  1. In that quote, Kaladin states that Passion is what makes them human, and as we now know, the Rosharans are from Odium originally. I wonder if this idea of Passion is much bigger than any of are looking, that Adonalsium is all Passion and the shards are pieces of it. Making Odium the shard of passions that lead to hatred, such as lust, gluttony, bloodlust as shown by his Unmade. If this is the case, all the shards could claim to be some kind of pure passion. After thinking through this I have come to my own conclusion that Odium is not Passion, but instead pure Hatred in result of a select few intense base passions While looking up passion for a definite answer I found this on the wiki page: "Denis Diderot describes passions as "penchants, inclinations, desires and aversions carried to a certain degree of intensity, combined with an indistinct sensation of pleasure or pain, occasioned or accompanied by some irregular movement of the blood and animal spirits, are what we call passions. They can be so strong as to inhibit all practice of personal freedom, a state in which the soul is in some sense rendered passive; whence the name passions. This inclination or so-called disposition of the soul, is born of the opinion we hold that a great good or a great evil is contained in an object which in and of itself arouses passion" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passion_(emotion) this quote seems to point towards all present arguments, Odium is that fierce of evil passions that renders a soul passive and inhibits personal freedom. Odium causes a void of freedom and emotion through extremely intense and hateful passions
  2. I was looking through tWoK and noticed a quote from Kaladin. It is kinda long so I am just going to take a picture. Page 690: I am trying to decide what side this is arguing. Perhaps both, but definitely worth acknowledging what people in-world think
  3. Merely 2? Of course not! He gets Odium, Cultivation, Honor 2.0 as well as Trell and Autonomy if those two are different as well as one other. Perhaps Endowment. Later he will help someone reforge Devotion and Dominion and get them too
  4. I technically listened to a teacher read my class Alcatraz a long time ago. I didn't read another until way later when I read Steelheart, which got me hooked on Sanderson so I marked that Edit- I forgot I had posted this, but I thought about it for a while and posted my updated and detailed version of the story. I should probably have voted Alcatraz. Whoops
  5. It does in OB... I used to have a problem with looking in the back... Then Sanderson called me out on it and I haven't done it since then
  6. Well the other option is Syl cheering and offering advice...
  7. LEIFTINSPACE Can you write in one of my books about something we don;t know about the Shards, or at least one of the Shards? BRANDON SANDERSON Odium has killed at least one more Shard than the ones we know about. This is the WoB I was thinking about when I read the name Uli Da. I don't know when we got this though, or if we knew Ambition at the time so I suppose she could be what this is talking about
  8. Huh, I hadn't realized Uli Da(as mentioned in Oathbringer, right?) was Ambition. I thought that was one of the shards we hadn't met yet. When did we learn this? Or maybe, we are all wrong and Odium is just a huge sexist and is targeting the female shards, namely Devotion, Ambition, and Cultivation. Perhaps Dominion and Honor were just casualties for being gentlemen(which fits with Lust)
  9. That is what I thought too, that she was hidden. I feel like not taking Ambition's shard is evidence towards him not being passion though, with Odium it makes sense that he kills Ambition, whereas if he were passion and not merely hatred, why wouldn't he claim Ambition and become a Passion/Ambition double shard superpower like Harmony is? Also, if Odium was Passion instead and had taken Ambition, what could we call that?
  10. You are forgetting Ambition with this theory, I feel like Ambition would be for "free passion" as you put it, and yet Odium splintered him for being one of the greatest threats to his plans(WoB below) If Odium truly was a shard of the strongest Passions, wouldn't he want to claim Ambition to add to his power, rather than kill him? WoB: ARGENT I want to take us back to some Shards before we skip me for the fourth time. So there were a few of the Shards that Rayse Splintered, included Ambition, Dominion, and Devotion. BRANDON SANDERSON Yes. ARGENT And those were all way back in history. So, we know that the Shard’s personality overrides the Vessel’s personality over time? BRANDON SANDERSON Strongly influence, and depending on the Vessel, override. ARGENT So, did Rayse choose those Shards because-- BRANDON SANDERSON He went after Ambition first, but didn’t find Ambition until after going after Devotion and Dominion. But Ambition was number one on his hit list. ARGENT Was it because of the Shard or because of the Vessel, or the person. BRANDON SANDERSON In this case it was the Shard primarily. He was afraid that this was a Shard that would rival him. But, he then got trapped in the Rosharan system.
