  1. I agree with you about Renarin, he is a Truthwatcher, not something like a Windrunner. He could fight if he needed to but his role is to "see" not to fight and defend. Now on the point about Adolin, we haven't had a chance to see anything from Renarin's POV yet, we honestly haven't seen much of him in general, so we'll see how his character develops. I do like Adolin, but Renarin being a POV character and a Radiant interests me.
  2. Oh I love Dalinar, I just don't see him surviving personally. I really want Kaladin and Shallan to still be around in the second arc though, I do enjoy Kaladin's Superman moments and Shallan is my favorite character.
  3. To add to the point about the Stone Shamans, I do remember Szeth (maybe it was him, I can't produce a quote right now so feel free to shoot me down) mentioning something about the Spirit of Stones, or Spirit in the Stones. Those are the ones who named him Truthless, and told him that the Voidbringers could never come back. So that also supports the Stoneward theory because that could be the spren of the Stonewards. Obviously though, something is wrong because they named him Truthless when he wasn't, maybe they were just afraid to admit the truth and lied... but either way, Nale is gonna allow Szeth to get his justice against the Stone Shamans.
  4. Arc One: Kaladin, Shallan, Dalinar, Szeth, and Eshonai Arc Two: Renarin, Lift, Jasnah, Taln (Talenel), and Ash (Shalash) That is what Brandon has said (I don't have the WoB but you can look it up, I believe I am right). I think it will be neat to get the flashbacks of two of the heralds. But as everyone has said, this doesn't mean that they will even be in the main plot of the second arc. We don't know who is gonna die yet, my money is on Dalinar and Szeth though at least. The heralds have already shown to be involved with the happenings on Roshar in plain sight. We've already seen Jezrien, Shalash, Talenel, and Nalan,
  5. Thanks everyone, I do appreciate it. I am excited for the series, and you're right, I have to read part one to get to part two.
  6. So I picked up Stormlight Archive over the summer and absolutely devoured the books, that were lovely and I couldn't put them down. So I picked up Mistborn like a few months ago trying to get further into the Cosmere. The premise seems good, I'm like 100 pages into it but I can't seem to find the motivation to really dive into it like I did with SA. Maybe I just need a reminder of how good the series is to get me excited for it like I was with SA. HALP!!!
  7. Okay, this is a really clever theory. I hadn't quite gotten a chance to ponder Szeth's background yet, and this looks pretty promising. The question is, have they forsaken their oaths as well? They do call his slave stone the Oathstone, he may have to bare the oath of a radiant with the honorblade as they were meant to be servants to the people. Which they could have possibly forsaken or not and may or may not have spren? Who knows, I'm kinda reaching at this point I think but we can only wait and see.
  8. I agree with this, that was the same night that Eshonai made her bond with the stormspren, that explains why Syl was freaking out. I feel like Eshonai's book (possibly book five) will give us that villain POV and Odium's hold on her and the rest of the Listeners. Eshonai is gonna be pretty crucial before this is over.
  9. Like I said, once she matures up a little bit, I probably won't have a problem. But there is nothing against wanting the Herald of Justice to punish someone who is breaking the law...... I will agree that I think the Edgedancer stuff is cool and she could have a really cool role to play when she comes in the back half of the series as a POV character.
  10. The Stormfather didn't have to do it, he was reluctant but he acknowledged that Dalinar had spoken the words and made his vow. He chose to do it because... wait for it... it's what is RIGHT! Haha, because, ya know? He is the spren of Honor.....
  11. I did not read the whole thread but I do have an point about the Bondsmiths. From what I understand, Bondsmiths are meant to be leaders, so it somewhat makes sense for them to form a bond with godspren. The ideal, "I will unite instead of divide. I will bring men together." supports the idea that they are leaders, kind of like the role that a "godspren" would play (The Stormfather being the father of honorspren like Syl). That's just my analysis though.
