I was focusing on only guild related stuff, so if you want to do power level reform quotes while you're at it, that'd be fantastic. But tell me if it's too much work and I'll help.

Yes

Okay. Can you make that thread for us? I'll feature it, but I want to start collecting quotes from the Chat Thread related to reform so people have something to go on.

Hi all. This is a big topic (hence why it's been featured). We've been discussing reforms in the Chat Thread, but we've come to the point where we have a few big ideas that need to be condensed into reform proposals, so this thread's been made. So, anyone got any clear suggestions for guild reform they'd like to share? I intend to edit this post with suggestions from the Chat Thread that have already been put forward. That'll take me a bit, so bear with me. Goal: To agree on ways to reform how guilds function, to improve everyone’s RP experience. Background: Currently, anyone who wishes to make a guild may do so. Most choose to create a thread for their guild, which serves as a recruitment area and RP zone for their base. They often create PMs for members, or discord servers, where they have out of character discussions about the RP and their goals. There are no restrictions on the amount of guilds you can be in. There is no requirement that one’s characters have to be in the same guild as they are, or in any guild at all. The Discussion So Far: (This is a summary of what was said in the Chat Thread on the subject.) Plans: - Guilds should have goals in mind that create plot. There should be fewer individual goals and more group goals. - Guilds should be more open in their planning (take it out of PMs). Try for realism? (eg. Come up with reasonable ways for characters to have coordinated plans) Double-dipping: People being in multiple guilds lessens inter-guild conflict. - One guild per person. - Make it so you must be in a guild. - Characters should be in the same guild as their creators. (Archer could make it a part of character bios) Activity: - Guilds should be more actively involved in the RP Threads: - Make guild threads more like the DA’s (well worldbuilt, mostly just DA members posting, more RP) Size: - More, smaller guilds (to create more conflict)

Okay. I'll make a guild reform topic. That seems like it'll lead to a lengthy discussion. The other big one is going to be power reduction. We could probably get away with just discussing that here, then once we have those two nailed down, moving to the other topics. But if you feel we should make another thread for that, I'd support that too.

What if we just focus on one at a time? We could start with guild reform, finish that, then move on to the next one, keeping it all in this thread. But multiple threads would work too.

I think the best plan of attack is to split the reform into subtopics, then come up with proposals for each that we can debate and vote on if necessary. Setting aside stuff that’s in-game/short term (E2 ending etc), here’s what we’ve covered that we need to come up with proposals for. Summarization: No one has objected to this, but if we decide to vote on this next time we restart the poll, I’d recommend asking people this: Non-Sanderson Stuff: The sci-fi poll is at a 12-12 tie right now. That's inconvenient. Sci-fi is part of, in my opinion, the broader question of the inclusion of non Sanderson elements in E3. I'd like a decision on that. This is the question I'd recommend asking: These next ones I don't have a proposal prepared for. What needs to happen is people take one and come up with a suggestion for a policy we can put in the rules thread. So if you've got some time and want to suggest a code for one of these (or another topic you want to address). Brainstorming is allowed. As is looking back at the conversation that's happened since page 13. I'll try and put something together for stuff no one volunteers to do, but I'll leave this here for now. Guild Reform: Increased public involvement and connection of characters and guilds. Power Reduction/Consistency: Reduction of resources and armies available to characters Reduction of character's powers/removal of OP characters. Being realistic. PvP Combat: Reduction. Better Planning: Actually planning stuff. With other people. *shivers*

So, is it just a coincidence that the acronym for Meeker Adoption Center is 'Mac'? (This will be more dramatic if someone gasps at that revelation) -

Yes you may! -
I like this idea. I'd best stop typing posts on my phone then. I wouldn't want this to effect me. Yes, that was intentional.

I've struck through character's names if I have them on record as being dead. I apologize in advance, my system relies on self-reporting, so I've probably missed a few deaths (especially in Era 1).

No problem! Okay. Added. Just remind me to change your name on the list after ookla season ends.

Fixed. Klo stumbled to a stop beside Nogard, leaning against a tree as he caught his breath.

"No problem. That's what we're here for," Mace told Fae, seemingly back to his normal stuff again. In the distance, he heard Zaphoid tell them they'd passed. That pleased him. "C'mon. Let's get you out of the next guy's way," he continued, putting his arm by her back to help her move. She still looked rough, and he didn't want her to fall. Thank you, he mouthed to Tena, then shot her a wink. -
White-tinged raindrops rolled down the face of the rock Klo had been seated beside. He watched them for a moment, then stood and followed the others. As he scrambled across the mud, he was startled by a the distant roar of an animal. It made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. As he shuffled, head down and frantic, he smacked his arm against a low lying branch. When he looked at it to check the damage, he was disturbed to find that it he could see right through it. Not because of a hole, no, it was as if the arm wasn't even there. It had turned completely invisible. Thankfully everyone's gotten the one-armed jokes out of their system already, Klo thought as he pressed onward. He would need to figure out what was going on, but first he needed somewhere dry to hide in.

