Ilvaite felt a sense of peace fill her. The darkness fell away, light and sound returning. "Yes," she said, relaxing. "Thank you." -

"Please. Anything."

"No," Ilvaite replied, beginning to tremble. "No, my eyes are open."

"Why is it dark, then?"

"I... I just want it to not be dark anymore," repeated Ilvaite dully.

Ilvaite covered her ears, shrinking back into herself, her breathing quick and unsteady. "Stop," she whispered, almost weeping. "Stop stop stop stop stop!"

Ilvaite flinched away from the noise. She began to tremble, her eyes widening. "W-who are you?" she stammered.

Ilvaite knelt in the darkness, straining to hear the faint voice that seemed to be coming from very far off. Was it getting closer?

The ghost turned her head around, seeming to search the room with blank eyes. "It's so dark," she whispered. "Whisper... are you real?" The ghost did not seem to register Vacity's presence at all.

"Hello?" the ghost cried out, her voice confused and lost. "Is anyone there?"

"Speaking of legends," Anikel said, "what about these 'gods of the forest' you mentioned before?"
