discorat replied to LewsTherinTelescope's topic in Cosmere Discussion
True, but still. I mainly like these books because of the characters Agreed fully! And not just the journey of this book but all five books, I feel like i have grown with all characters and im in such a happier and healthier place mentally and physically today than i was when i was like 13 and picked the way of kings up for the first time. -
Wind and Truth Full Book Reactions (Cosmere Edition)
discorat replied to LewsTherinTelescope's topic in Cosmere Discussion
honestly guys im just happy kaladin didn't die so i didnt have to off myself... but in all seriousness, I can't believe ive waited 10+ years for this. It was a read, and i was invested, and 99% of my disappointment is due to the fact that its dawning on me that its storming over now. Like arc 1 is over. Dalinar: I loved his arc, the ending was a bit disappointing mostly because it did remind me too much of mistborn era 1, its not like i expected it to happen though, but the first thing i thought was ''hey someone did that before you actually'' lol. But i do love that he didn't kill Gav... that wouldve been horrible to witness. Jasnah: Seeing her arc end at the bottom was actually a great ending for her because shes been this perfect woman all this time. She finally didnt win?? Adolin: lovelovelovelove adolin so much. Him and Maya, gosh the way hes just reviving the deadeyes with Maya, oh my god. His scenes with Maya was the biggest tearjearker for me in this book - just like how Maya speaking in court was in RoW (for some reason i seem to be the only one who bawled their eyes out at that scene??). I love how sanderson didnt make him a radiant. Also the biggest gast i let out when his leg got amputated? Renarin: my sweet boy renarin. Laughed my ass off when he caught rlain looking at them kissing lol. Also, as someone in psychiatry, i did love how his autism was described. Shallan: The reveal of who shallans mom is also gave me a physical reaction, even though i do remember reading a theory about it somewhere. as someone in psychiatry i also do love that sanderson had DID experts to help out. Venli; Too little of venli tbh Navani: Not much happened with her i feel like? Right? Szeth: Just topped my favorite character list, right after Kaladin. This book was made great because of him in all honesty. I could imagine some people thinking him as over the top, but hes just so, so traumatized. Im thinking maybe CPTSD, sometimes i thought he was a bit autistic, but i just think its the trauma. Hes been through SO much and never healed from any of it, that poor poor boy. They took EVERYTHING from him. He loved one little sheep and they slaughtered it and they made him kill, and then he spent an entire night weeping over the dead corpese/skin of that blind sheep? and then they forced him to keep killing as a punishment? and not even that, in the end when they had broken him to the point where he didnt even see himself as human they wanted him to give away the last piece of himself he had to become a herald. Yeah storm you nale, even though you redeemed yourself storm you and good on szeth for giving the finger to that spren Lift: Didnt annoy me in this book Wit: Did annoy me in this book Gavilar: Still hate that bastard! Taravangian; Still hate that bastard! Moash; Still hate that bastard! I probably forgot someone Visually that stone wall crumbling even further the further along you got gave me so much anxiety- 379 replies

Lightweaver. Wanted to be a windrunner because i relate more to kaladin but if we have to be honest with ourselves (talking about the five different people i have inside of me) were probably lightweavers

New reader. Kaladin motivation doubts.
discorat replied to AliceRoseGold's topic in Stormlight Archive
it's kind of hard to explain if you don't work in health care. The job doesn't end when you leave the hospital. Kaladin grew up wanting to become a soldier because he saw it as a ''cool thing'' - because he was a kid and idolized it. Meanwhile he was being schooled by his father to save people. When you know how to save people, you can't just not do it. Also just having the knowledge of saving someone but being unable to do so is such a hard thing to struggle with. -
i think its so funny me and kaladin follow the same career paths

im that too actually -
Okay sorry for coming in (after an entire year of being away again)(i study a lot) I probably agree with venli being a 4 (i am a 4 myself and that might be why i defend her so much). However I have issues with Shallan being a 7 just because she fits as a 4 as well (and i'm also a lightweaver so i just make shallan a 4 so we can match)

What's Your Bad Pitch For The Ending Of The Stormlight Archive?
discorat replied to Bacon's topic in Stormlight Archive
My bad pitch odium will make Gav/Adolin his champion, knowing that Dalinar would never be able to kill them. Dalinar looses, Gav/Adolin (most likely Gav) go on a revenge mission the entire second phase of the books and kills odium in the end. Szeth will be his father/guide now that Dalinar is gone. Adolin will *suicide* or die recklessly because of what happened, and Shallan will fully become Veil, and end up with Kaladin. In the second phase of the book, this is what will make Kaladin hate himself again. Renarin and Rlain kisskiss and become a couple, and since Adolin and his father is gone, theyll get married and rule new Altethkar together. I 100% believe this theory, and no one can convince me i am wrong. -
Dalinar is probably the easiest to place, haha. I feel like Kaladin would be a 2 more than 1 (yes this forum is one year old and i am revisiting it now) since I feel like 1's are more structurally about right and wrong, while 2's are more emotionally about being right and wrong. Kaladin doesn't really care as a whole if half of the world kills the other half, but he would care if two of his close friends kill eachother. This is just how i vibe with him. Hes like a mini-Dalinar, except the emotional part. Shallan i put as 4 because of the 'not knowing who i am' part of fours, but she could be a nine as well, except i feel like she has too many strong opinions to be a nine, and she CAN pick sides. Youre right about adolin, hes probably a three.

Hellooooooo! welcome! this is a very sweet community. the only hate you will find is from me, directed at myself.

Kaladin-type 5w2 Shallan-4w7 Dalinar-1 Adolin-3w7 what do you think? Objections? hate towards me and my work? I have always loved enneagram personality types, I'm personally a 4.

Technically, even real life religious people see certain things as miracles, and by your logic then atheism here is stupid as well? I don't think its easy to compare our world with theirs, to them radiants and storms are a part of history and ''real life''. We have people with incredible athletic abilities and tropical storms here, too, that probably are worshipped as well. Also there are different religions, Jasnah just doesn't believe in the one most people in Alethkar do.
