Well, this is where I had a lot of my ideas. Many of the magic systems were Sanderson-esque, although far less thought out. I'll post more in a bit.

I don't wanna be a jerk or anything, but isn't there a place for this? ...I think that the Creative Writing or whatever it's called could use your summoning to get people to look at it.

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
Jedal replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry for being AFK for the last few days, guys. I'm new to this and I forgot that I was part of this game! Also, I may not be active a lot today because it is my brother's First Communion.- 395 replies

Would you rather be a mistborn, a surgebinder or a full shardbearer?
Jedal replied to Zmaray's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I will fight you until the ends of the earth. Also, enjoy an upvote. There's no concrete evidence that Kaladin would be able to withstand infinite Soothing. He's someone who naturally suffers from depression, but this isn't the same thing. It's not feeling bad, it's not feeling at all. He just...wouldn't. He'd feel perfect calm, be totally unmotivated, drop his guard... This plus the temporal metals make Mistborn pretty difficult to beat. He loses concentration for a second... That second is extended infinitely... Infinite preparation, and boom, no more Kal! -

I'm talking about in modern life. As a Mistborn in the city, you would be infinitely more powerful than a Surgebinder, unless they also had infinite stormlight. Mistborn can control the metal around them, literally cut the Surgebinder to shreds infinite times if they have enough metal ingested. Soothe him to the point where he's numb to everything, or Riot him to the point where he goes insane. Use atium to literally beat him before he can even move. Stop time, start it again, rip all the metal particles from within his body. Fly, and spear him with metal. Infinite reserves equals an inability to lose. The ethical component is unimportant in a fight. Even with a shardblade Radiants can still die. -

Depends on how easily accessible Stormlight is. Because then... then I see you being some sort of Superman with the Windrunner powers. Flying, simulated superstrength with lashing, instahealing and near immortality. Only if you metabolize it like Lift does. Otherwise I would take Mistborn for sure. It's far more versatile and accessibly, because I live near a city where there is an incredibly high amount of metal nearby. Rioting and Soothing are useful, and unlike Surgebinding, you are not bound by any oaths. You don't have to be a good guy. You can be Batman. Depending on what level of Mistborn you are, you could be a real powerhouse. (Is anyone else thinking a Dishonored type thing going on?) -
I have a similar thing. I've had some dreams that sometimes, possibly even years later, actually occur in real life. When I was seven, I had a dream of myself playing the videogame Destiny, and lo and behold, it came to be. We must use these powers to our advantage... EDIT: Post 400!

Jedal stood in the corner, like he always does. He looked at the strange man Namer, who was inspecting his clothes. He laughed softly, seeing his poor taste in vests.- 395 replies

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Jedal replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Is this a private school? Honestly if your school is being so dishonest, you should probably tell someone. If they're trying to threaten you and are trying to stop people from doing things, I would think it's kinda illegal. -

I'm a storming idiot. I've spent all night just storming around on my laptop when I haven't done any of my homework or worked on my essay which is due tomorrow. I make myself angry. -
Excelsior! You already know Quiver.

You must watch it. I insist. It's possibly one of the best anime of all time. Very good themes, great characters, and awesome action

Stahp... I still haven't gotten over the trauma.

Loooooool. That was good. But seriously, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. If you want to see some quality anime, it's waiting for you on Netflix. Alphonse Elric fo LIFE!

So the bodies of the Heralds, which by all means should be regular surgebinder bodies... have immortality?

I don't think that Attack on Titan is nearly as good as FMA. I find Attack on Titan to be boring, honestly. Its too dark, and the story is just grim. FMA had some humor, some hope, and in the end it was about brothers.

Well, why didn't Szeth become a clone of Jezrien then? He was holding the sword for years, and he never felt a thing, other than his own normal insanity. That's my biggest hole in your theory.

But the idea is that they broke the oath by laying down their weapons and walking away, while Taln was dead. Was the act of dropping the Honorblades enough, or was their another component?
-
So, I was discussing with several people on the Cosmere Discord, and I came up with a question about the Oathpact. I wanted to ask the wise members of the Shard what they thought. Do you consider Heralds to be an integral part of the Oathpact? Or is it more based upon the Honorblades? Is it both?

If you are not already the Shard of Knowledge, you soon shall ascend to that position because of the sheer amount of WoB's you have collected. EDIT: I...I just... I just looked through the whole thing...749 WoBs... all cited properly...

@Darkness Ascendant My dude... how many phone numbers do you get on the daily? @A Budgie You're very cute, if you don't mind my saying.

Well, I understand very well what you're saying about wanting those transformative things to happen to you, to make you great, I felt the same way when I was young. It's not so much your privilege, it might just be naivete. But the way you think of yourself... it is very similar to the way I find myself thinking. For me, it's simply because throughout my life I, like Spook, have been told by people that were formative figures in my life that I was less than what I should be. For the average person, I think that's just extreme empathy/compassion. The fact that you feel that you are bratty shows that you really aren't. You're someone with an understanding of their status and position, and that seems to speak to your greater maturity and sensitivity. I think you're someone who bears the weight of the world on their shoulders, and whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to you. EDIT: Turns out we're also the same age! Isn't it wonderful feeling older than your years?
