "Do you feel it?" repeated the Witherlord a third time. "Pain?"
  10. "I will try," resolved Professor Jones. "If anything goes wrong, though... get out." With that, she began to channel her Silent lightning into Nameless's wound, erasing it from existence.
  11. Professor Jones eyed Nameless with a frown. "It would take a lot of energy to nullify that much corruption... perhaps more than I have."
  12. Well, you don't know everything about him. "All right."
  13. "Do you feel it?" Asked the Witherlord. No godmod the Witherlord pls.
  14. "Yes. But like I said earlier, they've suffered enough."
  15. The Witherlord did not wonder that. "My colleagues might. If the Witherlord is moving once again... well." "No. The being known as 'Withy' was someone else before they merged with the ancient spirit of the Witherlord." She paused. "In fact, they were the person you recalled to me- the one who was healed of being a withergeist."
  16. I missed that part. What are you talking about? "No. It was taken beyond this realm. As was the hero who could wield it." "The Witherlord is an ancient spirit of pure malevolence. It has no sentience on its own- it must bond with another." "Mm. It has found a new host, then?"
  17. The professor frowned. "Withy? As in, the Witherlord?"
  18. "Well, you are very welcome," replied the professor. "Is there anything else you need help with?"
  19. Professor Jones raised her hand and blocked the force from knocking her backward. "I see the surgery worked," she commented.
  20. It was a flower growing. The lightning felt like the breath of the void.
  21. Lightning of inverted ruby shot from the professors fingertips, utterly annihilating the poisoned flesh.
  22. The professor closed her eyes and began to breathe in a steady rhythm. The room fell silent. You may want to stand back, she advised.
