Thank you all for helping me mull through this topic. I'm a little more sturdy in my belief that Amaram set someone up to either A. Die, or B. Feign Death in a real bout for shards.. The shards he stole from Kaladin. Either way, I'm also convinced that Amaram is too public, and open to have done anything but stage a bout in front of a lot of witnesses to corroborate his accounts of winning his shard blade and plate fair and square from either felling a foe, or from a bout over honor. Though specifics would be nice to hear about in the *hopefully up and coming trial of Amaram.*

When you say Graphic Audio, what do you mean? Who is reading it? Who sponsors it? Where do you get it? I listen to all Brandon Sanderson on Audible, just curious if the "Unabridged" means that it's different from Graphic Audio version. I would assume if mine says unabridged and yours says "Graphic Audio", they just might have a few differences.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Knghtstlker replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you call your child a "Little Voidbringer". Or stub your toe and internal monologue says "Storms that hurt". -
I don't know if it was mentioned. But I tend to think that the KR Radiate Stormlight, the Plate acts as a Buffer zone. Absorbing the Light that the KR Radiated. Thus, powering the plate. Which is why they require gemstones to work now. Many times it's mentioned that Shardplate is basically unchinked Just tiny little plates to interlock on the larger ones. There is no "Weak spot", The KR didn't need Gemstones to power the stormlight, the Armor itself is a Ziplock Baggy to "Seal in the Flavor". It just happens to absorb all stormlight leaking out of the KR, As stated in Adolin's Disadvantaged fight. Kaladin not only ran out of stormlight, but healed the Shardplate. KR are the gemstones.

I always believed "Due to some convenient wording", that DeadSpren blades were living Spren that once were bonded, now "Dead" living in Shadesmar. When summoned they would have no recollection of why and how they have been forced into the physical realm "Why they scream, They've been Kidnapped!". But I do think that it is an endothermic process as has been stated. Rapidly displacing air, the process of summoning causes an Oscillation of air particles as they are rapidly displaced. I'm no master Scientist, and I don't know what principles to base that assumption on. It's just what I think happens. I think the spren are terrified of a sudden existence then are returned to "Peace" forgetting it all. I wonder if there is a community of former "ShardSpren", that exist solely in an inner-community of Shadesmar that receive support, or are even cast out, since they basically spend quite a bit of time "In some cases" being used to kill things. But what about the phenomena of the Windrunner glyph that appeared to my knowledge twice in WoR? Anyone remember those parts? Once was when Kal said the 3rd Oath, It crystallized behind him when his body was absorbing Stormlight I got the impression he was practically crystallized himself from the massive absorption and use of Investiture, then again, when he landed on the shattered plains a few minutes later after Lashing Dalinar back to the ground softly. When he landed a Glyph of stormlight puffed out "If I remember correctly".

Stormlight Healing and Suspension of Disbelief
Knghtstlker replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
I only speak about spoilers because I see a bunch of chapters for Oathbringer on the main page, and I don't want someone bringing in anything from those chapters. I was not talking about OP or anyone that brought up anything here. -
You're right. I wonder how he managed that.

Stormlight Healing and Suspension of Disbelief
Knghtstlker replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
Eh, in this case I think you're off to the left a bit. The more Stormlight he can hold the easier it would be to heal. Just as it would be easier to quench your thirst with three skins of water instead of one, One would certainly help. Two, you could down the first one quickly, then take a couple of big gulps out of the 2nd, but still have plenty left. Three, and you could tie the third to your belt to save for later consumption. It's mentioned several times that the more Oaths the better the vessel, so, even when exposed to the Highstorm. The Sphere was glowing but he didn't pull them in. by his third set of oaths, He could ride the storm wall, or traverse the storm itself. Oaths have a direct reflection on abilities. -
It makes the most sense, just wonder how he got sooo many corroborators. He would either have to stage winning the shardblade, or he would have to go with a strike team of men he trusts to the grave, though it makes the most sense. Even I was wondering why he would still use the blade he took from Kaladin over one he won from someone else, unless there were some bonding mechanics that I wasn't aware of.

I know that, but how did he get so many people to corroborate his BS lie? That's what I'm getting at. We all know about the tuft of red hair, and that Shallan recognized the blade, that wasn't the question. The question was, did he stage a bout with another Shardbearer under controlled conditions? Or did he really kill another Shardbearer to make it a matter of public record? I recall him having an asston of corroborates.

