Well, my idea was for Salem. But I've already posted 2 intros in Salem and nobody else has added to it, so I can't really use it yet... Errr, about the whole Barrier+Upgrade thing? I don't know. Maybe Barrier's weakness is very common or something.
-
So should I make Barrier an actual thing, or...?
-
This.... This is beautiful.
-
Too true... I mean, I have an idea for a new Epic that is basically similar to Upgrade, but instead of improving Epic powers, it just takes down barriers. For example: My Epic, Element. If he were to be Upgraded then his Elementals would be a whole lot stronger. If the barriers were taken down however, the Elementals wouldn't change, but the number that could be summoned at any given time would increase. Something like that, I suppose. Then there's that whole scene I have planned where the Omegas attack a bank, accidentally kill Element's grandmother, he uses the barrier Epic and wreaks havoc, killing the whole freedom team. Then he starts a horrible disease that infects plenty of Vanillas, yadda yadda, so on and so forth. I'm rambling again

Anybody have any thoughts for Salem's destruction? (Also, side note, over halfway through Dalles, so if somebody ends it without me being able to write about Event Horizon......) Edit: Hey, @Voidus, I also found this for your SonicAssassin Epic idea: https://qntm.org/genres.

The real question is... What's going to happen after Oregon's destruction? Will there be another RPG in a different state? Different country? If so then there will have to be some new element to draw people back in.
-
Oh, nice catch. Edited.
-
Well, uhh, the Omegas are kinda anti-Epic, so... I mean an Epic infiltrator can be arranged, but that seems a bit cliché haha. Glad to hear it! (Also, Element's bio is complete, if you wanna check it out :D) Edit: Fixed Grammar Errors.

Alrighty, first scene for the soon-to-be Omegas is up! (See the Salem Thread). Don't be shy to PM me if you want to be a member of the Omegas! Only a couple of rules: They cannot be Epics (obviously). You probably have to be prepared for me asking for a collab at some point. Your character will most likely die, so keep that in mind. Keep posting, guys

Let's get the ball rolling, guys... Aaron Lent prowled through the street, searching for a potential recruit. Or, preferably, potential recruits. He despised the Epics. He hated how Soulcaster didn't rule properly. He strongly disliked the fact that he had lost all of his matches in the Arena. His response? Create a team to ultimately cleanse Salem of the monsters who lived there. Save the vanillas. Be a hero. Aaron absently continued on his course through the densely-packed street, late afternoon sun still shining. His mind frantically whirred, trying to figure out exactly how he would accomplish his goal. Turns out, you're much more ambitious and hopeful late at night. Well, he could work with that. Some yells snapped him out of his reverie. Turning to pick out the disturbance, he spotted two people snarling at each other, standing barely three feet apart, a ring of curious vanillas in a ring around them. An Epic fight? Were they even allowed in Salem, still? The couple engaged in a wild fisticuff, throwing carefully placed punches. This made details difficult for Aaron, but what he could distinguish was that they were both clearly angry at one another, for certain reasons unknown to him. Male and female. Perhaps they were dating? Well, if that were the case, they clearly weren't any longer. The struggle went on for a short time, concluding with the woman wrestling the man to the ground. Dude, her muscles were bulging. The guy on the floor's punching gradually subdued to a mild arm wave, before he finally completely collapsed. Aaron slowly breathed out. Whew. That was intense. Neither of them were Epics, though. Exactly what he wanted. As enforcement approached, the woman noticed the band and began sprinting away. She suddenly stumbled in her haste to get away, however, which allowed Aaron to smoothly place a small piece of paper in her back pocket. He grinned to himself, noting the woman hadn't felt the brief tug, and moved towards the man as well. Once he'd reached the body, he picked him up as if to hand him over, but placed a copy of the first paper in to the guy's pocket too. His calling card. On it, he'd written, 'Meet at the old cemetery at 9:00 sharp. You won't regret it.' Hopefully, the two vanillas would follow the instructions. Unless, of course, they were both exterminated for causing a disruption. Unlikely, however. Aaron hummed a satisfied tune, placing the still form on the ground, and melted into the growing crowd. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Birds chirping. People chatting. Vendors bargaining. How could nature produce such beautiful scenery yet also shove into the mix crazy superhumans with killer intentions? That was what Alex Hart, also known as Element, thought as he passed into Salem, an area famed for its gladiator battles. His recent escape had been caused by his house blowing up, so he sought shelter elsewhere. Sparking blowing up. They never discovered the convict, if there even was one. Shame. That could have been an interesting day for Alex... "You there," he pointed at a passing vanilla, who swivelled around, eyes widening, "show me where I can sign up for the battles." The vanilla pointed a suddenly shaky finger to a tavern, and replied, "It's in the bar over there. Go in and write down your powerset to sign up. That's all there is to know." "Thank you kindly." Element strode towards the bar, his Grandmother in tow, glee stretching his lips. Once he reached it, he briefly hesitated, shrugged as if he didn't give a care in the world (which he didn't) and stepped inside. Instantly, he was met with the curious smell of alcohol and sweat from humidity. Then, Alex waited another moment, before clearing his throat and stating, "I am Element, and I would like to join the infamous warriors in battle. Where might I find the ability to do so?" "Think Tank is over there, bud." Alex glared at the visitors, already furious to be addressed in such a way, but calmly assured himself they probably didn't know who he was. Still a slontze, though. "Want to join, too, Grandmother?" he asked the elderly woman trailing behind him, who carefully shook her head. This wasn't due to her frailty, however. Alex's Grandmother went by the name of Supersonic, a Gifter who could grant super speed. She could definitely hold her own in a fight. The fights just reminded her of her past. She never outright spoke of these things to Alex, although she mentioned them a couple of times, and Alex never pushed. Alex instead scribbled on the sheet of paper, and once content, promptly headed to the exit of the tavern. Where he was faced with a loving couple holding each other, faint smiles on their faces, and huge headphones covering their ears. Element decided now would be a great time to show off his powers. He shut his eyes, concentrating, and moved his arms around slightly. Wind. That seemed appropriate for the current situation. When he opened his eyes again, a tall, thin being hovered next to him. A Wind Elemental. Move these people out of my way, he mentally commanded the creature. Obeying the orders, the Wind Elemental lifted its arms, creating a strong gust of wind, and used the wind to shove the couple away, and into a nearby table. Satisfied, Element reclaimed the creature and left the building, already hearing awed whispers. This is gonna be a whole lotta fun.

