Ain't it cool. I'm confident Destiny is fortune and its a way more accurate word for what we know about it. I think abilities are stuff like memory and intelligence (from copper)? More 'core' than juggling or skill but less magical. And copper is interesting to me - with the questions we've had about compounding copper perhaps it does more feruchemically than just memory.

I just want to thank you guys for doing these. Since I've had to become an almost inactive Sharder, an hour a week is a great way to stay in touch with new WoBs, hear good discussions of specific subjects and feel like a member of the community again as I yell at my phone (typically in support of Ian or Evgeni and against Eric or Ben :D).
So thanks for all the effort you take (especially you Eric), I'm seriously glad you have kept up the weekly episodes for so long.

Luckily we Sharders would never nitpick

Saving the best for last. It is one of the Cosmere's greatest bromances!

I found that way more interesting than i thought! Turns out that even for someone uninterested in the romance, there can be some great character analysis when the triangle is discussed in a calm, mature, non-circular way. You guys made the least appealing aspect of SA worth listening to. Something I am unable to read about on the forums due to the aggression. So thank you.
and yeah more matt please

I loved that guys! Some nice theorizing in there. Windy particularly hit it out of the park. More! More epigraphs! More Recreance! Oh and you should do a dedicated episode to worldhoppers.

One of my favorite things is seeing relative newcomers citing obscure WoBs like a boss, WoBs that very few people would have known how to find a month ago, and seeing almost no WoB question or challenge go unanswered. Seeing Arcanum become a basic part of Shard dialogue so quickly is just wonderful.

This is so utterly wonderful. It is your inspiration to artistry. The Gaiman quote! Australians question simply this; must not we have needs? Have we not? Must this simple, questioning Australian quote Gaiman, the artist, to inspire you? Is it wonderful? Utterly. So is this.

I posted this in the wrong forum, so here it is
I'd like to step in to raise some toasts here. Quite a few people contributed significant amounts of time to this...masterpiece of Cosmerology. I feel like it's dominated my minimal spare time for a while but I was a later and lesser contributor (and helping was something I was both honored and duty-bound to do given my WoBsession). Sharders we all know and love like Jofwu, Kurkistan, Windrunner, Calderis, Blightsong, Oversleep. Particular praise to Pagerunner and Argent for their outsized contributions. Unsurprisingly Chaos is magnificent, delegating like a demon and pulling endless long nights, working on this thing long, long before I was even a member of this site. (And my involvement with this is recent so forgive me if I've under-credited people). I may have contributed a bit but I'll get so much more out of Arcanum than I could ever give to it. Many of you know my WoBsession and this transforms the ability to gain a black belt in WoBfu.But my endless thanks for truly making this Wonderland of WoBs happen go to two people. Firstly, Mestiv. The Codebringer. He has done so much in making this dream happen. I don't speak code but I understand what he's done is not easy and I know the results are beautiful. He has enabled our addiction. And, this cannot be emphasised enough - he's not even a WoB fiend. He did this for the community, for you. What a guy.But my endless gratitude, admiration and love are for Weiry. the Master of WoBs, a guy I looked up to even before I realized the scope of this and his part in it. He made this happen. Since long before i was a member of this site he plotted and planned, and of course WoBbed. He put in the work. He had the vision. This was his Citizen Kane. For years and years from now, when you can learn the Cosmere more easily, you have Weiry to thank. He's my hero, and he'd better be your storming hero too.So go! WoB like you've never WoBbed before. Browse over seven THOUSAND WoBs, many never before seen, with full sources. If you've ever wondered where that WoB is you swear you remember, it's here. If you've ever wondered about Brandon's intonation in that doubtful WoB, or wanted to hear his hilarious reaction to bizarre theories (e.g. Wayne stole a Returned Horse), the audio snippet awaits. If you're obsessed with a particular topic and want to research it, it's one search away.So go! Enjoy the labor of love of many, inspired by one. Soak it up.So go. Dance with the WoBs.12 -
This review brought a tear to my eye Chaos. For a mathematician you sure have a way with words. You're the [redacted] most [redacted] Tearbringer this [redacted] of the [redacted] [redacted] forum.

These signed and numbered copies, are they for order? Or do you have to go to this signing to pick them up?
they're for order online and they deliver internationally (I'm aussie so I went through them). You put in your personalization during the order if you want one.

I'm thinking we need to give you some kind of bonus or something...!!
Only bonus I need is for you guys to complete the beautiful work you're doing (subject to funds) There are great backers out there who pledged far more than I could afford.
But hey if you want to do a bonus track of my namesake, Extes, sacrificing his son for knowledge of the date of his death, I won't criticize

I was proud to make this only the second kickstarter I've ever backed (and giggled a bit when I was the 17th backer for the tier I did...y'know...17th... ), but to read more background, and particularly Sae Sae's story, makes me even more passionate!
I can't wait for it guys, and thank you for trying to do something that will truly elevate the already semi- religious experience I have from these books.
And great interview, whichever of my 17th Shard peeps did the questioning

Brandon has more fans than cosmere fans, and him writing other books keeps him refreshed for big cosmere works.
I can understand this, and I'm not insanely excited for Apocalypse Guard either, but it's really important to him that he takes breaks. (Plus he is outlining Stormlight 4 anyway.)
I'm just being flippant nothing compares to Cosmere, but I've read and loved every last non-Cosmere book. And I absolutely appreciate that while other authors take breaks from writing, Brandon's breaks still involve writing.
Hmmm and very interesting that soulcasting was called awakening. It doesn't actually make a lot of sense to me, but it feels like a long time since we had a non-reddit WoP so I will gladly eat this tasty knowledge, these delicious lies.

I...would rather more annotations than Apocalypse Guard

Congratulations Feather that's utterly awesome it's a privilege to read it early but far more it's incredible to be able to actually contribute to the story and wider Cosmere in some small (or large) way! I hope to live such a dream in the next, say, 30 years

Uhh, if you look closely, Jasnah is floating. Neither of her feet is on a step...
I like to think she's simply jumping sideways down each step, mocking the Thunderclast with her Jasnah-don't-give-a-chull attitude.

In fairness to the Nightwatcher, what she gives you does have at least some connection to what you asked for. However, there's always a curse attached (which is explicitly independent of the boon), and if you stump her then all bets are off. (Note that in Lift's debut interlude Wyndle was completely perplexed as to what on Roshar Lift could possibly have asked for, to get Lift's special brand of Edgedancer-ness)
I particularly like this WoB from almost a year ago, indicating both that the Nightwatcher can be stumped, and that maybe Lift's abilities are more about the rules of the Old Magic and Lift's actual request. I suspect that the more your request is selfish, the more the Nightwatcher twists it, and that Lift's request was both unselfish and completely baffling - hence she was given a Boon that was so uniquely Awesome it led to her being chosen for bonding.
QuoteBRANDON SANDERSON
So Lift is a really weird one. She visited the Old Magic and asked something very strange, and the Old Magic didn’t know how to treat that, and so answered with something equally strange. So you will actually see what happened with Lift and things like that, but suffice it to say some really weird things are going on.

For anyone interested in exploring the question of the previous lands i did a thread a while back where i tracked every instance in the cosmere i could find of golden eyes or golden hair (at least one appears in white sand, elantris and nalthis iirc)
Anyway whether you agree with the theory or not it has potentially useful references you can find
