  1. Oh my gosh, I freaking LOVE Steven Universe! I've only been watching it since last summer, when I binged every episode that was out at the time, but I'm in love with it. I just wish episodes came out more often. But if less episodes means better episodes, then I'm fine.
  2. Is there any reason why you chose burgundy, which happens to be my mom's favorite color? Are you truly an assassin? Do you like piña coladas? What is the answer to universe?
  3. Gary's Mod
  4. Goat simulator EDIT: (As in the game, that is)
  5. Cheese Cake (Not sure how, but don't question me)
  6. @bleeder Happy Birthday dude!
  7. It'd still be cool to see them. I bet they were pretty good.
  8. Okay, this happened yesterday, but I'm only just now getting a chance to post about it. For my high school band, we do an ensemble called a clarinet choir. It's all sorts of clarinets; sopranos, E flats, basses, altos, etc. Anyway, I stayed a little bit later after rehearsal yesterday to help put up some of the clarinets people were trying to see if they liked them and if they wanted to play them (I played an alto, which is like a saxo-clarinet). When I got back to the band hall, along with a few other people, our band director stopped us and asked if we had any song suggestions for our marching show this year. I got so excited, because I've listened to lots of music and I've thought to myself, "Hey, this would sound amazing if we played it." This is like a dream come true. Well, a better dream would be if got to march in a drum corps or became a famous author, but this is up there.
  9. This is really good. It's right in the middle of the action, which is used a lot, but you did it well. You have just enough backstory to set up the world a little without being too exposition-y. My only real criticism is that there we're lots of little grammar and spelling mistakes; some sentences didn't make sense because there were words missing. Besides that, it was pretty dang good.
  10. I have several ideas for stories that I'll probably never write, but I've thought about a lot.
  11. I've been wanting to make music for awhile, but I don't have access to any really good music studios like Fruity Loops or any of the other big ones out there. I have a little app called Auxy and have been using it for years now, but haven't made a single track yet. I always mess around and make something that sounds cool, but I never know where to go with it.
  12. Oh, I know. This isn't my first church camp. But this is the first in awhile, and for some reason it's for a church that we don't even go to (but we haven't gone to church in awhile anyway). The activities will probably be fun (the camp is titled "Carpe Diem," and there's a game we're supposed to be playing called carpe the flag), it's just that I won't know anyone going into this, and I won't really be able to connect with them very well because I'm pretty shy around people I don't know.
  13. I'm listening to Highscore by Panda Eyes and Teminite. It's a techno song...kind of? I don't know my genres of music very well.
  14. Yeah, and this isn't the first time ever. They usually don't sign me up for stuff on days that I've already got plans though. I'm not really looking forward to this weekend because I'm agnostic, and this camp is very religious....
  15. The volunteer work was something I wanted to do. It's a recycle event at my high school that the band does every year to help raise money for the band (and help with recycling stuff). But my parents signed me up for a church camp over this weekend that I had no idea even existed until last week when they told me they'd signed me up for it, without asking me.
  16. Otherwise known as DCI, Drum Corps International is an organization dedicated to drum corps (pronounced cores plural and core singular but spelled the same for both), which are groups of 150 marching musicians that either play a brass instrument (trumpet, mellophone, baritone, or contra bugle (look it up)), or a percussion instrument (snares, bass drums for the battery, and stationary percussion instruments called the pit). They spend hundreds, almost thousands, of dollars around the end the year to go to tryout camps for the corps they want to perform with, and travel all over the country to go to these camps. With such a small limit on members, most people that try out will not make it, and there is no refund. When a person makes it, they sign a contract and officially become a member of that corps. They spend the entire summer riding around the country in tour buses, practicing and performing the same 10/11 minute show over and over again (this, too, costs lots of money). The job is non-paying, unless you are a staff member, and it is very rigorous. Oftentimes, the corps rehearses no matter the weather conditions. When the corps stops traveling, they don't stay in a hotel but rather in a high school gym near where they will be performing. Only 12 corps make it to finals of the last competition (however it is not required to have gone to every competition throughout the entire summer-that would be impossible). I was wondering if anyone on this website has heard of DCI before. If so, then this is the place to talk about it. What are your favorite corps? What is your favorite show? What do you think this year's season will be like? Do you think the Bluecoats deserved their win? (I do)
  17. -When your parents sign you up for something you REALLY don't wanna do, and you've had plans to do a volunteer thing for band for months now on the same day as said thing you've been signed up for. -When you feel like you have to sneeze and do the scrunched up, "I'm about to sneeze" face. But then you don't sneeze and the feeling doesn't go away, so you're not sure if it's okay to go back to regular face or not. -When you have to get up in the middle of one of your songs that you're listening to. -When books aren't stacked with the biggest on the bottom (or when one book is taller than another, but skinnier than another). -When you have to wait years for a book to come out (looking at you Aztlanian).
  18. Hey, welcome to the board. I'm fairly new as well. However, I would suggest not posting twice (or more) in a row.
  19. Ugh, that cowboys game...that last field goal just killed us. It so looked like it wasn't gonna make it, but then it curved at the last minute. And after they pushed so hard to come back.
  20. We started sight-reading a piece in band today, and in the sixth movement there's an alto clarinet solo. My band director said that we'd probably just have a bass clarinet play it, unless we actually needed the alto in any other pieces that we might play. I'm so gonna try out for that solo, and my odds are pretty good since there's only one other bass clarinet. Of course, her odds are really good too. Or we might not even play the piece. Even if we don't end up playing the piece, I'm still gonna practice the solo.
  21. Well, I meet both of the requirements. Just put me in Lewisville, Texas. It's close enough.
  22. "What do you mean KFC closed?!?"
  23. I found out today that the solo I was planning to do for the [INSERT STATE ORGANIZATION] Solo/Ensemble contest has been taken off the list for solos that you can do. I'm sad, because I really liked that solo. This isn't something absolutely terrible, but I felt like posting it anyway.