Yes, it's a fabulous idea. The Liebrary should spend lots and lots of time promoting reading. So much time that they forget to free Voidus. Go books!

I can't decide if Klo is going to love Xena or treat her like an older sister who brought baby photos of him to his party.

But what is crime? Is your interpretation based on real world laws? Or the word of our mayor, TFA? Or an arbitrary decision on a case by case basis? There is no Alleycity law, or concensus on what governing bodies are recognized. And what if the law conflicts with your morals? If the governing body of the DA required all within their borders to be spiked, would you help them do it? You're welcome to RP a character enforcing their code of conduct. That's no different from, for example, me fighting the SDW to stop Chaos Marines from attacking people. But be prepared to have people question their authority, because they're enforcing rules that people haven't agreed to abide by. How would you feel if Kidpen created an army of 10000 liebrarians and went around forcing people to read books? Stopping people mid quest, overwhelming them with an unbeatable army of liebrarians (both in numbers and weaponry), and threatening to kill them if they didn't read a book. Now what if everyone made an army to impose their will on others. They could excuse it by saying it was for the greater good (reading is good!) but it would still be OP. Will the Precursors ever impose their will on player characters? And how can you justify having an army? I need these concerns to be addressed before I can support this idea. I think you have a fun idea, and it makes sense in your head, but to ensure fairness, I need explicit guarantees and explanations to alleviate my fears about what could go wrong.

It's because his name sounds Korathi. Let guys like that in and before you know it you're dropping hyphens everywhere and capitalizing random letters mid-word. Is that what you want us to become? Is it? -
*hides pineapple catapult behind my back* Now why would you want to do a thing like that?

Mace had been watching Fae's run with interest. As such, he watched her fall. Keeping his eyes fixed on where he had last seen her, he got to his feet and rushed towards the spot. As he followed the sound of her voice, he unclipped one of his goldminds. If her fall had been anything like his had been, she was going to need it. Ducking behind a supporting pillar, he came across her and Tena. The sight distressed, but didn't disturb him. He'd seen injuries before. Thankfully, her wounds didn't look fatal. Mace crouched next to her, and began speaking in a firm voice. "Ma'am, I'm here to help. I'm going to stay with you until we get this sorted out, okay? Take this, and..." He trailed off, staring at the goldmind in his hand. That's wrong, came a thought. What are you doing? Mace sat down next to Fae, intently focused on the metal in his hands. It wouldn't work. It's sealed. And I don't know how to unseal them. The splint would dissolve. She can't store pain. What was I thinking? Mace began having an out of body experience. He could hear his voice begin his mantra again, but he wasn't consciously directing it. "You're in good hands. We have access to the best facilities..." I can't save them. Anyone. Never could. "If you focus on my voice, it's easier to cope. Don't move. We need you to be still..." Why am I here? They're all gone. All the brave ones. "Everything will be okay. Help has arrived. Just stay with us..." Came through the jaws of death. Why? Back from the mouth of hell. "All that was left of them, left of six hundred." -
Klo waved to Damaya in greeting. His arm briefly disappeared when he did so, but he poked it and it became visible again. He raised his eyebrow and pointed a branch in the direction of the flock of monsters circling above them. As if to prove his point, a small shadowbird descended from the heavens and stole his pointing stick. Klo dove to the ground. He quickly jotted some notes next to his research list. As he did so, he motioned to the rocks around them, indicating Damaya was welcome to join them. But, as he expressively mimed, she should keep her head down, or an angry bird would scratch her eye holes and she'd die a slow and painful death while the assembled adventurers mourned her passing.

Klo cowered under the overhang of a half-buried boulder. There were other people around him now, bleeding, shouting, fighting. He wanted to help them, but it seemed hitting at the birds with swords was just slowing them down. They needed a better tactic. I know squat about these things, he thought. It’s time I did some research. Klo took a piece of chalk from his pocket and proceeded to write a list on the side of the rock he was behind. At times the chalk seemed to be floating in the air, but Klo ignored it. Noise Smell Sight: Shape, movement, colour Ecolocation Magic He crossed the first one out. He’d been quiet and they’d still homed in on him. So the sense they most relied on to hunt with probably wasn’t that. Time to do some experimentation. But I need help. He tapped on the list, trying to draw his companion’s attention to it. Then he reached behind him to grab some branches off a low-lying bush. He poked them into his clothes, making a mediocre makeshift camouflage suit. Please don’t kill me please don’t kill me please don’t kill me, he projected as he moved to the edge of their DIY bunker to see if any birds would attack him.