Thanks, this will hopefully clear things up for me too haha. Basically, all Elementals - including Sub-Elementals - can only be controlled if a: he can see them, or b: they are close enough to him. He can still control them if he sees them out of a camera, for example. And, he has to be within a 20 meter range to control them without vision. Of course, he can't see out of their eyes (unless he is using a Camera Sub-Elemental or others, I guess), so it can be hard. I should probably correct rocks. I kind of meant the generic "rock", i.e. a visible stone that isn't stuck to the ground (pebbles, boulders etc.) Yes, the Life Elemental can heal him, and the deadly disease would kill in roughly a week, so as not to be too OP. The disease spreads via coughing, sneezing or long skin-to-skin contact. For Sub-Elementals, well... I was a bit unsure. I'm assuming they would work best if they incorporated the main function of said object. If you meant a wind-up car, the Sub-Elemental would probably have a dial to wind up, and once it was ready, would just propel forward. I didn't say all Sub-Elementals were helpful! Thanks for the feedback dude.

Element Full Name: Alex Hart Age: 19 Power Set: Backstory: Extra "Elemental" info: Extra Character info: Suggestions would be welcome! Edit: Fixed backstory to make Gifter sense.

Sure thing. Will do full write-up shortly, once I find time. Thanks again Voidus

Elemental beings sound cool (like the limit of only one at a time). And I'll find a way to prevent Sentry seeing straight away. Taking over Event Horizon too. Cheers!
-
Awesome! In that case... First chance to join in the RP!

Very good points there, actually. I could probably adjust the Schizophrenic one (didn't realise there already were some others) so he does have those powers all at the same time, but they're just not as good, or there could be multiples of him with a different skill set / he has brothers and sisters with different skill sets. As for the second post.... you're absolutely right. Another place, perhaps? Or, well, alternatively, I was kinda hoping the resistance people wouldn't last very long, because the final scene would be preeetty fun to write. Anyways, I'm new, so I'm not the best person to think of these ideas EDIT: Has anyone yet adopted Event Horizon? (I'm not obsessed I swear)
-
Just reiterating haha. Could make him stronger to help destroy some stuff (hopefully Salem). Will provide more info if asked.
-
I've noticed that most RP's are inactive. Hoping to move Salem along as I love the idea. However, I sort of need the go-ahead (plus I don't have any approved Epics yet). Was hoping to adopt Upgrade as his info was displayed on the "Adoptable Epic" page but it seems he's already taken, sadly... Also have an idea for a group of human resistance fighters in Salem too. They're not like the Reckoners in that they prefer to loot buildings (banks, stores) and only kill Epics if they have to. Of course, they have to also be good at hiding or Soulcaster probably would have killed them all already. So, that and Element (the schizophrenic one) are my main ideas. Now looking to adopt some different Epics, with Salem in mind. Any other ideas?
-
I also have a crazy idea for an Epic. Basically, he can change his personality (and at the same time, powers) at will, but this is done via choosing an element (fire, water, wind, earth, life and death). He had Schizophrenia as a kid, of course. So, his powers will adapt and will be pretty cool, but not game-changing (I won't make him OP). I already have a backstory, weakness, town he goes to and powers for him. What do you guys think?
-
So apparently Upgrade is up for adoption. Just wondering who to talk to and even if I can. Thanks guys :-)