Stormlight Healing and Suspension of Disbelief
Knghtstlker replied to Stormrunner1730's topic in Stormlight Archive
He healed much faster by the end of the WoR due to his 3rd Oath? I know this happened prior. but I believe he wasn't restricted on Stormlight Consumption in that fight, I vaguely remember a line of something along the lines of "It was a Bright Day so Kaladin sucked in as much stormlight as he dared". Which means he was probably teaming with it. He probably had way more stormlight in him at the time he snapped his legs on *Insert name here*'s back, than when he healed his Sharddead arm. Right? He had leftover Spheres that he stole light from that Szeth had on him, He had Szeth's reserves, and even though Kaladin is more efficient with Stormlight, I bet it takes MORE to heal Sharddead Limbs than broken bones right? I got the impression he bought Adolin a few minutes with that maneuver, Dazed both himself and the attacker. Deus Ex Machina: The healing I think is somewhat of a it is whatever it needs to be whenever it needs to be there, but! I think it will be more consistent and better framed in the future, now that Kaladin has a pretty good sense of what it can accomplish. Lets Keep in mind where we left Lopen at the end of WoR, I have not read any Spoiler Chapters. Please keep it that way. Thoughts? -
So we all remember what happened to Shallan's brother Helleran *Spelling*, Which is when Kal killed him, Amaram took the blade and plate, He surely would not give the plate to someone unfitting, but as I recall he already had plate. However, in WoR, it was accounted that he had earned his Shardblade only a few months before instead of when he really took it from Kal. but that means that a bunch of his soldiers were present to corroborate the winning of the shard blade? Unless he said something like, Uhhh he won it In battle, at night, last night, you weren't there, but it happened. Amaram is too smart for that, He wanted the winning of his shard blade to be a matter of uncontested history. Plenty of witnesses around. So here lies the big question. Who did Amaram fell, to feign winning a shard blade? He's probably an accomplished warrior to have shard plate anyways, One who claims to have such a clean honor would have surely had to defend it at a few points in time. Here's the conspiracy, we know in WoR that Amaram's trying to scoop up that extra blade, but what if he didn't Feign killing someone for the other blade, what if he actually just was skilled enough to take another shardbearer down. I don't know if we've ever covered the issue if you can bond two shard blades at once. I for one think you could, I don't know if the bonding process has ever been discussed at great detail, whether a Dead Spren blade wielder could summon his shardblade in either hand, or if they have to hold the shard blade *As I think was stated*, as often as possible to "Train" the DeadSpren to which hand and what position to form to. Thoughts?

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Knghtstlker replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Specific books aren't allowed digitally, I purchased Warbreaker on the same card, but was not allowed to purchase Elantris. "I think it's been a month or so", I can't quote book titles with 100% accuracy, but I'm fairly certain I had trouble getting Elantris. I got it. Just had to change back to my Bank card for it. -

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

I want to play a game called "Name That Reference!". I'm constantly surrounded by Teenagers, No offense to the teenagers of the crowd here. I'm a Sgt. I'm 30 years old, and Sometimes I say and do things that make them confused as all hell. It makes me insane because technically They and I are of the same "Generation". Someone said something and it made me think of the old chant from a funny as show "I'm a man. But I can change. If I have to. I guess." I say it to my wife all the time, she chuckles with me. I just need someone to share a chuckle with, because I've quickly found I cant entertain a teenager with more than 6 seconds thanks to vine, so even watching youtube clips upwards of 45 seconds makes them distracted and easy to scatter. -

I was able to purchase the books on Audible, I just had to swap to an American Card, not a prepaid Iraqi one. "Even though they're only for use in the US". And they sell them in the PX, for some reason they are geo tagged to Iraq so the Zip code is Iraqi, and the numbers are US, so I can't use it on anything region specific, like youknow, books on amazon that aren't the Quran. HAHA. I think it was Elantris, I imagine because often times Brandon Sanderson books include at least two new religions in his books. That's not something Iraqi's are very fond of I think. 100% less Carcinogenic. There is no Cancer causing products at all, Even California can only label it was a pregnancy warning because it has Nicotene. If you've ever been to an Asian grill restaurant, the stuff they use to "Fry" meat on the big flat hot piece of Metal, is 70% of what vape juice is made of (VG). The other 30% is a flavor suspension fluid that has been proven to be "Safe for human consumtion" by the CDC for the last 40 years minimum called Propylene Glycol (PG), With whatever concentration by % of Nicotene you prefer "Which in the state of California says nicotine can have a possibility of causing birth defects in pregnant women,". But zero cancerous risk. It's staggering when you look at what you vape compared to what you smoke in a cigarette.. No wonder my lungs feel amazing now. I can vape like a steam engine and still feel better than smoking one single cigarette. The only associated health risks that fall outside of faulty mechanical devices with poor battery safety, is a very, very, very small percentage of vapers have been associated with something called "Popcorn Lung". Associated with the name popcorn lung because the factory workers that handle bulk butter flavored products "Consumer Popcorn companies", have had a very small number of people develop something called Bronchiolitis Obliterans, It has tenuously been attached to vaping communities. However, if you can match working in a Butter Based Propylene Glycol saturated environment for 40+ Hours a week for 10+ Years "This isn't something that happens over night", Maybe you were hitting the stuff a little hard. However, that connection is tenuous at best. So as long as you practice battery safety, my health risks will drop continuously every day I'm not smoking for the rest of my life.. Thank god for Vaping. I was hesitant when it came out upwards of 10 years ago, I wanted to make sure that there would be no staggeringly terrible results worse than smoking. I waited, did my research and have arrived at the conclusion, that I'm never smoking again. -

