  1. Yes but they all follow a common theme. And how are any of these examples personal enough to make ideals out of, and I can't see how the standing up for Kal is explicitly listening/remembering (Kal wasn't dead, nor was he being ignored specifically - in fact he was imprisoned precisely because people took notice of what he said), I can see, however, how it can be taken as an example of stubbornness. He tries to, which is the point I was making. Examples being? :/ What about the points in favour of Stoneward that you didn't address?
  2. edited for safety, thanks
  3. This is the argument that Adolin makes a much better Stoneward than Edgedancer, and that it's possible he might actually become one. There's a lot of stuff to get through here, so I'll try to be concise. And yes, this theory addresses the fact that Adolin is already sort of bonded to Maya. I've already posted this idea on tumblr and reddit (with mixed reactions) and am now posting it here with some new arguments and evidence I've thought of since. Why not Edgedancer? Why Stoneward? How could this even happen? Seeing as Adolin is already bonded to Maya, a cultivationspren? Why would this even happen? Why would Brandon or any of the characters in the book want this to happen? That's it. Please tell me what you think.
  4. So, I can't think of any evidence for Elhokar being a spren now. We do see a crypticspren hanging around where he died, but it seems much more likely that this spren is the one he would have bonded to as a knight radiant. Eshonai I can't see as a spren either, or maybe I just don't want to, mainly because I want her to be a knight radiant willshaper in her own right, rather that just being Venli's spren.
  5. Ok something I would like to know: are you and the other ookla the same person? why do you have a similar username?
  6. Yeah him looking into the cognitive realm seems very likely now that you mention it. The text itself goes: "Skybreaker, Dalinar thought, counting them off. Edgedancer. That made seven. He would have expected three more. .... Those two only make nine, he thought to the Stormfather. Something told him that there should be one more."
  7. Hi i'm new here, mostly here to discuss the stormlight archive, I would be nice to know if there's any particular etiquette for making posts and stuff I should be aware of? this is only really the second forum i've ever joined. Also I relate to Renarin Kholin an embarrassing amount.
  8. He was pretty hyped up on stormlight at the time. It's very possible that having a certain amount of investiture automatically gives you the ability to see how others are invested/what their powers are (there are loads of examples across many cosmere books that sort of imply this), and being a bondsmith probably doesn't hurt either. Maybe a better question is why he expected a member from each other order to be standing behind him? Makes me think they'll eventually have a stoneward, dustbringer, and willshaper who each aren't evil or supposedly dead at the bottom of a canyon.
