  1. @Cognizantastic @Edgedancer I understand that Portland is the hot spot, and I have some good ideas, but for the sake of other players and my own sanity, I want to get some experience playing before I hop into a place that has plots mid-climax going on. Really, I thought about it, and I'm just not ready. After reading through the pages of Salem, however, I think that it might be smarter for me to stay in Portland. I don't mean this to be offensive to you, @Voidus, but it doesn't seem like much is happening there. Is there any way that I could separate from CorpseMaker @Blackhoof? Maybe we could PM and find some sort of agreement.
  2. I recently saw this in an old AMA of Brandon's: [–]ArgentSun 16 points 1 year ago I don't think I've seen this asked before, but... Did the Lord Ruler have children? Either as Rashek or as the Sliver of Infinity? permalink embed save give gold [–]mistborn[S] 24 points 1 year ago Yes. permalink embed save parent give gold Hot diggity dog! I'm bubbling up with joy right now. What did his kids do? Did they become kandra? Did they inherit Twinborn powers? Are they still alive through the magic of Discuss.
  3. You... your lack of raisins...disturbs me...
  4. A little thought experiment 1. If a person were to store their complete Identity in a metalmind and lose it, what would be the Spiritual and Cognitive ramifications? 2. Could a person build a totally new Identity? 3. If a person were to build a new Identity and then tap their metalmind, what would ensue in both the Cognitive and Spiritual realms?
  5. Because Bridge Four, you airsick lowlander!
  6. "Revolving metal pinwheels of death" I would like to see the quote where that happens indeed! But yeah, while rotating on a single line is probably impossible, I think that the metal field and the perception piece are possible.
  7. ^ welcome to the Shard Savantism seems to be a method of extending your abilities beyond their limits, as Spook with the pseudo-atium. For Wax, it seems to be more of a matter of perception. As @FiveLate said, Savantism in steel would most likely resort in the blue worldview. Wax hasn't become a Savant, he just seems to have mastered perception.

    ok

Hehehehehe, and their child is retconned out of existence. RIP little baby Jasnah
  9. Alright, so I have decided to adopt Leech! I'm thinking of moving him out of Portland, and into Salem, if that is alright with @Voidus. I was also looking to make a small retcon to Leech's powers, namely forcing him to need physical contact to Leech. Leech's POV would be incredibly introspective, with him thinking about the nature of his abilities, and his need for family. Reason for moving: Growing tired of serving under Corpsemaker, Leech has decided to take his followers with him and leave Portland, worrying that it is too dangerous for him there. Moving out to Salem, Leech seeks to start a new life, one where he and his family can be safe. However, he finds a hunger growing within him, a gnawing, insidious feeling. Leech feels the need to feed, how long will it be before the people of Salem start shriveling up?

    sad

Emo Szeth, all he needs are some razor blades.
  11. damnation. Ok. Welp, I don't really have to be forced, I'm just pretty excited. I wanted to make my own character, but I now see that I do not yet have the right talents for the job. Instead, I want to try and pick up where someone left off, as you said. If you really want me gone, I will leave. And Cognizantastic, I'm just starting to look through his stuff, and I find myself starting to like him...
  12. No, I'm yielding. I'm not trying to be selfish, I just need to be really convinced. Sometimes being nice isn't the way to do it. And if you could tell me, is Leech taken? He was on the list for adoptions and it seems like the two of us might be a perfect fit...
  13. Look, I'm a stubborn guy. But I'll try to see to your suggestions. I'll keep Battery tucked in my back pocket and continue to tinker. When I feel he's ready, I'll set him loose on another question thread. But until then, I'll adopt a character. Maybe Leech? He seems up my alley. If you or someone who could fill me in on him PM me, I would be much obliged.
  14. Ising the thinking no understanding of Jude (Ising the should calling High Imperial)
  15. And he is also mine. I personally enjoy seeing Spook become the Survivor of Flames, and how Ruin's influence actually has a positive impact on him. Over the course of Mistborn, Spook becomes a stronger and stronger character, using Ruin's gift to save people, and not caring about costs. He was a true hero. His writings on Hemalurgy were interesting as well. It shows that he really didn't lose touch with where he came from, and with the struggles he had.
  16. I'm currently leaning towards Salem, but could @TwiLyghtSansSparkles help me?
  17. I'm thinking either Corvalis or Salem, since those two seem to be the only one's accepting Epics at the moment. I think I would have an easier time in a place with less backstory. Which one would be better?
  18. I see. So the only way for a person to physically be Fullborn is to become a Sliver and have their spiritweb increased? Like the Lord Ruler?
  19. @Spoolofwhool
  20. I don't really think of it in terms of genetics. To me it seems like there is a specific amount of "space" alloted for a single person. While the majority is filled by personality and physical features, some parts can be filled with Investiture. Rashek was naturally Invested with Feruchemy, and "added" more space when he became a Sliver(his spirit web was expanded). So, in theory, if someone has the potential to be a Fullborn, but is without the space, the addition of a spren would increase the space, allowing for a person to be Fullborn and Surgebinder.
  21. I forgot about Rashek. But without any Lerasium, there really is no way to become a Fullborn. I'm thinking that if someone had conflicting sDNA then it could be resolved by forging a bond with a spren. (since I seem to remember reading a WoB saying that spren increase the spiritweb)
  22. I mostly meant the lore. But Bungie also has the room to make some pretty great Guardian storylines in a book series. I mean, channeling Light and uncovering mysteries and I mean WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE WHO FIRST WENT INTO THE VAULT?!? WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO ERIS IN CROTA'S WORLD? IS THE QUEEN DEAD? These are some great story ideas, and if they don't do it in the games, they better be some damnation good books. I'd write them myself.
  23. Spook. Lefting I am bourne.
  24. Pagan Min offering you crab Rangoon.
  25. I never heard a thing about the Full Feruchemist/Mistborn being impossible. That dashes my dreams a little. Is there any specific reason why someone could not have an expanded spiritweb (from a spren or something else) and be able to hold the full powers of both?