Hugs were offered. I like hugs, Also Iraq is terrible. Pretty hefty sand storm came through last night, Also I stubbed my toe walking to my shower. The coils I built for my Vape "I quit smoking two months ago", have too low of a resistance but they're the best hitting coils I've ever built "When they get warmed up". Just imagine I've been filling my Chromium Metal Mind for this entire deployment, and I stored too much of it, so I lost my Chromium Metal mind before I could tap it... -
I like the scarf doctor too.. Though I'm not as pretentious as Kobold, Dr. Who is fun. Oh yeah, INTP-A for me.

No, American soldier currently deployed. Side note, when I tried to use a prepaid card here in Iraq on Amazon I could not purchase some Brandon Sanderson novels on Audible because it "wasn't available in this country". -
Kneel before my massive Reputation! I cannot be surpassed. For I am Noble blooded and depending on what world I'm from means vastly different things. Hopefully Kelsier isn't near currently.

Vin's Earring and Nightblood's Sheath
Knghtstlker replied to pharaoh9000's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yeah I realize she would not have had a Reserve or anything, But just as she used "Luck" she would have had the abilities to use other abilities as sparingly as she used that, Unkowingly burning the Pewter off of platewear or cups.Things like that, nothing too obvious, nothing very strong, but she was able to influence people without swallowing a vial of metals. Just what she naturally collected and always took a while to recharge.- 59 replies

Vin's Earring and Nightblood's Sheath
Knghtstlker replied to pharaoh9000's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A valid point, Allomancy was a mystical trait that not many Skaa knew a whole lot about. However. There were in fact Soothing houses all over her neighborhoods, Hidden by copper clouds... She and likely all Skaa passed soothing houses multiple times daily. So she was practically always inside a Soothers Influence, if she was inherently burning metals, she would have not had much of anything at all to burn true, but these metals are all found in small enough amounts to digest in a diet. Though it is unlikely she would have "Burned", all of the Sneaking through the harsh cities alleys she would have been concentrating on being quiet and listening for passerby's. I think at one point or another she would have heard alien thumping noises unknown to her or something. Obviously, We're digging much deeper than Sanderson probably intended. We're chasing our tails here. Just mentioning the fact that Skaa were almost always surrounded by Allomancers.- 59 replies

Vin's Earring and Nightblood's Sheath
Knghtstlker replied to pharaoh9000's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yes, but that opens up a whole new can of worms. One I think has been addressed here on the thread, of who would have both known that the earring in Vin's ear was a Hemalurgical spike, and who would help cover up something like that by having it poorly silver plated to have enough of it worn away to come of use Exactly when the WoA began to gain power.. She never mentioned anything beyond using her "Luck", and being a little heartier than people would have thought, She never mentioned hearing things "Allomantic pulses" in her youth, which means the silver was coated in a way that 15 years "Ish" of mostly being locked in a box according to Vin had somehow eroded the silver plating. Your theory sounds more mysterious and kniving, but also means that someone would have had a HUGE Impact on Vin's life in the first few years and then ignored her the rest of her life. Ruin's Lackey? Maybe she threw the earring away instead of keeping it? What if she lost the earring? I don't think the size or the amount of Bronze is at particularly as important as you may think, She had to focus very hard to pierce copper clouds it was something she had to focus harder for each time. She never "Accidentally" pierced copper clouds, When she had her bronze on she always had to "Try" to pierce them. So maybe the bronze that was exposed just wasn't that much, enough for a Hemalurgical charge to steal the Seeking ability, It was put in fresh after it's charge. It was enough, it just wasn't much.- 59 replies
