Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
A Budgie replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
@Run Ookla, run! *hugs* I'm really sorry to hear that, especially if it's because of some teacher showing favouritism. @Ookla the Tremendous *hugs* Woah, that sounds scary, and I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker. As already asked, are you okay? -
Okay, in reply to my mentions... I realise that my word won't say much, but I haven't even checked my house document in the last day. I've been busy, and away from the internet. I'll read through everything, do some analysis, and vote on someone later.

@SilverTiger *hugs* I hope you and your sister can sort things out, or at least you can get some time to yourself. @Ookla the Mulkfather I don't really love Christmas all that much either, apart from the chance to relax over the break. I'm sorry you find it so frustrating though. @Ookla the Delightful *hugs* I'm really sorry you're unable to find a job. I'm sure things will get better soon! It sounds like you've put in a lot of effort, so I'm sure someone will notice it. -
Okay, may as well join the bandwagon, and we can go from there. Shqueeves.

Yeah sorry, internet access has been flaky for me lately. I was planning to vote, but unfortunately never got around to it (which was really annoying, since I had planned to vote on Asterion). As for analysis on the write-up...quite possibly there was only one or two elims active enough to vote on who they wanted to take out? We still don't know if the coinshot is an elim or village, but the fact that Darkness took out an elim points to them also being an elim. This suggests, then, that at least a few elims are inactive or somewhat inactive, which is hardly surprising. I think today we should pull in some inactives and people who didn't vote, and find out why.

@Ookla the Dragon woah. Is there somebody in real life, at school perhaps that you can talk to who can help you through your classes/grades? -
Okay...reading through the write-up, obviously Alv was our elim-kill, which could mean that all three of the phatt targets were village. After all, a lot of suspicion was placed on them, so I'd have thought that the eliminators wouldn't have bothered to kill them themselves when we all ganged up on them anyway. The hazekiller kill could have been from a house. We know that Hazekiller was a house focus, so that could be where it came from, because I'm not sure submitting 'send my guards' as an action would have been particularly good or have worked. If so, there seems to be a lot of kill roles...I would definitely advise people scan before killing each other. I'm slightly suspicious of Darkness at the moment. Asking people to reveal their house allignments seems a little eliminator to me, because it sounds like he's trying to get people to focus on houses rather than catching the skaa. I'm not sure though, I'll think things through a bit more later.

Random Stuff X: Something Weird

Yup. I'm hoping to have time afterwards to be in disguise, but it probably won't be as effective. -
You're really nice, and you support people in the Bad Day thread. And you are not a jerk for asking for validity.

@Sami here, I'll rp with you. Hope I got your character right. Lady Noodlington was sitting in her house, drinking a cup of tea, when an almighty thud sounded. She cocked an eyebrow. Assassins, perhaps? She didn’t move from her seat. After a moment, a guard ran into the room. “There appears to be a girl on the roof, ma’am,” he said, bowing briefly. “She doesn’t appear to be making any moves.” “Then what, exactly, is she doing?” “Uh, brooding, ma’am.” “Brooding, you say? Very well. In that case, I shall meet with her in a moment.” “Are- are you sure that’s wise, ma’am?” Again, Lady Noodlington cocked her eyebrow. Perfectly plucked, it could kill a man. Probably. She had never actually tried killing someone with her eyebrow, but she had no doubts that if she tried, she could do it. “Ah, right you are, ma’am.” The guard made another little bow, and scuttled out the door. After a moment, the lady finished her tea, and stood up. “It’s Elizabeth, is it not?” The girl turned to see Lady Noodlington ascending the stairs to the rooftop. She was wearing a dress that could be best described as either ‘fancy’ or ‘poofy,’ and held up a parasol to deflect the slowly falling ash. “Uh, yes.” The woman had recognised her- that was surprising. The entire point of wearing a simple shirt and trouser was, after all, to prevent that from happening. “Lady Noodlington,” she said. She went to proffer a hand, saw the griminess of Liz’s, and visibly recoiled. “Charmed to meet you.”

I agree. Randomly killing people is not going to help us in the slightest, since the eliminators are in the minority. We might get one or two from it, but it's really not worth it. I would think that Alv is an elim if it wasn't for the fact that the action seems more annoying/fun than sinister, plus it seems too obvious. Though I haven't played a game with them before, so I have no clue how they act as an elim vs villager.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
A Budgie replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
@Steeldancer *hugs* Don't worry, I do pretty much the same thing. I just get really stressed for seemingly no reason, and I know it's not fun. It seems you've already figured out the problem, but still, I hope you feel better soon. -

