The ideals of some orders or more flexible than others. For example on the Edgedancers. On listening to those who have been ignored, I would like to point out that it’s possible to empathize and feel sorry for even those you disagree with and feel need to be stopped. Hmm. I guess SO FAR I am the closest to the Edgedancers. But I am REALLY curious about the Truthwatchers ideals. It’s close to the Edgedancers which implicates empathy MIGHT be part of it. But the fact that Truth is one of the words makes me wonder if at the same time they wouldn’t shy away from giving people the harsh truths they need. I guess I am curious because Renarin is autisic and I am autistic as well, though I am more like Steris in my place on the spectrum.

I don’t know there are to many orders we don’t know enough about. I am waiting on the back 5 before making a decision.

Hey I could EASILY be wrong. It’s Brandon here. I am usually wrong when I try to speculate on his plot twists, but I am NEVER disappointed. In any case it’s still fun to speculate. EDIT: Speaking of the only time I can remember EVER correctly guessing a plot twist of his, was (I believe) in Elantris when after all the talk about how the Dor was tied to the land I correctly guessed that because of the earthquake that had caused the chasm it had changed the land so I think I figured out that the basic Aon was the shape of the land as well as the need to add a chasm line on my own. Even then the Idea that Elantris itself and the cities that surrounded it were a gigantic Aon ampifier that had to have a chasm line added caught me COMPLETELY off guard.

I am going to start with my conclusion and then give you the evidence I have to support this crazy theory. My conclusion is this Shalash, despite being the Herald of the Lighweavers will become a Dustbringer and die at the conclusion in book 10. Here there are two pieces of evidence that eventually led me to this conclusion, although it took a bit my mind to wrap around and bring the pieces together. The first is the different flashback viewpoints we have been confirmed to get throughout Stormlight. In the front half we have Kalladin, Shallan, Dalinar, Eshonai, and Sezth. For the back half are, in no confirmed flashback order, Jasnah, Lift, Taln, Shalash, and Renarin. Does anyone else notice the problem with the pattern? The Lightweavers seem to be represented twice and the dustbringers aren't represented at all. One reason I think Shalash COULD become a Dustbringer is because she has spent so much time tearing down her own self-image. Dust bringers ARE supposed to take things apart to see whats inside them. But that's not the only thing. Brandon Sanderson has said that just like the end to Mistborn was hinted at within the epigraphs of the first book he also said the somewhere within the epigraphs of the first two Stormlight books we find a hint to how the Stormlight Archive would end. The following is a Death rattle from the middle of The Way Of Kings. “The death is my life, the strength becomes my weakness, the journey has ended.” It's basically the Knights Raidant oath turned on it head. But it also seems to call how the Dustbringers seemed so weird. Yet hear me out. It may also Work for the herald of Lightweaving who has now reached the fifth ideal of Dustbrining in order to take down a major threat with her. They say dustbringers cause a lot of Death. "The death is my life." Dustbringing is (to be fair this IS just a guess) in someways the polar opposite of Lightweaving. Lightweving takes lies and makes them true, but in turn relies on self-realaztion to stay grounded. We don't know much about dustbringing but we DO know that they like to take things apart to see how they work. Just a theory but maybe that applies to both their opponents AND themselves. If true then "the strength becomes my weakness" would refer to how Shalash's strength as a light weaver would be a weakness as a Dustbringer. Finally "the Journey has ended" I am just guessing but I think it works best if it has multiple meanings. So it works best if it has refers to both the end end Of fer journey as a Knight radiant reaching the final ideal, the end of her journey referring to life and the end of the journey that is the story that is the Stormlight Archive. So tell me what you think. I feel confident about this. that being said even if I did get it right, we all know this is only PART of the big thing that will happen and as always with Brandon it's about the journey not the destination.

Well it’s not impossible but given that in White Sand 2 we meet someone named Trell and White Sand is the Homeworld of Autonomy. My bets are on Autonomy.

Well IF they CAN have half-human kids you KNOW who wants to be the first to volunteer to help make them. Then again he’d probably be to afraid of the responsiblity.

Something I always wanted to try to figure out. How does the timeline of Mistborn Secret History wrap around the timeline of the original Mistborn trilogy? Basically I like reading things in chronological order and as someone who has already read both of these it’s obvious why a first timer wouldn’t to read Secret History until after the Trilogy given how it spoils things. But I thought it might be fun for a reread to try to read both together chronologically. But for that to work I’d need a timeline of how the two stories interact. Like this chapter and/or paragraph here (of the trilogy) happens around the same time as or between this chapter and/or paragraph here (of the Secret History). Does anyone think they could or would be interested in helping me work this out?