  11. Nice job! That is the Windrunner Glyph, right? Mine is Brandon spelled in the steel alphabet (Also how did you get your picture on here?)
  12. So you can see it? Thanks!
  13. Ok, the video didn't work like I thought it would. Can anybody tell me how to link a video or pictures from my camara on my phone?
  14. I carved my name(and Sanderson's name) in the steel alphabet into a pumpkin for Halloween. What do you think? I couldn't get it to work with the lights off for some reason. Just trust me when I tell you it makes it better 1030172245.mp4
  15. And zen ze French man's mind vas svapped vith shallans mind.
  16. It would die. 2D would probably be Octagon, 3D is a Dodecahedron No Of course. That and that cats lay purple eggs; Duh. 92. Unless you are Hoid, then it can be whatever the storms you want it to be.
  17. Very unfortunately, with minds swapped, Adonalsium couldn't stop the chaos Rayse rent, randomly switching everyone's minds at random times.
  18. Mine is INTP-A and Ravenclaw, we would get along quite nicely
  19. I feel Kenton would be good against the sand creatures, as using the power in the sand may be the only way to kill them Probably the Return of the King but the whole trilogy is good Meh. I'm not a big tomato fan, so lasagna is only meh. I don't hate it, but certainly don't love it. Wax or Renarin. Those two are the most like me and would fit nicely with me and the rest of my family (kinda strange mix, but works well for me) Hoid or Jasnah would be good for any highly intelligent enemy. Who says we need to fight when we could have a ridiculous and or philosophical discussion?
  20. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. I probably won't, but I still reserve that right. Actually I won't 'serve' anyone, but I reserve the right to not answer any question Ill start myself off with a good question with an answer I am quite proud of: What is your name and last initial? My name Is Brandon S. Boom... Anyone jealous yet?
  21. I'm talking about the foot type as in foot and toe shape. There is the Greek foot, with the second toe as the longest, the Egyptian foot with the big toe the longest and the rest continuously shorter, and the Square foot, where the big toe is generally the longest and the others are pretty much the same length. I have the Greek foot. (Apparantly foot shape can tell you stuff about your personality, but don't take much stock in it. Instead take the Mbti) You should take the MBTI and House test on 16personalities.com and pottermore.com
  22. I am reading The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks. In return for reading it, I got a friend to read WoK. win-WIN after I finish it, I will read WoK, WoR Edgedancer and Warbreaker again before OB comes out, then I will finish the night angel trilogy
  23. I've been listening to Christmas music for the last month. Classic songs all day and instrumental all night. I can't wait until this is socially acceptable, because then I will listen to it even more. And even louder.
  24. Renarin, the Ref, struggled to say "Quentin quacked as a quetzal quizzed queenly Quakers, quietly quavering quarks and a quagga's quiver. Quickly, Quellion squished quamash, quipping about quarks, quarrys, queries, and Squidward." ten times fast @Captains Domon sorry, I added this as an edit and couldn't get the quote to work
  25. 38% Skybreaker 31% Truthwatcher 28% Willshaper 26% Dustbringer 18% Elsecaller 9% Stoneward 8% Lightweaver 3% Bondsmith 0% Edgedancer 0% Windrunner Hmm. I was really hoping for Windrunner, and Edgedancer was close to the top. After a little soul searching I realized this was pretty accurate and I really only want those two for their powers. Skybreaker and Truthwatcher fits. I guess I will have to change who I am rooting for now. Go Szeth and Renarin now!