@little wilson *hug* I'm so sorry to hear that everything is going so badly at once. I hope that at least something will go better soon. -
Woah. That was a heckload of death, guys. Question is, how many of those were from the elims? I'm willing to bet two- one the usual elim vote, the other a role one of them has. Which could mean they have two scanners as well, since all three were mistings, though one could've been a lucky guess. Lady Noodlington slipped into the chair beside Joxter the Mighty. "Hello," she said with a smile. "How's it going?" "Good, thank you!" he blustered. "Those dirty skaa might have hurt us tonight, but I will crush them! For I am Joxter the Mighty!" Miraculously, he didn't burst into song. "You certainly are," she said, keeping her eyes on him as she delicately sipped her drink. "And you are truely brave, too." The man puffed out his chest. He looked like he was about to explode. "Thank you!" "In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if you were the most handsome, most brave, most clever man in all of Luthadel." No, before he hadn't looked about to explode. Now he did. "Tell me, how do you do it?" "Ahaha! Trade secrect," he said, leaning forward with a grin. He appeared to be trying to do a serrupticious nose tap. He was also failing at doing a serrupticious nose tap, probably because he didn't actually know what the word meant. "Ah yes," she said with a wink, "and I'm just a weak woman." She snapped out her fan, waving it in front of her face while a coy smile spread across her face.

Okay, reading through and... I don't have many suspiciouns or thoughts, but my main one is on @asterion137. They've been active, but it's all been rp and not-much comment. They did suggest not getting caught up in house politics and ignoring the skaa...but that has been mentioned multiple times before and is already known to everyone here, so by reminding people it suggests that they are noble without actually doing much. So, Asterion137 for now. I may change my vote if I have reason to do so. Oh, and I might not be around much later today, so please try not to murder me for not existing.

Guys. Guys, it's daytime. Why are we all writing that it's the nighttime. Night had just fallen, and Lady Noodlington was in bed, trying to sleep. What else, after all, was the night for? Oh, you may answer with a mumble, ‘something dangerous, sketchy,’ maybe name assassins and thieves in the night, prowling the streets. And there was the mists, too, that which struck fear into the hearts of the noblemen, as much as they laughed and pretended they owned it. Sleep was much more preferable. Noodlington snuggled deeper into her sheets, but despite their comforting warmth she found she couldn’t sleep. It was this business with the skaa, that was it. Or maybe it was the constant fights with the other houses, knowing at any moment you could be murdered or manipulated. Perhaps it was the fact that she was blackmailing two people with evidence of affairs, although that was usually rather fun. Letting out a slight yawn, she got out of bed and went to the window. The recently set sun, combined with the mist and ash falling slowing through the air, gave a rather unique colour scheme. There was the white of the mists and the yellow of a few brave lamps trying to drive away the darkness. There was the red of the sun, just distantly visible. And, of course, there was the grey of the ash. But that was normal. This was the final empire, after all. Shrugging, Lady Noodlington went back to bed. There might be a ball later in the evening, but for now she would sleep. She didn’t understand how the others could go all day and night without the stuff. Okay, some thoughts. Mistborn aren't mentioned in the write-up, which seems deliberate. I'd think there probably is a Mistborn role, but prehaps it is seperate to make sure the game is balanced...a 'Kelsier' role, so to speak, a skaa Mistborn not in any of the houses. That would prevent the houses from being potentially unbalanced by having some super powerful role. Or, maybe there's a Mistborn who isn't known yet, they need to Snap, so their power provides a game-changer when things are running smoothly. Oh, and if anyone wants to rp with Noodles, feel free to do so or contact me to arrange something.

Lady Noodlington gasped. "How terribly awful! Oh!” she put a hand to her forhead, swooning dramatically. “We shall all be murdered in our beds!” She paused for a second, as though to process her own words. “That is, we would be murdered, if it was not for the fact that skaa are incompetent and stupid.” There was a rumbling of agreement. Yes, that’s right, ha! Bet they couldn’t even go to a ball without spilling their drinks on themselves. Besides, everyone knew that the Nobles were far better at killing each other themselves than any traitor would be. They’d done it for hundreds of years, stabbing and backstabbing and plotting, putting up facades of grandeur and glamour. “I’m sure it won’t be too difficult to eliminate these poor creatures,” Lady Noodlington continued. “They might not even know what they’re doing, attempting to imitate a noble.” Mekel Urbain gave her a wan smile, perhaps kindly, perhaps thinking she was being silly. “I am not so sure, unfortunately. They may even be amoung us now.” Now that provoked a reaction. Faces glanced to those on either side of them, suspicion and shock showing through clearly. They even glanced to those in their own Houses. It…couldn’t be one of us, could it? We’re all nobles! Just look at us. And everyone knows how different the skaa are from us. They…couldn’t be here, hiding. …Could they? Quite possibly, they could, thought Lady Noodlington, glancing at the people she had always thought her allies.

@Sunchicken that sounds really bad. Get better soon! -
I listen to a fair amount of audiobooks on the train, and I've been getting into podcasts lately too. Yeah, some stories don't work so well in the audio format, but when done well they can be excellent. There's a version of Murder On the Orient Express that's absolutely lovely, for example, and I keep coming back to it.

Lemon juice, at least it would be thin and easy to wash off. Would you rather be stuck in the role of protagonist in a teenage romance, or in a thriller where you might actually die?
