  1. That's very very very sad. Does anyone know if he is planning on releasing the production rights to another company?
  2. This thread was from over a year ago. Any updates?
  3. Looking awesome so far. It would be nice to chose characters at the start; Nobles, Skaa, Kandra (unlocked later), etc. I feel like a big game company could make a huge profit off a game like this, and with VR the possibilities are endless! •It would be interesting to see what Brandon thinks of your project. •Would also be interesting for players to be only mistings and not full mistborn with some being more rare than others. (Although I like the idea of playing as mistborn better) For example: •Copper/bronze: NPC characters. •Steel/Iron: 5% chance For each metal. Tin/Pewter: 10% chance for each metal. •Zinc/Brass: 10% chance each •Bendalloy: 5% chance •Cadmium: 15% Chance •Chromium/Nicrosil:10% each •Gold/atium 5% chance each The other metals are useless. I think it's better to use a full mistborn property, but in the wax and Wayne era this would be perfect especially including twin born.
  4. I feel like it's similar to storing memories, ex: you store a memory to tap them a tank a later date. So you could store connection of the land around you, and able to tap that at a later date. I think. Also in this topic of the thread, I think I would like to be a pewter allomancer/ zinc feruchemist
  5. This one is from memory. Not exactly a Wayne quote but it's about Wayne. Now ever since reading that I can picture Wayne sitting in a chair reading a book, thinkin' nobody is looking reading all the dialogue between out loud in different voices
  6. Good point... I wonder if it somehow works similar to how every person has the ability to burn lerasium, maybe every person has the feuruchemical ability to access the metal that is involved in investute. Nicrosil
  7. Ok, you are probably right and I'm sure you have much more knowledge than me with this type of stuff. But how did Wax use the mythical bracers of TLR if he isn't a feruchemist. The only thing that explains this is the bracers were removed of identity so that anybody could use it. Feruchemist or not. I thought that was explained in the book.
  8. Each God Metal can create an alloy for every other metal. Ex: Malatium. A twisted version of gold allowing you to see what not you yourself, but someone else could have become. 15 more Metals. What could happen mixing atium with each? Bronze/Atium Copper/Atium Zinc/Atium Brass/Atium Tin/Atium Pewter/Atium Steel/Atium Iron/Atium Duralumin/Atium -Maybe similar to burning Duralumin and Atium at once. I believe Kelsier did this and was able to see the future in SH. Nicrosil/Atium Aluminum/Atium Chromium/Atium Electrum/Atium Gold/Atium -Malatium <explained above> Bendalloy/Atium Cadmium/Atium EDIT: Lerasium/Atium (The ability to give allomantic abilities to others? That's why harmony could make spook a mistborn)
  9. Ok in Wax and Wayne: But in the original series: *Major spoiler* Am I missing something? Or is this just a plot hole?
  10. They use aluminum feruchemy to take away their identity from the metalmind. When the metalmind has no identity. Anyone can tap it. ***One thing about feruchemy is that anyone can tap a metal mind, but you need a feuruchemist to fill them. (I think) So now we have an identity free metal mind that anyone can tap. Now this is where they use the other metals: 1. Nicrosil stores investiture like @Calderis said. Investiture is magic, in simple terms. When Using a nicrosil bracer, feruchemists can store the ability to become a feruchemist/ferring or allomancer. While they use the stored identity they have the ability of an allomancer of feruchemist for a short time until it runs out. 2. Another example from BOM is the brass/aluminum medallions. Tapping Aluminum to remove connection and tapping brass to store warmth. Since there is no identity this means anyone can TAP it, so even a non-feruchemist can use this. But they can't fill it. 3. Third example I can think of. Duralumin stores connection, same as brass. Anyone can use it, giving the person a connection to the land. (A connection to the natural investiture of that land?) Please correct me if I'm wrong
  11. Is Arcanum Unbounded, it states that there are 3 distinct empires on Sel, mostly unaware of each other. We know about the empires taking place in Elantris. (The Fjordell obviously know about the main characters and Elantris, so that can't be 2 out of the 3). And we know about the emperors soul kingdom. So what's the third kingdom and is there already a book taking place there?
  12. I tried my very best not to skip straight to the Rand chapters.
  13. Holy hell man. I was looking for for a WOT spoiler because I've read all of those. Hitting me straight away with syl dead... well at least there's still gonna be 3 more books after #2
  14. I agree, thanks @Weltall that made a lot of sense what he said about the "extra baggage" although if calamity was a shard that would actually be pretty awesome. We never really find out where it came from.
  15. Oh ok, I'm almost done the WOK but I've read mistborn and elantris so I probably haven't gotten to info about Yolen yet. Yeah I thought so. I didn't know rithmatist was part of the cosmere either, good to know. Speaking of which, is there a reason - other than to keep it purely fictional - that he doesn't want earth to be a part of this?
  16. Ok before I get started with a small theory, I believe Brandon stated somewhere that Earth was not part of the cosmere. But this is just theorizing so let's see what we can come up with . So, I was thinking. Humans had to come from somewhere in the cosmere. (Ati, Rayse, Lerasi, and all the rest were humans before they took up the shards I believe) Now, what if earth was the first planet with human life where all of them came from. (A possible reason most of the planets have the same animals and vegetation found on earth, horses being the main example but also the fruits etc. Like strawberries from Shinovar) So, what if we became a class III civilization according to the Kardashev scale and there's a few possible theories that could come from this. 1. They discovered something "Adonalsium" 2. They became powerful enough to alter physics or even their biology creating the ability to tamper with heaven (the spiritual and cognitive realms). (This is a fictional series so thIs could be possible). Continuing with my theory... A cataclysm or some sort of war happened and the many nations of earth splintered. Now like I said this could be a class 3, super advanced civilization, their leaders could have immense power enough to create worlds. I don't have much explanation from all the worlds starting from scratch without their electronics. But it does explain things like: *SPOILER for Mistborn series* Anyways that's just a theory. What do you guys think? Personally I think earth isn't part of the cosmere, but If Brandon was going to pull an amazing twist this seems like something he would do.
  17. if it doesn't have to be cosmere, I would like to see Rand al'thor vs someone... maybe TLR
  18. Now that you two explain it like that it makes a ton of sense, thanks guys. On another thought, what's the most technologically developed planet in the cosmere?
  19. What's is that by the way? And I read something about not discussing he details of it on the forums... Is there a specific reason for that?
  20. Thanks! It's hard to pick, there's so many amazing characters and stories. I would have to say though, Kaladin and Kelsier are along my top few. Although Wax, Wayne, Vin, Shallan and TenSoon follow close behind. Im really enjoying WOK, when I started I expected something similar to The Wheel Of Time, but I found something unique in its own way. I'm at the part where Sadeas is about to reveal something so NO SPOILERS
  21. Just a question I couldn't think of the answer for while reading. Sorry if this has been posted but I couldn't find an answer. The closest thing I could think of is that he didn't want anyone to challenge him or a ska uprising. But that didn't make much sense because he was basically a god in a way. Anyone want to help explain?
  22. Hi everyone! Just made an account and excited to start foruming. A while ago, when "A Memory Of Light" was released, I read the whole wheel of time series (which was an awesome series), anyways I didn't realize about Brandon Sanderson until quite a while later when I started reading "The Reckoners" series. From there, I started looking for more books by Sanderson. Ive read: -Elantris, The emperors soul -Every mistborn/wax and Wayne book including SH, and The eleventh metal. Haven't got around to Allomancer Jac yet. -Almost done Way Of Kings. I have the Arcanum Unbound book, ready to finish that off. Looking forward to theories, questions and more!
