  4. Another possibility is that the distinct resonance frequency of each person and living thing is part of the learning curve. Each frequency subtly vibrates each person when they open themselves up to it. Experience would allow you to detect the exact location of the via minute changes and other such things.
  5. I don't understand what happened as far as the PDF as I had no problem. The doc had an issue though not what you think. I thank you for pointing it out to me! See above where some of what I'm going for is fleshed out.
  6. Good! I picked you out of a desire to reach a wide and differing audience to that end a lover of D&D would have a unique perspective on the story. EDIT: @The Young Pyromancer feel free to vote in this thread's new poll.
  7. *Runs in and wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
  8. Interesting.
  9. Before unpacking as I do a few comments: 1st I'm glad that this is working for you!! To that end more will come and as a result:Follow the thread. The grammar has been dealt with, but as always I appreciate the mention as there is is always work to be done! Now to unpack: Really you think the detail is overdone? Truthfully you are off on the why. @DrakeMarshmallow was closer to the truth as far as this matter is concerned. It might work for you to know that this is the prologue of something massive. 1st points for pointing out the reason for the name. I was waiting for someone to go there. I'm glad that you think that the bargain and diatribe worked! As far as the name it's needed for the reason that the description is. See my responses to @DrakeMarshmallow and @Ethan_Sedai. EDIT: @The Sovereign feel free to vote in this thread's new poll.
  10. When does a partridge move into the pear tree? If A squared plus B squared equals C squared then what do you get when you add the sixth of dusk squared plus 10 heralds squared? How many heralds does it take to screw in a light bulb?
  11. The clarification was enlightening.
  12. @Ethan_SedaiSo that explains the funky energy that appears when I wave my hand around.
  13. 1st thank you for your kind words. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. To unpack: The dialogue has far reaching implications so if it is confusing it should be. The description is important if only for the desired effect. This seems somehow oddly metaphysical. This made my day because you are close to what I'm going for. As far as the lady my use of names shades it a bit though it does not tell the whole story. It seems most likely that this is due to an unreliable narrator. Although I won't entirely rule out something weirder than that. *Grins.* Follow the thread if you are interested in seeing more as more will come!! EDIT: @DrakeMarshmallow feel free to vote in this thread's new poll.

  16. I'm glad that the mystery is effective as that is part of the aesthetic that I'm going for. Now to unpack the rest. Syntax wise I have made the necessary corrections. The adjective heavy text is necessary for the overall effect that I want to be achieved (More on that shortly). I'm straddling the line of saying too much however there is a reason for the inconsistent dialogue other than poor writing or an attempt at deception. In fact it is in a way what lies behind other things that you noticed. I keyed in on it in a previous comment. The naming and the adjective effect are tied together with all of the things that you mentioned especially the dog. Where did it go? What happened with the battle? You picked up on important things. However, the questions that you asked about them don't hit these things hard enough. Indeed this introduces some primary story pieces while this particular incident is not the most primary piece of the story. Follow the thread if you are interested in seeing more as more will come!! EDIT: @Ishar feel free to vote in this thread's new poll.
  17. Not totally bad, but very bitter sweet. I am now creatively speaking at a point where I finally have a strong drive and direction. My work is starting to flow in a way that it has not really ever done before now. As a result, I am bolder now with my choices and experimentation. However, I know that no person can create in a vacuum. This led me to try and use my limited resources to try and discover how my experimentation would be received. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part I have been ignored. Though I am creating, the lack of critical engagement makes me wonder if my efforts are worthwhile. I was told once that something on a large scale was beyond me. Maybe they were right. Perhaps my work is not at all worth either my time or the time of others. I don't know and it frustrates me to no end. I want to believe based on a very limited level of engagement that I'm doing a good thing, but honestly I can't help but think that I'm being humored by a few kind souls.
