One thought I had is what if you were hiding in Shadesmar and filled the thing for over a century with the intent of making it sapient?

I also have decided to add in things similar to awakening (not using color) and spren (they are already kind of there, but I may make it a little more integrated). -
From what I know about spren on Roshar is that they were bits of investiture that slowly formed and gained sapience. Is it possible for a fully invested, large metalmind to gain sapience on its own? I know that one way to artificially do it is to awaken it, but I was wondering if there were a way for it to become sapient like spren on Roshar.

I think you misunderstood. I mean that if you were walking down the street, and you had passed a metal gate, you already know where that gate is relative to you. You could then mentally select to pull in the direction of the gate. It would be the same as if you mentally pulled on the line. A better way to say this is you know where that line is that is pointing at you, so even if it is out of your normal range of vision you know which it is and where it leads to so you should be able to pull on it.

@Life&Death I have formed the command and am ready to awaken it. Capabilities: Allows Soul (once bonded) to store and tap and burn duralumin. Feeds slightly on Soul's connection, but compounding helps counteract this. Drawbacks: When storing, any metalmind only receives 50% of connection. 25% goes to the bond, and 25% goes to the side effect. The side effect is that through connection, besides the normal benefits, it will help contain urges like extreme bloodlust. This is done by the connection to Soul's freedomspren. It makes diminishes the things that go against the Ideals of a Skydancer. They are still there but are within controllable ranges. "I will be on a trip for a short time, so come pick it up when I get back."

I'll make one specially for you. I have decided that an aluminummind can be awakened because the endowment would use the opening created by the feruchemical charge to get in. What metal and size? And what can I know about your character so that I can give it the proper command? If you just want the default ones the tin earring costs a thousand breaths and the copper earring costs a secret memory. The memory can be PM'd.

Within the cosmere, I would make an awakened metalmind. When in Shadesmar, it would manifest just like higher spren do. It would have characteristics of what it represents (i.e. Pattern's head). It would grant the ability of allomancy by feeding off of the feruchemical charge and feruchemy through the burning of metals. Both would be the strength of their origin (i.e. Allomancy being equal to a lerasium Mistborn, and Feruchemy equal to the strength of a full feruchemist). When represented in the physical realm it must feed off of the feruchemical storage from within. It can take on any shape. As with shardblades, they can die. In which case, the become just a compounding metalmind in the form which it had been when it died. They can also have a gemstone mounted to summon and dismiss just like a shardblade. The scadrian equivalent of shardblades. The humanmade ones that are awakened and unnatural will have a side effect and personality based on the command. Natural ones will be offspring of the original thirty-two made by Kilo.

@Life&Death The two offered above are available publicly. The other fourteen awakened metalminds are reserved for special people and most of those haven't actually been awakened. I offer a standard selection of unkeyed metalminds, some hemalurgic jewelry, rosharan fabrials, and awakened objects. The behavior of an awakened metalmind is similar to bonding to a higher spren and there are unknown side effects. @Archer's is as of yet unbounded, but as it is not of Honor and Cultivation it is uncertain how the bonding will go. I am mostly a custom craftsman and while I have a standard selection of items and specials for first time buyers, if you are looking for invested objects I am open to orders. What exactly are you looking for? If you do want an awakened metalmind, tell me more about yourself so that I might determine what might be best for you.

As I only learned of the cosmere last spring, I found it interesting how close my writing universe was. All of the worlds that intertwined, worshipping, not shards but beings at a similar power level, hard magic, etc.

The bracer warms to his touch and he gets a distinct impression of someone just beneath the surface of consious thought. "It seems likely that she will accept the bond. She is of an advanced command that took two people to visualize. The best way to think of it is like a sore. Remember that she feeds off of you. If you neglect her, she will deteriorate back to a normal bendalloy metalmind. Filling and tapping the metalmind is what she thrives on. There are also a few unexpected results as well. For now only time will tell. I am suspicious that with her, you will be able to do something similar to Lift as well." Kaj removes the gemstones from the bracer and an aluminum strip falls to the floor. "Hello there," a feminine voice speaks into Archer's mind. "Are you ready to make a difference in the world? Thanks. I'll take that into consideration. I wrote Kilo's part in 4th grade. It will definitely change. I actually have a post that includes the first portion of the first chapter. The rest of what is written is under rewrite (The reason I haven't rewritten Kilo's section). I am extremely grateful for the feedback.

I was just browsing forums and found it. Eating crem would be helpful as it is a plentiful resource. My favorite character would have to be between Lopen, Kelsier, Sazed, Wit, and Pattern. My favorite books would be the Mistborn books. Now if I were to staple my soul to an object that wasn't me, what would happen?
