  1. Hey thanks for the quick and concise reply I did hear that marsh is definately using the atium compounding trick, so there is that. It does raise the issue of why the Inquisitors with feruchemical speed never tried burning a steelmind. Or maybe those that did entered the speedforce and became time travellers. Also a good point, i guess what you are getting is part of the spirit web of that person, and the added senses come from that spirit web, so if you could compound the senses/strength/mental strength from their spirit web then you could probably just compound the same from your own spirit web thus making the hemalurgy unecessary :/ Hmm ok I agree that the power you get is just from the victims innate investiture, but say there was a little bit of ruin investiture in any hemalurgic spike, or say you got a little bit of elantrian investiture or something from a completely different shard, preservation can just copy that power for you?
  2. So I know my name is PewterAgoldF but I was thinking about what I would do if I was double nicrosil and had some thoughts Firstly this is probably the rarest combination there is so lets just say Harmony gave me some specks of lerasium I could alloy with whatever I want (not enough to become a mistborn) and another bead that does the same for feruchemy somehow (perhaps lerasium+atium+another metal, idk) Secondly, since I can now compound investiture, could I potentially get a Pathian earring, made from old inquisitor spikes, and take the miniscule residual investiture from it and compound that? Steel earrings could hold Pushing and Pulling and Pewter allomancy, and Pewter earrings would probably have feruchemical gold, possibly speed. Thirdly, in the same way that you can't compound if you got your feruchemy and allomancy through hemalurgy because it is being performed with the spiritual signature of the victim, does that mean that as a nicroburst, I could nicroburst my own allomancy which I got through hemalurgy? Or is the signature thing only for feruchemy? And lastly, could I compound the investiture of hemalurgy taken from regular people? For example a tin spike doesn’t give allomantic or feruchemical tin ability, it just gives you better senses permanently overall, then as a nicrosil compounder I could tap as much as I want at will. This could go for strength (try not to koloss out), mental strength, and emotional strength too, and a duralumin spike grants faster burning ability I think (not instant burning of all active metals) so compounding this would be way more useful than actual allomantic duralumin) I see only one issue with the last one (apart from potential craziness) being that if the power is not of preservation then how could allomantically burning it grant more E.g. if I somehow get pure Ruin investiture I don’t think I could compound it because preservation doesn’t have ruin investiture to give. But maybe the senses taken from regular dudes still has preservation in it. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
  3. Good points, but I still think that the POV thing is possible, in that you are not seeing the definate future but merely one of the possible futures. The "strongest" one. I think that when the Vessels see the futures they see all the possibilities branching out, some are strong possibilities and some are very weak. Obviously each person also has a huge tree of alternative past paths they could have taken, yet with gold they only see one, possibly the most significant or strong alternative possibility. Of course an alloy can act differently than and element, like how duralumin doesnt flare all metals, only those you are currently burning, while aluminum takes them all out. Do we actually know that when burning electrum you see your shadow running ahead of yourself? Is there still room to speculate on this?
  4. I always thought that burning electrum wouldn't show you shadows, it is not paired with atium. Atium shows the users shadows of others furures, Malatium shows users shadows of others (most likely?) alternative life path. Gold puts you into the POV of your alternative life path, so wouldn't electrum put you into the POV of your single most likely future? I can understand how this would appear as shadows I guess. Elend and Vin didnt really get much benefit from it which I always found weird. Also, while useful against atium, I always thought that a hemalurgic spike of Electrum should do something weird to you rather than just give you shadows in the eyes of thos burning atium, what causes those shadows?
  5. Maybe a bit too hopeful here but i thought that perhaps the power of lerasium, being of preservation, and hemalurgy, being of ruin, when used together could create a balance. With this in mind i thought maybe since lerasium allomancy makes a full mistborn, then perhaps lerasium hemalurgy could make a full feruchemist, even if it was only run through the heart of a regular person.
  6. :/ Shot down, haha Thanks for the replies though, guess i have a fair bit of catching up to do. BTW by bilocation i was trying to refer to one person being in two places at once (like when burning gold but existing in the same reality)
  7. Hi all. This is my first post and i cant say I have read everything here but i have read alot of cool ideas and then got hit with this one. I just finished AofL. So what if, instead of removing Miles' metalminds and shooting him to death, they guillotined him down the middle and saw if the two halves healed into wholes. I dont think that is much of a stretch since he can take bullets to the brain. The cloning part. The next part is a stretch but its cool. What if, when he burned Gold the two copies of himself shared a mind? I mean technically this would represent a significant fork in the road of life for each one. I realise the holes in this, personally i dont really think the person you see when burning gold is real, otherwise you would also see them when they burned gold and not just when you do. Plus when miles burned gold he saw himself as an unsatisfied lawmaker, however presumably back when he was an unsatisfied lawmaker he also burned gold, and presumably saw something else. But the Bilocation idea would be awesome and you never know until you try right? either way you could make a copy of yourself to be besties with which I am hoping is an origional idea here.
