  1. I'm definitely in the minority with my opinion...I think it's average, or just slightly above average. It was incredibly slow at the start, and my interest really only grew in the last 2-3 episodes. The ending was great but I'm just not sure it was worth crawling through the first part to get to it. I think my biggest problem was that I didn't particularly like the characters, and that's unfortunate in an anime where some episodes focus entirely on the characters conversing. However, this was my opinion of it back when I watched it about 5-6 years ago. I think i may give it a rewatch to see if my opinion changes. I mean, can 99.9% of the populace really be wrong about it?
  2. Wow, a Syl tattoo sounds incredible! Has BS ever come to Tennessee? Getting something signed by him would be absolutely incredible I think he mentioned in one of his posts that he may tour to the UK in 2017. Haha well I guess that makes me your senpai (japanese anime reference there!). I'm in my final year of med school now, which brings me to the grand old age of 23!
  3. There were times where I was totally blown away by Re:Zero, but then lots of others where I wanted to throw a shoe at my screen. I liked Subaru's mannerisms and charm in the first half of the series, but these slowly turned to annoyances. And I just couldn't get over the way he treats Rem! I really felt like he used her to an extent. Right now I'm rewatching my favourite anime (Yona of the dawn), one episode for every day leading up to xmas.
  4. Stick to it, I'm certain you won't regret it! I ended up binge-watching it all in a day. I read somewhere that they're planning to make a second and third season, and I honestly can't wait.
  5. I've just completed my second run through of Persona 4 Golden. I'm 5 hours in to Final Fantasy XV and on chapter 12 of Fire Emblem: Awakening. And that's it for the moment. I'm in my final year of med school and that pretty much eats up all my time.
  6. That's a very good point! I hadn't thought about it that way. I think whilst reading WoK, all I could see was a stark contrast between Kaladin fighting for his and the bridgemen's lives, whilst Shallan seemed self absorbed and conniving in her deception. That bias stuck with me, but it was slowly undone in WoR, where I found myself really enjoying the flaws in characters, including Kaladin and Shallan. So i'm very much on the fence with her at the moment!
  7. I've read the first two books, but admittedly back in high school so I don't remember the finer details I'm afraid! But they're on my list for a reread as I wait for Oathbringer.
  8. Lovely to meet you both, Budgie and Cam! I wish I had known about this board sooner. I don't think BS is quite as well known here as he is in the States, so it's been a bit sad not being about to share the love with other people. But alas, I have found you all now, so I'm looking forward to posting a lot As for me, I enjoy anime, gaming and reading of course! Also guys, what's this 'stay away from cookies' business?
  9. Wow, never would have thought it, but this sounds great! I support Kal and Shallan but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing this! As for Jasnah/Kaladin, I can't help but feel that Jasnah, in all her wisdom and poise, would find him to be slightly insufferable and naive. As much as we love Kal, he's still going to be growing and learning from his experiences, he's only 20 after all. She'll probably see him the way she sees Adolin.
  10. I'm in a strange place when it comes to Shallan. I'm not entirely sure I like her character, but I do enjoy reading about her. Does that make sense? I suppose the bottom line is that I'm still undecided. I wasn't her biggest fan in WoK, mainly because of her hypocrisy. She used the fact that Jasnah killed those bandits as a way to justify her stealing the soulcaster. It just felt like she maintained an incredibly 'high and mighty' attitude despite her wrong doings. But I suppose humans tend to look for justification of their actions, so her flaw is incredibly human. I thought she was far better developed in WoR however, and enjoyed her interactions with the other main characters and her past.
  11. My name is Riah, and I'm from London in the United Kingdom. It's a pleasure to meet you all! Really looking forward to posting here and getting to know everyone