  12. I know it's late but I liked the idea and I had just seen the thread, so I wanted to put my input in
  13. 1. Tyn, this one took some thinking because I love a good villain but Sadeas was just infuriating 2. Adolin, yes Tien is Kaladin's innocent little brother but I just like Adolin more. 3. Shallan, absolutely no question against anyone too me, been my favorite character since Part One of The Way of Kings 4. Wit, duh 5. Dalinar/Jasnah, this one is easily the closest out of this lineup because I love them both for their own reasons but I would probably have to grit my teeth and say Dalinar 6. Amaram, I want him to die just like everyone but like I said before, I love a good villain (Love Navani though) 7. Kaladin Stormblessed, that being said, Pattern is amazing, especially when he gets riled up about something like the symmetry of words and the use of the letter H. 8. Again, another hard one but I'd have to say Rock 9. Eshonai, this one wasn't hard because I don't have much sympathy for Balat (I do, but he doesn't do anything for himself so he doesn't deserve sympathy to me) 10. Teft, I wanted Dalinar to pop Elhokar's heart like a grape in TWoK 11. Szeth, easy. Lopen is a funny character and is likeable, but that's it (as of WoR). Szeth has so much depth and design, second favorite character under Shallan. 12. Lirin, I think he's a strong character, not taking anything away from Sigzil but Lirin is just stronger. 13. Nalan, I like characters like him, so it's a personal thing more than anything 14. Moash, if anything because I absolutely HATED Lift for the first half of her interlude. I wanted Nale to ram that Shardblade into her fifty times with a smile on his face, definitely would have brought one to mine.... sorry, I really did not like Lift because I like to know about the innerworkings of the plot and everything that Wyndle was trying to explain and she KEPT YAWNING AND IGNORING HIM!!!! Sorry again, I might like her more once she grows up a bit but man did I want her to die. 15. Renarin, because how can you NOT like Renarin? He sees! 16. Zahel, he's a swordmaster, enough said.
  14. Have an upvote, friend! The Way of Kings was my first book of Brandon's too, I'm currently reading Mistborn but I don't have the unlimited free time I did over the summer to power through it like I did The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance. I am enjoying it so far though. On another note, I've been looking into the Wheel of Time as well, so I can actually give my hand at an epic. What should I expect from it? Just wondering.
  15. Thank you for letting me in on that, I very much appreciate it. I'm new to the cosmere so I was not made aware of that. At least I know I was relatively right, thank you though!
  16. I don't anything about Shalash being a Flashback character (I do know she is Jezrien's daughter, and he is the king of the Heralds) but I know Renarin and Lift are confirmed for their own books in the second half of the series. I think Jasnah will have her own too. I know she survived but should she actually die, Brandon has said that he has nothing against writing flashbacks about a dead character. I also think Taln will have a book as well, just a theory though.
  17. I think this theory is absolutely brilliant honestly. This was the very first Interlude in the entire series and not only did it show that people (whom Brandon is confirmed are from other worlds) are looking for Hoid but it would make sense that he would hint at the Honor/Odium relationship with Tanavast being dead and Rayse reigning. Good thinking, friend.
  18. I read through both The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance very fast so I missed that detail, but that makes sense.
  19. You could be right, I'm just stirring the discussion up a bit.
  20. Could have been Jezrien maybe? He was confirmed by Brandon to have been in The Way of Kings.
  21. You're right, I'm literally just speculating right now and stating my opinion. I'm very into the Shalladin ship and I want it to happen, but that's just me. I'm just going off of my interpretation of her relationship with Adolin.
  22. I disagree. While it is obvious that Shallan hasn't put much thought into any feelings she may or may not have for Kaladin, Kaladin has even if it is a little bit. He just wanted her to smile at him and notice him after what they went through in the chasms. Also, there are still eight books to go and yes I know that Brandon is doing a character shift after book five but that doesn't mean that Kaladin and Shallan won't be around. They have plenty of time to let their feelings build and we can see where it goes. My personal favorite scene in the book is when they were in the chasms together (though the Kaladin v Szeth fight is a close second). Shallan is my favorite character as well and I just don't see her and Adolin lasting. While yes, she is interested in him, it seems more as a novelty and something she thinks she's supposed to do. Not saying that she doesn't like him, because she is obviously attracted to him. But she seemed to have a little less scripted attraction to Kaladin even though it was much more minimal at that time.
  23. Szeth needs a little loving too, maybe he can have Liss and they can assassinate the nobility of Roshar together. She's already owned him once XD On the topic of Shalladin though, I don't think he'd hint so heavily at the tension between the two if nothing was going to come out of it (my opinion) especially would have deliberate every detail is in these books.
  24. I wouldn't want Laral to come back either but she will probably still be in Hearthstone when Kaladin gets there, his arch is totally not done yet even though "his" book was the first one.
  25. Like, it's almost so predictable/cheesy that it's awesome, at least it is to me. It also doesn't help that Shallan is my favorite character and I think the two of them really compliment one another, more than her and Adolin do anyway. Jasnah/Kaladin is interesting though, their both really hot-headed so that would be definitely neat. Also, Kaladin keeps referring to a woman named Tarah so that will likely be an issue down the road as well, especially since he is going back to Alethkar.