One speculation that I have is to point out that so far the problem is that Wax has been engaging the Set on their terms that isn’t going to work anymore. ESPECIALLY with Teslin who knows Wax all too well and can plug on his emotional strings. It’s never a good idea to let your enemy set the terms of engagement. This is a time to rewrite the playbook. The fact Steris has been shown to have an intrest in financal detetective work (and the way it is of “presenting yourself to society”) and the fact that Set shows interest in trying to controling society through finance is what makes me think that the idea will to be to make Teslin come to them through financial collapse of the Set. To be fair it’s just a theory though.
-
I like to speculate. It’s so hard to know for certain what Brandon will do that the most we can hope to get is vague ideas.
-
Why can’t Teslin be BOTH a foil to Steris AND Autonomy’s champion? Foils CAN work on multiple levels you know.
-
OK bear with me from a bit I am going to start with my conclusion and work backwards from there. My conclusion is just like Steris has Asperger’s (confirmed by word of god to be on the part of the spectrum what Asperger’s was called is located. Teslin is a Sociopath. If you don’t know why that would make them foils let me explain. Despite the fact that the unusual behavior of people with Asperger’s sometimes gets Well to be frank the two disorders are basically polar opposites in a lot of respects. In particular when it comes to Empathy. People with Asperger's are generally more compassionate and get distressed by other people's pain, but have problems showing it in a natural manner. Most have a strong conscience. And an inability to save their life is another common trait. The favored popular-culture consumate sociopath on the other hand tends to systematically misdirect, manipulate, fake caring mannerisms, etc, without any outward minor twitch/sign that they are doing so, or get intensely sadistic. Also the person with Asperger’s will struggle to learn social rules and ques a lot of time these CAN come off as arbitrary and illogical. As we have quite logical thinking. Whereas the Sociopath will often fit in seemlessly, they also have have a lack of regard for consequences of their actions may bring. (Oh fun fact about Sociopaths SOME of them, may cherish the bonds the make and hate cutting them off even if their empathy does not extrnd to others. Presumably that is what BS was TRYING to portray, and failed, with Kelsier) So yeah, in Wax’s flashback we were told that Teslin could fit in easily anywhere. Yet as we see she has no problems killing one of her subordinates to maintain her “cover.” A lie that she comes with on the spot I might add. While Wayne is also a good lier he DOES care about the consequences of his actions. Meanwhile Teslin and her Set have continually engaged in acts that would destabilize the basin when no good would come from it. So I’d say she fits the bill. So if Teslin is intended to be Steris foil I just hope Brandon Sanderson does something with this. EDIT: I forgot to mention the egocentric nature of sociopaths.

I've got another RWBY one that I think COULD fit the Knight radiant as a whole.Or if not all of them it at least fits a WHOLE LOT OF THEM. Let's Just Live. Tell me what you think. -
Well there’s also that part of how a big part of it was self-loathing on Wax’s part. Like how he pointed out had I told you the truth about her would you have done any differently? And he Wax was forced to admit that he would have shot her even if he knew she was Lessie, and ironically by keeping that information from him the act of making the shot was less painful then it would have been if had to shoot while knowing who she was. So Harmony DID spare him some pain. That being said I wonder why the initial plan to bring Wax to the city went the way it did? I suspect we will learn more when we get the final book, but I cannot help but wonder if it has to do with Trell.

Speaking of Shadows Of Self what did you guys think about it's follow-up Bands Of Mourning? Particularly Wax's conversation with Harmony?

Here is a find all off my own of my own. What do you think of Home as the theme for Roaden of Elantris. Again listen to the chorus. I can practically hear him singing to the members of Elantris. -

If JUST the song title works and the lyrics DON't have to be considered than how about Who I Am Hates Who I've Been for Dalinar. The lyrics don't really work but the title DOES fit. -

So the Stalking Song belongs to Vasher? Seriously have you ever listened to the lyrics of that song or do you just no it by it’s title. It’s VERY creepy. Now I could see that song going to DENTH. A song that SEEMS romantic at first but when you pay CLOSER ATTENTION. -
So what you’re saying is the pattern fits all of the books? OK Thanks. It’s no WOB, but it’s still pretty dang good.
